Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

would I be correct in saying , to advance my encounter slots I would need to check which encounter slot I am on them battle all the pokemon up until the pokemon before the encounter slot I want.

e.g I start on an encounter slot of 4 and my pokemon is on an encounter slot of 7, would I battle pokemon 4 , 5 and 6 then the next battle get the pokemon I want?

Nope, that is not how it works.

For a frame, which Pokemon you battle will always be that of the slot which was reported in RNG Reporter. Having another battle just brings you to a different frame which will have a different encounter slot.

No i think Dan Dan is right on this, just pick a Frame from your Seed that matches the Encounter Slot of the Pokemon you want and it will list a Frame advance it and then you should have your poke :D
I don't think they go up in order...although I could be wrong.

@Stevee - That's because Beldum is a Swarm, not a PokeRadar specific 'mon. I think Flygon is the PokeRadar critter for that area..I'm guessing Supe started a chain to get his one.

Oh ok.... Damn now i gotta keep trying to find a specific spot where i can get a Togepi to chain XD Thanks!

Can you advance the frame to your target frame simply by walking "X" amount of steps, obviously assuming the frame is >5? I know it will take longer than flipping the journal, but with the step counter app it seems like it would be easier(slower, but easier). I keep hitting my delays but I miss my frame by +-2 frames because I flip one too many/few. IE, I want to hit a 2140 frame, and each 5 frame advancements is equal to 128 steps. Can I just walk 54,784 steps?

EDIT: It probably seems like this is a stupid question, but in the other RNG guide for capturing a perfect pokemon it states: "Any more and it is possible that the RNG will advance again and throw off your calculations."

One last question on PokeRadar Abuse XD I know the Patches that show up depend on your Seed, and i know if you take a step(s) it changes it as well, instead of taking a Step(s) could i just use my Journal to advance it? And if i do will it change the Patches that show up?
EDIT: JRT yes NPC's affect your Frame no matter where you are :) That is if there moving of course

Does anyone know if the turning npc in the mining museum on platinum affects the frame at all?

Um anyone?? Just wondering so I know if I can abuse the fossils the same way in diamond, or if I need to do the journal flips first.

Iirc, if it moves in a fixed pattern (repeats the same action) then it doesn't affect the frame, if it's random then it will.

Journal Flips only advance the frame...the same thing as turning twice or turning and walking. Test it out though and see what you get, all this is useful info for me if I ever decide to not use chaining :P

nitpick :x

Does anyone have a list of the 256 PIDs that the Pokewalker can create with the coresponding natures and abilities?

Also, if I remember correctly, Pokewalker Pokemon, like eggs, don't have their PID and IVs coupled.

Is Spiritomb method 1 or method J? I looked through the tables for both in the guide and couldn't find it (I might be temporarily blind, though)...

EDIT: I'm also still looking for a reverse-RNG formula, such that when I put the seed into it, I get the seed that came before it.

If you mean the seed that you would have gotten with one frame of delay less, all you do is subtract 1 from the seed you got.

I'm looking for something that steps back the random number generator's sequence of numbers. For example, the sequence of numbers starts off 0, 6073, e97e7b6a, 52713895, 31b0dde4, and 8e425287. Therefore I am looking for a formula that would go 8e425287, 31b0dde4, 52713895, etc.

Yeah, I'm a total math noob, but I believe mingnot posted a "reverse RNG formula" in the FR/LG research thread.

Thank you!

So to put my other question on a new page, is Spiritomb method 1 or method J? I looked in the guide, but it is left off of the lists for some reason.

Only bred the dudes. Never activated mine. When you use that rock and visit however many people in the underground that you are supposed to, does it just stand there and then you walk up to it and press A to "encounter" it? If so, it's method J. If it's some kind of gift or it's a runner (yeah right!xD), then it's method 1.

Note that according to Serebii, some Pokemon are restricted to a certain gender (Surfing Pikachu is all male, I think).

Crazy noobish question, but how would this info be useful to us "RNG'ers"?

Well, he asked.

And off the top of my head, you can boost the odds of nabbing a shiny Surfing Pikachu even further (assuming you RNG'd for the right ID\SID combo). Since the Surfing Pikachu are all male the odds of running into a valid shiny PID would be boosted even further.

Not doubting you for a moment. ;) Nobody knows of a way to get good IVs on one of these yet do they? A timid HP I 70 Surfing Raichu, or a Brave 0spd SD Munchlax would be amazing *.* (I actually just turned mine on this morning.)

Do journal entries detailing Pokemon received in a trade advance the frame, or is frame advancement restricted to entries describing captures?

I'm after any none-stupid natured Munchlax. >.>;;

@Donut: Thanks for the list!
