Chelsea with a very lucky 2 - 1 win over Burnley. Burnley deserved a draw at least. Chelsea wasn't good enough to break Burnley, but eventually due to a corner, they score

Tomorrow is 'de Klassieker' between Feyenoord and Ajax. I'm very excited about it. Ajax will have to win this, but you never know in these kind of matches.

Yes yes chelsea is always lucky bla bla bla, point is Chelsea got points where neither Man U nor Arsenal could, that's champion material right there!

EDIT: Just saw the match highlights, and Burnley's goal... And you say Chelsea got lucky with 8+ chances against their 2...

Chelsea dropped points at full strength, while united kept pase with a depleated side, and rooney has already scored the same as last seasons top scorer.

If you saw the whole match, instead of the highlight, you could see that Chelsea had a hard time dealing with the Burnley defence. They managed to score out of a corner. That says enough I think

1-3 the final score in the Emirates Stadium. Great score, great match. Nothing more to say about it. Rooney scoring another goal and Nani playing great.

Fuck sake does Wenger need anymore proof that we need a proper striker that can play up front on his own, and also to get rid of Denilson. When your getting pushed out on the wings and playing crosses why do you keep a 5ft 7 midfielder up on his own.

Nani has been absolutely splendid tonight. I think he's cemented his place in the first team, for sure. Technical, fast, dangerous cross and an explosive shot. United deserved the 3-1 victory today.

yea best united have played for a while, rooney scored his TWENTIETH premier league goal of the season already.
Nani was brilliant for once

he was better against arsenal.
and some great results today
hull 1-1 chelsea chelsea's lead is now 2 points
crystal palace 3-1 wolves
wigan 0-2 notts county
o dear...

he was better against arsenal.

That doesn't matter. The way you worded your sentence implied that Nani hadn't played well for a while, yet there was a column in The Sun covering Nani's recent form -- and it was published before the Arsenal game. He's gradually elevated into a first team player, and things are starting to look good for him.

Ajax defeated Roda JC, an "angstgegner" of Ajax and the other topclubs with 4-0. All goals from Luis Suárez (highest bid on Suárez in the winter transfer period=100.000.000 Euro, he didn't want to leave and the club wanted to keep him). All in the second half. Roda JC is good against topclubs, but often play bad against low classed clubs. They are 13th in the Eredivisie, Ajax is 3th.

Ajax plays against Juventus for the Europa League on 18 February in Amsterdam. The return is on 25 February.

A video summary of the game (Dutch speaker, but watching suffices).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nFi8lYCvBE

In the season 2009/2010: 22 goals in 21 games in the Eredivisie. In the national Dutch cup, 6 goals in 4 games. In the Europa League 6 goals in 8 games. Also a lot of assists I won't count. He can play in a 3-forwards-system as central striker or right striker. Also as left striker, but often Suárez plays less good then. But not against Roda JC. In a 2-striker-system, on right. In a 1-striker system, he can play.

How much do you think he is worth? Please answer in Euro's.

So, it's been a good month or so for Manchester United.. and running into a struggling Portsmouth side at Old Trafford next has to be the best game we can go into if we want to have the best chance of being top of the League this weekend. However, I'm a believer that Portsmouth are a better side than the table makes out. Sure, I always thought they'd be relegation candidates, but I didn't think they'd be so far off the pace. Maybe the off-the-pitch matters are really affecting the players. Regardless, there's no room for complacency now.

Nani has sprung into life as of late, and it must be a number of things that have made him do so. Being out injured and wanting to give an impact on his return would be one. While Valencia nailing down a first choice start in his first season, Giggs performing consistently well when called upon, Park doing what's needed from him, and Obertan starting to show a bit of promise must have played a part. Nani knows United have at least four other wingers who could be as good as him in different ways and he needed to start performing to make the match-day squads. He's done just that. He does seem better on the right, but then again, with his new found confidence he hasn't played on the left yet. He's been making the right decisions more by keeping it simple - and by keeping it simple and things paying off, he's found the confidence to pull off the more extravagant skill once in a while, á la Arsenal.

