Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

1. You can RNG abuse in HG/SS, but not in the same way due to lack of journal/Poketch.

2. No, you can ask in the Simple requests for someone to check it.

3. Why wouldn't they be...?

Thanks, Age Of Kings ;)

One question more, the only purpose of knowing your SID is for shinies and legendaries, right?
Can i obtain good IV's spread without the SID?

Yes, you'll only need your SID for either using your Shiny Spreads to catch Pokemon or to Breed Shinies.

Thanks for the answers ^^

Then, how do you abuse RNG on HG/SS if there's no Pokétch or Journal? Smogon articles only explain how to do it on DPPt...

There's a research thread about it. I don't have the url on me though, but from what I can tell, you can advance the frame as normal if you're in grass or a cave by turning or walking, use the radio, or talk to your partner Pokemon.

Do the NPC's in Great Marsh advance the frame for all areas?
I mean if im in Area 1,do the NPC's of let's say Area 5 advance my frame?

1) Nobody knows, and 2) you're insane. At least try catching Pokemon in the Great Marsh with an emulator, then you can reload a save state if the Pokemon runs away.

Besides PikaTimer (which I can't, by any means get to work), is there any other way to reliably hit unusual delays?

Emloop (link on the first page of the thread).

Just note that the number of seconds in the yellow box + green box will equal the seconds you land on when starting the game. Also the red box = your delay + some compensation factor, which you will have to adjust for by guessing and checking.

Don't edit the time after every reset. If you do it makes it alot harder to consistently hit the delay. If you find that your are wavering between your wanted delay and one +/-2 from what you want, edit the time by .01 in the opposite direction in the second box (add if it's lower, subtract if it's higher).

Thanks Coktal, finally hit it and captured the damn bird. Hmm, now that I got the hang of this I really appreciate not mashing anymore to hit my delay BUT I used to be pretty good at that, usually take me like 3-4 SR. In the end I guess this is better cause you get those really good spreads with low frames (not a fan of journal flipping). Anyways, thanks again

Alright, first off I'd like to say thanks for all the help and RNG related topics, they've helped me alot.

Now, I've done and pretty much mastered on what to do and have sucessfully Performed RNG Abused.
But If I RNG abuse for a shiny egg, can I "help" make the eggs IV spread with flawless parents? Or is it set in stone with the shininess?

In other words will Flawless parents affect the shiny eggs spread indefinetly?

^Edited slightly for readability.

Yes, this is covered in the article. Parents can affect the IVs of their children(the A or B stat in RNG Reporter). The PID (controls shinyness) and IV generation of eggs is done separately, so you can abuse for the PID to be shiny, save, and then abuse for the IVs.

Is it possible to use the step counter alone to advance the rng?

I was going to RNG a honeytree heracross, and my target frame is 1318 with a jolly synchronizer. I subtract 2 for the monster frame and another two because cresselia and mesprit are still roaming. That leaves 1314. Normally I would hit my seed and do 657 journal flips to get me to my frame. I was wondering if you could instead just reset the step counter, and with 6 pokes in the party (my calculations: 1314/6 = 219 and 219*128 = 28032) and walk 28032 steps around Floarama Meadow (no NPC's) and activate the honey tree. Is this possible or does the RNG advance randomly if the step counter clocks over 128?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. I've done this myself, and although it takes longer, it is much easier.

Frame

I'm having A LOT of trouble advancing to the target frame (for wild RNG abuse) I can hit the target time nearly every attempt. I can't figure out how to find the frame a pokemon was caught in with RNG Reporter either (so I don't know whether I'm advancing too much or too little)

I've read what advances the frame no less than 100 times, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. There are no NPCs in the area I'm at, either =/

78 journal flips + 2 steps in grass + sweet scent should put the pokémon encounter at frame 160, right? o.o

I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but anyways...
I have noticed that in the route where the daycare man is in HG/SS there is a teeneger down at that route. And everytime it makes a turn, the RNG advances by 2.
I was wondering what made the frames advance in front of the daycare man without moving or doing anything. Then I went down the route and saw that the frame advances when the Teeneger makes a turn.
To confirm I generated another egg and saved infront of the daycare man, found out my initial seed and initial frame. Let the seed change once than used Kazo's frame finder and looked like the frame was advanced by 2. Collected the egg to confirm, and it was correct.
