yo
we don't like canadians invading our turf in seattle.

allow me to destroy you.

i will see you there in my home state. prepare for battle.

alright

just let me saddle up my polar bear

and i will meet you on the battlefield

If anyone is going to seattle, do me a favor and BEAT HER! I do NOT want to be forced into doing this:

<drcossack> and Yeti, if by some miracle you win seattle, I will become a fan of the Yankees.

jafksbkudfkasdbkj dude come on

i am a pretty cool chick if i do say so myself

you know, spending 76472836 hours playing pokemon

come on, how is that not attractive mirite

It's an event made with a second tier for kids who were born iirc after 1998, it's not going to go late, and though you may do some things with your friends before prom, the real stuff happens after it.

Win at Pokemon, then go to prom and score and/or spend the rest of the night with your friends. Life is good.

I'm going to Newark. How good are the hack checkers? Will they be able to tell if all of my stuff is cloned from Deztroya or various Smogon redis'? Or do I actually have to learn RNG now.

I couldn't get a date to prom and the only naked women I've seen irl are my mom on accident and my dad's Playboys.

As a result I am now bitter over prom and focus all my energy and sexual tension into Pokemon, my only release.
oh ok.

Feathers:
I will see you in Seattle. I expect your polar bear to be available for images.

We will duel to the death of the last mon for the glory of the northwest.

I need to know that as well.

oh sorry, he is camera shy and might break your legs if you try to take pictures

but i will be there

waiting

....and probably tired from the drive up. Seriously, like 2 hours on the road. I'll probably be hungry or something too. Last year I was so nervous I could only eat 1 hashbrown from McDonald's.

That's a really good point.

You know what I think is hilarious about the Last Chance Qualifier? There's one at Nationals and Worlds. Meaning it's not actually the last chance. This means a rich player can just fly over to Hawaii, and get in at the LCQ and advance further in the VGC than a player with no travel money who won their Regional Championship, but didn't place at Nationals.

Or advance over a motherfucking European player who placed 3rd/4th and cannot afford the fuck trip to Hawaii because it'll cost them more than 2000$ just to goddamn get there -________________-----------------

Also, I'm still bitter over TPCi that they don't have us take a companion to there like they had us last year so that essentially Europe's spots got shortened. Also the last chance qualifier at Worlds is pure irony. Last year the German crew had 6 members, 3 of them who went with the ones that qualified and they all were really good, ask mattj, and there was NO LCQ. Now this year, when I probably cannot take someone with me if I win, they have a LCQ. It's like they're taunting us.

And nothing beats this crap with announcing the VGC in Italian but not having an Italian qualifier. TPCi fucked up big time there. But I guess I have no right to say anything because I was lucky enough to make my way to Worlds last year.

Poor Italians omg.

Oh well, I suppose they´ve chosen Lyon and Cologne instead Paris or Berlin because these two cities are a lot easier for the italians to travel than the two capitals.

No all expenses paid for 2nd? Weak. That's sweet that there's no lottery and that so many get an invite though.

And are they saying that if I'm over 18 they won't pay for someone to go with me?!

Well, you know... I've not lived with a pokemon qualifier near me till this year... it sucks absolutely, but it's just kind of something you have to deal with. Either you want to travel, you believe in your team or drive that much that it makes you want to travel or you don't... it's your choice. It Sucks that you have to make this choice, but it's one that you have to make (no clue why I"m typing in italics, accidentally hit a button, I'd assume)... the pokemon VGC can't cater to everyone... that's for sure.

Exactly this is what they're saying and I repeat it again that they effectively cut Europe's viable spots in half since no one can afford the damn trip to Hawaii...

@ cloud9, obviously not, if they had announced them you would know from the vgc page... leaving out Australia... TPCi fucked up big time.

Ffs, they never bring vgc to Australia -.-
We hardly ever get events either :\

Um, Milan is as near of Lyon as Paris of Lyon, isn´t it?

I´m spanish and angry to Nintendo by the BIG slap in the face they´ve done to the italians after posting the rules in Italian. But it seems Nintendo plan is:
-Birmingham: UK and Ireland.
-Cologne: Germans, and people from Netherlands and Belgium.
-Lyon: Frenchs, and maybe Italians too since Lyon is nearer from North Italy than Cologne from Berlin.
-Madrid: Spain and Portugal.

Distances checked.
-Cologne to Berlin: 575 km.
-Hamburg to Cologne: 446 km.
-Munich to Cologne: 592 km.

-Paris to Lyon: 481 km.
-Milan to Lyon: 450 km.
-Turin to Lyon: 280 km.
-Genoa to Lyon: 541 km.
---
-Rome to Lyon: 1066 km.

-Barcelona to Madrid: 628 km.

North Italians can compete without problems in Lyon. The problem is for people from the South of Italy starting in Rome.

Metang with. You should go to Lyon, try to win it, and complain to the organisators of why the hell they didn´t put a tournament in Italy. For my part, I´ve sent an e-mail to Nintendo complaining about the treatement italians have received.

I will agree that they could have handled things a lot better, but I mean damn. I (and the overwhelming majority of people who registered) didn't even get to play last year! Anything is better than that. The US entry system with 768 is six times the amount they let in last year so everyone that attends should be able to compete. And 256 in Europe seems reasonable because some stops didn't even fill up there last year. Also 9-16th at Nationals in America have to pay to get to Hawaii too so it's not just Europe.

It's a lot more expensive BI, that's why I am so enraged man. Of course, no lottery and 256 people allowed in here is really nice but on the other hand I do ask myself if they seriously expect people to pay that trip...

I just looked up a UA flight from LA to Kona, round trip costs 510 Euro which roughly translates to 663$. A Lufthansa flight from Munich or Frankfurt Airport in Germany is close to 2000$. I mean 600$ is still a buncha money but it's affordable if you got a job but I don't know what job I should take to save 2000$ in less than two months, given the case I finish 3rd or 4th in a qualifier.

Madrid tournament is going to be holy madness.
-Last year Madrid already had the biggest participation of Europe, being unnoficial. More than 200 persons were out 'cause lottery.
-Last year people from ALL Europe went to Paris because it was the last chance to qualify to the WC.
-This year Madrid is the last European tournament.

The only con is Madrid geographycal sithuation in Europe but holy g-Madrid tournament promises to be MADNESS.