Just because he's had three really good performances on the right doesn't mean he's taken Valencia's position though, in my opinion. I don't think Valencia would work on the left as well as Nani does / would. So I think it'd be worth trying both Nani and Valencia (with Nani on the left) against the likes of Portsmouth to see how we fair and to see if Nani's new-found confidence means he can play anywhere and that he's not just better on the right.

Nani is a bit more skill-full and can take on players both sides while Valencia is more likely to stay on his right foot and use his pace. I don't agree with people saying that Nani is more direct than Valencia, as I feel both are the same. However, I do have one potential answer.

Perhaps Nani is better than Valencia on the right in a 433 formation, where that extra bit of imagination is required. While, Valencia hugging the touch line and using his pace and direct crossing is better for a 442. who knows? We'd have to test things like this out in games we should win to find out.

However, I think rotating Nani and Valencia on the right could be good, as we've got Park, Giggs, and Obertan on the left who can be rotated as well. When we play Portsmouth, I'd like to see Nani on the left and Valencia on the right to see how that goes, and start with Rooney and Berbatov to get some goals and give a midfield player a rest. We'll no doubt be reverting to a similar team that faced Arsenal for Villa away and AC Milan away.

van der Sar
Rafael Brown Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Nani
Berbatov Rooney

I'd like to see Vidic get some game-time if fit, while Gary Neville could do with the same if fit. I don't think Sir Alex would want to go into AC Milan away with Rafael at Right Back in all honesty, so perhaps getting Vidic in the team and trying Brown at Right Back again could be a possibility.. Or getting Gary Neville fit enough for the away leg. I think it's like that Owen Hargreaves is not going to be ready after being left out of the Champions League squad and his match fitness will be poor, so it wouldn't be fair to throw him into matches of this importance. A lot of people would probably call for Evra to be rested, and I kind of agree with that. Playing Fábio would be fine for me, but I wouldn't want to start resting too many players. Carrick, Fletcher, and Rooney would all be worthy of a rest but I'm not sure if Anderson will be back in and I'm sure the likes of Giggs and Scholes will be looking for a rest here to play against Villa and AC Milan. Rooney just shouldn't be rested here as he's in shit-hot form, but I'd like to see him taken off in the second half to give Owen some time.

Manchester United wins 5-0 against Portsmouth after 3 own goals ;P Other goals were scored by Rooney(again, 21st of this season in the EPL) and Berabatov.

We could do with Arsenal getting a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge. I doubt that will happen, but in order for us to remain at the top without either Arsenal nor Chelsea gaining too much ground on us, I find that a scoreless draw benefits us greatly if we are to begin dominating the top of the league.

Why do people only talk about the Premier League here? There is more than Premier League, World Championship and Champions League. Europa League and Eredivisie for example.

Bold=predicted winner. Europa League.

Rubin Kazan - Hapoel Tel Aviv
Athletic de Bilbao - RSC Anderlecht
FC Kopenhagen - Olympique Marseille
Panathinaikos - AS Roma
Atletico Madrid - Galatasaray
Club Brugge - Valencia
Fulham - Shaktar Donetsk
Liverpool - Unirea Urziceni
Villarreal - Wolfsburg
Lille - Fenerbahçe
Everton - Sporting Lissabon
Hertha BSC - Benfica
FC Twente - Werder Bremen
Hamburger SV - PSV
AFC Ajax - Juventus

The reds won 1-0 in the Liverpool derby against Everton in a good match. Seven games win streak and finally in the top 4 not that far from the Man U and Chelsea. Going really good for now and gonna get even better.

Man U won 5-0 and I was pretty surprised Rooney has already scored 21 goals in the premier league. He's the best player in the Man U team now. Surely because of his Liverpool origins ;)
