so im throwing together a fun team to play through diamond again
im using:

Simple-Bibarel@Leftovers (Waterfall, Curse, Amnesia, Charge Beam) because i just want to play with his awesome ability
Poison Heal-Breloom@Toxic Orb (Spore, False Swipe, Focus Punch, Seed Bomb) because of usefulness and a cool ability
Intimidate-Staraptor@Lucky Egg (Feather Dance, Roost, Close Combat, Aerial Ace) cause i love the intimidate/feather dance combo
Anger Point-Primeape@Amulet Coin (Earthquake, Rock Slide, Fire Punch, Outrage) for coverage/sweepiness and, again, would love to play with the ability
tauros (surf, strength, rock smash, rock climb)
skarmory (fly, defog, cut, flash)

i wanted to try a skill link cloyster but he cant get rock blast till HG/SS...

anyway, im looking at breloom and bibarel as im preparing the team. id like them to have spore and curse (learned by shoomish at 35 and bidof at 35) ready to go at a young level. am i going to be able to level up a father to get the moves and breed them down to the baby? or is that only for egg moves & TMs? is there any way to have these moves available before 35?

Strapps if both parents know the move and the baby can learn it, it will be passed on but ONLY if BOTH parents know said move.

also i don't know if this is the right place but i fail at irc and i can't connect to stark because:
1. i don't know how to get it up because i don't know what sever its on and i've tried loads and read the anoncmount but don't really know how to work Xchat.
2. i can't use Xchat
(sorry about bad spelling)

Okay this question has been bugging me for a while but I never thought of asking it here. It's difficult to word this question and I'm not sure if there's a definite answer anyways, but here it goes.

Let's say that you are using a Metagross, and your opponent is using a Blissey. You use the move Meteor Mash, and it misses. Does the accuracy of Meteor Mash increase the next time Metagross uses it? Or if Meteor Mash did hit Blissey, does the accuracy decrease the next time it is used by the same Pokémon? And if this rule applies, if Metagross then used Zen Headbutt, would the accuracy be changed by any hits or misses of the previous Meteor Mash attacks?

Thanks for your help or at least reading that whole useless paragraph

Shroomish only learns Spore by leveling up at 45, not 35. And since it's not an Egg move, TM, or Tutor move, the only way to have your Breloom know Spore is to level Shroomish up to 45 and then evolve it into Breloom.

I am pretty new to pokemon so I am not sure how this might work but how will the data for the Gamestop Pichu be transferred to Heart Gold and Soul Silver and also will I be able to transfer my Pokemon from the Plat version to the new games. If so how is that done?

Sorry, I don't think anyone saw your little post in there. The Gamestop Pikachu colored Pichu will be transfered to your Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum game, not Heart Gold and Soul Silver, as the event will be over before the USA even gets those games. You will be able to trade between your DS Pokémon games same as always, either using the GTS with one DS, or with two DS systems you can wirelessly trade from the top floor of a Pokémon Center. As for getting the Gamestop Pichu, first you must obtain the Mystery Gift if you haven't already on any and all games (Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum) that you would like to get the Pichu. If you don't have Mystery Gift, follow the guide here (http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/mysterygift.shtml). Once you have the Mystery Gift, go to Gamestop. Then, from anywhere in the store, on your DS, select Mystery Gift on the menu screen, then select Receive Gift, Get Via Wireless, and Yes. If you already have two Wonder Cards, you must delete one to be able to receive the Pichu. Also, once you obtain the Pikachu colored Pichu, you will be able to obtain the Spiky Eared Pichu in Heart Gold or Soul Silver. EDIT: Sorry I forgot the last part about obtaining the Pikachu colored Pichu. Once you obtain the Wonder Card, go into any Pokémon Mart in your game and talk to the green delivery man standing near the counter, and if you have an empty spot in your party, he will give you your Pokémon.

Sorry for multiple posts, wasn't trying to be annoying or get up post count.

The accuracy of the move will remain the same, as it would for practically any move.

Using VGC 2010 rules, to have an optimal EV spread should I distribute numbers divisible by 4 or by 8?
At Level 50, you will want an EV number of 8x-4 (4, 12, 20, 28, etc.) for your IV+(2*Base Stat)+(EV/4) to be divisible by 2.
What are the requirements for voting on a suspect?
Your Suspect rating has to be high enough to qualify (i think) for having your Suspect EXP. checked by some crazy formula Jumpman and Doug made.
what are some of the best typings in the game?
I'd say that there are offensive and defensively good typings. For offensive typings, obviously you'd want something with good coverage, like Ghost-Fighting, which doesn't exist (cough Revenankh cough) in the real games. I can't really think of good examples right now >.<... For defensive typings, Bronzong, Swampert, Spiritomb (Steel-Psychic, Water-Ground, Ghost-Dark, respectively) along with other have good resistances/immunities.

