I have been looking for information on this for several hours, and it seems as if it isn't really referenced in any of the guides here on Smogon, considering HG/SS is still new and people have not had time to properly research the US version yet. How does RNG manipulation in HG/SS differ from DPPt? Can I advance the RNG through the Pokegear? If so, how? What can I use as a substitute for the Magikarp Coin Flip, considering there is no Poketech in HG/SS? If somebody can basically outline the differences in the RNG in both games, or at least point me towards the proper thread it would be much appreciated.
I'm no RNG expert, but to the best of my knowledge, the new RNG method for Heart Gold and Soul Silver is still being worked on, but to advance the RNG, it involves watching an NPC move from one spot to another so that sounds really dull

Edit: Wow don't read my post, Misdreavus owned it

There's not a full guide for it, although there are very detailed guides for a few specific aspects of it. The most consistent way to advance the frame is via the PokéGear Radio... different stations advance the frame by different amounts, and there's a full list on the first page of the All-Generation RNG thread. The best way to check your seed is with a new program called Seed Verifier. It gives you three ways of checking your seed. One is by giving the results of the Coin Flip Pokétch app; of course, this only applies to D/P/Pt. The second is by using roaming Pokémon. If you have any roamers out, the program will tell you where on the PokéGear Map they should be if you have hit your seed correctly. The third is via the PokéGear Phone. There's three different conversations you can have with Professor Elm (one is about Kanto, assuming you've been there, one is about Pokérus, assuming you've gotten it, and the other is about evolution), and the program will tell you in what order they should appear for your desired seed if you call him several times.

I'm trying to catch Raikou and Entei, their HP is down to a tiny sliver, and they're both paralyzed. I've chucked dozens of Ultra Balls at them, and and a fair number of Dusk Balls at them with no luck, they keep getting out after the second Pokeball wiggle at the most... What more can I do to catch them?

OK, I'm training my pokewalker Kangaskhan, and I'm a bit tired to do a statistics problem. So here goes my question:

How much damage/base power does Comet Puch has, on average, based on the chances of getting more than 2 hits? Is it better to replace it for Dizzy Punch?

This should help: http://www.smogon.com/dp/moves/comet_punch
And Jewgong, yes.

I have a question, does the small banner under the Smogon University icon mean "nothing without Pokémon"?

The only way to have a better chance of catching them would be to have put them to sleep instead of paralyzing them since it has a x2 catch rate bonus instead of a x1.5 bonus. The only way to keep them from running away is to Tutor Block onto a Cradilly since they'll Roar you away otherwise. I just got them down to low health and threw a bunch of Quick Balls when I ran into them and eventually caught them.

This is probably a dumb question, but does Mold Breaker work through Wonder Guard?

Yes

http://www.smogon.com/dp/abilities/mold_breaker

If this Pokémon attacks and the target's ability would prevent the effects of the attack from taking place, or hinder the effects of the move, the ability is temporarily nullified while the attack is in progress. Abilities that prevent status such as Limber are deactivated during the attack which allows a Pokémon that has one to be affected by the status they prevent, but the ability cures the status immediately after the attack.
Abilities nullified are:
•Battle Armor
•Clear Body
•Damp
•Dry Skin (including the added damage from Fire moves)
•Filter
•Flash Fire
•Flower Gift
•Heatproof
•Hyper Cutter
•Immunity
•Inner Focus
•Insomnia
•Keen Eye
•Leaf Guard
•Levitate
•Lightningrod
•Limber
•Magma Armor
•Marvel Scale
•Motor Drive
•Oblivious
•Own Tempo
•Sand Veil
•Shell Armor
•Shield Dust
•Simple
•Snow Cloak
•Solid Rock
•Soundproof
•Sticky Hold
•Storm Drain
•Sturdy
•Suction Cups
•Tangled Feet
•Thick Fat
•Unaware
•Vital Spirit
•Volt Absorb
•Water Absorb
•Water Veil
•White Smoke

The average is 54 Base Power or 45.9 when you take accuracy into acount. Definitely replace it with Dizzy Punch when you get it since the only way Comet Punch can have more Base Power is if it hits all 5 times and it will only have 76.5 Base Power when you take accuracy into account.

Mean Look+Taunt works just as well, since they'll always try to run first turn, and will only think of using Roar starting the second. I personally use a Mean Look/Taunt/Hypnosis/False Swipe Gallade for runners, and it works pretty well.

Thanks, exactly the answer I was looking for!

Another question:

Has anybody defined a good method of dowsing for items in the pokewalker? I'm pretty bad at it.

Is the RNG in Sapphire/Ruby the same as Emerald? I saw some videos of RNGing in Emerald, but a friend is selling his Ruby and Sapphire games, so, I want to know if is worth to buy one of them for RNG. Thanks in advice

Didn't get answered, so I'll ask again, does Pain Split cause the user to take LO recoil if it has LO? It does on Shoddy, but I'm curious if this happens ingame as well.

(Posting from DSi!) I don't think it does because Pain Split never gets a Base Power so there's no increase.
And busam, just post team building questions here and we'll try to help

Pain Split doesn't actually do damage so it shouldn't cause LO to hit you.

Edit: @ Naxte: I didn't think that would work since I thought they would react to Mean Look with Roar instantly. That's probably the best way to do it, though.

Hey guys. Got a question.

After the whole RNG generator process I have found myself stuck on the final step. And that is hitting the target delay.

I can easily hit the target time to the second, hit the frame and hit the delay range. But I just cant seem to hit the exact delay.

I am going for 629 on frame 12 with the target time of 18:00:14.

Any suggestions for improving delay accuracy?

Oh good. So that means i'm not doing something wrong. Although I have hit 628 and 630 about 5 times each.

I also read something about the delay being consistantly odd or even. And that it had something to do with the presence of a 3rd generation game in the GBA slot. Would that be contributing to me getting 628 and 630 alot?

Also thanks for the help.

Are there any HG/SS EVing guides out yet? I don't want to have to go to Diamond/Platinum to EV train.

Alright, surf in Blackthorn city, 100% chance of finding Magikarp (speed), or surf in Slowpoke well, 100% chance of finding Slowpoke (HP). If you need other EVs besides these, just use the power items.

There IS a Magikarp trainer, but he can only be rematched once a week on thursdays. Not very practical. Hope this helped.
