IV chain breeding

So I've figured out how to IV chain breed to have 3 perfect IV's and the nature I want relatively easy with HGSS breeding methods.

If I understand breeding correctly, a total of 3 IV's are passed from either parent.

So meaning the other 3 IV's are always completely random.

Am I correct?

or is there a way to pass 4 or more perfect IV's during breeding?

In Pokémon Emerald, the process is similar but more complicated. First, a random IV is passed from one of the parents to the baby. Afterwards, a random IV of any stat other than HP, is inherited from either parent to the baby. If this IV is from the same stat as the first IV (not necessarily the same IV value, depending on whether or not the same parent passed it on), it will override it. Finally, another random IV of any stat other than HP and Defense, is passed from one of the parents to the baby. This IV will override any of the previous two if it is from the same stat. The remaining stats (a number ranging from 3 to 5) are determined at random, again with the possibility of one or more IVs coinciding with those of the parents.

The last sentence in bold makes it sound like all 6 IV's can come from both parents...

now I'm confused cuz this is the first time reading something like that...

It means it's a coincidence if a child's randomly generated IV just so happens to be the same as one of the parents.

Any more advice for me here?

Odd question here: I've been playing in the Battle Frontier with my new Surfing Pikachu, and she's quite the powerhouse. But as a Pikachu she's hardly bulky, and there's some things she just can't take out. What would be some good Pokemon (preferably not OU) to complement her? I had a quick look at NU analyses for ideas and Miltank stood out to me, but I don't know how good an idea that is.

How do I get both Counter and Fake Out on a Weavile?

There's this magical thing called Smeargle that can get any combination of Ground egg group egg moves onto any Ground egg group Pokemon. :]

Get a male Smeargle and have it sketch Counter and Fake Out and breed it with a female member of the Weavile family. It's easier to accomplish if you engage a double battle with Smeargle and Pokemon that know your moves and have you sketch your own partner.

In the event that a pokemon had two perfect IVs, the IV man in emerald and platinum would change which stat he would mention as being "perfect". Sometimes it would be, lets say speed, and other times he'd say, lets say special attack. Does the IV man in Gold Silver work the same way?

I've bred a poke with a perfect sp atk, and then bred him with a ditto with perfect speed. Both parents are holding their respective power items. Their kid should have perfect sp atk and speed, but the IV man is only giving me a pefect sp atk reading. So, is he different, or have I misunderstood how this IV breeding stuff works in Gold?

When you battle in-game trainers, do they gradually get better? If so, how long/how many battles until their pokemon level up?

Okay, so I need to know, when you evolve Nincanda and get a Shedinja, are those EVs passed on to Sheddy or does it start over at 0? (I assume they are passed on, but I want to check since I found a adamant one in my box on Ruby)

Passed on. Even so, you can still use EV reducing berries.

Yes you are able to re-release the legendaries but, you have to beat the Elite Four again.
Are you absolutely sure? If you knock them out in battle they respawn upon beating the Elite Four. But I doubt this is the case if you catch and then release them.

I was hoping this was the case, as I know it works for Roamers. But, I'll save and stuff, just in case. Thanks, guys.
The game autosaves after beating the Elite Four. If Lugia doesn't reappear after you caught and released it, you'll have to start a new game to get Lugia.