I just recently saw a good thread about this topic, maybe it can help (http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64264). But you have to remember, especially in cases such as Spiritomb, having resistances isn't everything, but having those resistances along with good defensive stats.

Question! ('m trying to condense my posts now.) Here's a simple enough question. What are the negative side effects to using Action Replay on your Pokémon? Can you trade them on the GTS? Can you battle with them against other people?

Does anyone know what these Scizor EVs accomplish specifically? I'm making a rmt and this set works excellently but I would like to be able to explain the EVs.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 160 HP / 176 Atk / 8 Spd / 166 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turn

I'm not sure why you're investing Sp.Def EVs on CB Scizor. You're weakening it's power in order to increase it's Sp.Def?

IIRC, the EVs let you survive a Draco Meteor followed by a Surf from LO Latias while losing only 10% physical offensive capabilities.

How long do battles stay on the VS Recorder server? I know they disappear at some point, as I've saved the IDs of many battles I've uploaded and then come back several weeks later to try and watch them, only to find a message that the ID was invalid.

You can trade your Pokemon on the GTS (not here on the forums, though) and you can battle other people as long as you tell them that you're using hacked Pokemon.

My question: I know all about my Secret I.D. and all that in my games, but what I've always been scratching my head about is if I receive a event Pokemon, does it gain my Secret I.D. or does it have a Secret I.D. from the event or some random generated Secret I.D. it acquires? For example, I'll be going to my local GameStop tomorrow to pick up my Pikachu-colored Pichu. Now, when I obtain this Pichu (after getting the Wondercard and talking to the man in the PokeMart) does the Pichu acquire my Secret I.D. or does it have a completely different Secret I.D.? I have all three versions of the games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum) and say I get one Pichu each on each game, do they all get different Secret I.D.'s (it may sound kind of foolish, as I know each game has a Secret I.D. to its own but what I really mean is do the Wondercards alter the event Pokemon's Secret I.D., kind of like how each Pichu I get will have a different Nature each [or if lucky they'll have both the same], does that change the outcome in anyway)?

Also if you get an Egg Pokemon to your game and the event Pokemon comes in an Egg (which there was plenty in the GBA era), after hatching said event Pokemon egg, it surely acquires my Secret I.D., right? Or does it still retain it's own Secret I.D. from said event? And as well, is there any way to check a Pokemon's Secret I.D. (in the 3rd gen games & in the 4th gen games)? If so, then I'd like to know how to do such a thing. By any means, be it through in-game somehow or through an AR. My buddy has one, so I'm sure I can borrow his if need be (not like I'd be 'hacking' the Pokemon, just checking to see something - as long as I don't alter anything on the Pokemon then I suppose it's not cheating). Thanks in advance for anyone who can answer my questions. Been scratching my head about those for some time now (lol pretty much just today).

Shroomish only learns Spore by leveling up at 45, not 35. And since it's not an Egg move, TM, or Tutor move, the only way to have your Breloom know Spore is to level Shroomish up to 45 and then evolve it into Breloom.

This is incorrect. If you breed a female Breloom/Shroomish with Spore, and a father pokemon (it might have to be a Shroomish too, but I don't think so) with Spore, the baby will have Spore because Shroomish learns Spore by level-up. All level-up moves can be bred in this way.

I think you mean a surf followed by a draco meteor.

I also think this is an ineffecient spread. You could provide similar SpDef capability, for example, with 192hp 132spDef, giving better physical defence. EDIT: not sure about this actually. I forgot you take more SR damage. Experiment with a damage calculator.

I found a little irregularity in the Strategy Pokédex. In one of Tyranitar's suggested builds (now absent after last update, don't know why), the move Thunder was suggested. Omastar's page says that Thunder is lowered to 50% accuracy under sand, but I found a post (after a google search) by someone who did a Thunder test using Tyranitar + 3 Jirachis + 2 Blysseys against a friend, and he used Thunder 160 times under Gravity and all 160 of them hit. This suggests that Omastar's page has wrong info or, if it doesn't, that Tyranitar's build with Thunder was silly (even though it doesn't exist anymore). Which one is it?

Does Sleep Talk work with Choice Items? I've been using Scarfcross as my sleep absorber, and I absorb the sleep, use Sleep Talk, it picks a move, but on the next Sleep Talk, the move fails. Help?

Choice items require you to switch out or use the sam move as the last move you used after you first acquired a choice item. Sleep Talk locks you into the move it selects.
Attack, then get tricked it: you select next turn our choiced move
Get tricked it, then attack: you are locked into whatever you just used.

What about HGSS?

I think it was fixed in platinum, though that may be a different glitch. Try going on the in game section of the main Smogon website, I think the "tips and tricks" article has some info. Also cantab's post just below my answer had more information.
Naturally, if it was fixed in Plat it will not be in HG/SS, but I'm beginning to think that it wasn't.
