Pokemon Black & White, aka Gen 5. Coming to Japan in Fall 2010.

There needn't be a cover trio. Black and White are such obvious opposites that there could be a duo relating to them. The third version would then have a cover legend that was distinct. Kind of like how GS was Ho-oh and Lugia, then C was Suicune.

That's why I said "6-8" pokémon, even though I clearly enumerated 8. The third cover legendary might be a Suicune, or this gen's Arceus (or Deoxys, what have you).

I highly doubt Deoxys or Arceus. I highly doubt any event Pokemon like those 2, Celebi, Jirachi, Mew, etc will be version mascots. It wouldn't make sense, mainly because you would need to download the mystery gift in order to catch the version mascot, unless it looses it's event status....

Could Black and White possibly be in the Orange Islands?
Don't mean to burst ur bubble, but probably not. I'm afraid that we probably not going to be seeing the orange islands anytime soon.....

I mainly say this because:

a) It would have been mentioned/some relations/hints would show.

b) When Ash was there, there was no Zoroark.

Maybe if they make RSE Remakes, considering the orange islands are tropical and that Hoenn is tropical.....maybe.....

I wonder what they will do if they make RSE remakes seeing Kyogre/Groudon are exclusive to certain versions.....Ho-Oh and Lugia were not exclusive, and neither was Mewtwo.....

There might be just one legendary Pokemon, like Mewtwo back in RBY......Or maybe just a legend that has nothing to do w/ the storyline at all.......But there probably will be 2 version mascots and one outlier b/c they have to outdo how epic Platinum was supposed to be.....

I don't know if Cress, Heatran, and Regi were legends. They seem more like "exotic" Pokemon (a term I got from PBR). They don't have stats completely through the roof (cept Regigigas' attack) and as such, were just 1 of a kind and special.

I wouldn't be too stumped if it was all urban and based on today's world (hopefully, the grunts won't be horrifyingly incompetent). They desperately need some more good fire types. Remember in D/P, the Fire E4 member only had 2 Fire Pokemon? And only 2 fire Pokemon are ever used b/c SR and Blaziken is too slow. I'm hoping for something faster than Ape w/ more Attack/Sp Attack. Like Blaziken but w/ the same Sp Attack or same Attack and 110 speed.

A fire type Starmie or Fire Weavile come to mind.

Well they said it would be a new region when he held up the Silhouette for the first time on Pokemon Sunday.

It's not up to date, it's just that nobody noticed him say it and focused more on what Zoroark was.

And we have OK Grass types, they just have easily exploited weaknesses/someone can do the same thing better.

It would be awesome if Rapid Spin was an HM.

There is obviously a magnetic cave somewhere on the map (Glowing floating rocks in the photograph) were Magneton and Nosepass evolve. Chances are, there will be a forest for Leafeon and Glacion will have some snowy plain unless the Moss/Frost Rocks become items like in Mystery Dungeon.

There is also an increased chance of a forest/snow/cave to keep the entire map becoming urbanized and so there will be a fresh change in scenery and somewhere to find wild Pokemon. Maybe even making those areas small to emphasize how deforestation and the like are creating a more industrial world

Or it could turn out that only 1 or 2 cities are huge, giant skyscraper filled places, and that aside from those, you have more "suburben" areas and even countrysidess at the far edges.

huh... So what? They can keep Kyogre only in <Whatever>Sapphire Version and Groudon in <SomethingElse>Ruby Version, no problem. There's always been version exclusive pokémon.

As long as we don't get another Sinnoh, I'm all for it.

lol. What was wrong w/ Sinnoh? It wasn't my favorite region, but It wasn't the worst, either.

Ya, but that's not as interesting, lol.

Your probably right, though......

I wonder if one city is all futuristic with a Gym Leader that has a mechanical arm/leg.

What do you think the type would be? Or do you think they would just slap on steel b/c it's mechanical?

I would like to see themed gyms, as gone over, like TR and Tailwind....Maybe even a few double battles. Have the gyms be based on Battling strategies instead of types.

On the region, it would be pretty sweet to see it be below Hoenn and next to the Sevii Islands, and make it all mysterious w/ many unexplored new areas if not an urbanized are. Make completing the Pokedex more interesting by having the protagonist take notes and pictures as he goes because not even the area's professor knows whats exactly there. Islands 6 and 7 are the farthest south, and both have strange ruins....As well as Birth Island being next door....
It would probably be snowy in certain areas there, though, seeing that's pretty far south and probably near the south pole.

Maybe next to Sinjoh ruins, practically on top of the world (north pole) to make it just as mysterious....Although probably not seeing the city in pretty mild weather...

It was like GF just plucked up a bunch of climates and decided to mix it all up into one large island. (Well, two, counting the final area) The layout wasn't very well designed either, especially with that big rock right smack in the middle of it all.

Mt Cornet wasn't that bad being in the middle, but the climates are a bit out of whack....Snowpoint being encased in snow even though Sinnoh is actually really far south and there are many non-snowy climate areas above it....And the fact that the Fight Area is almost parallel to it and has Palm Trees......Now I see what you mean....

Hmm...if the gym is a creepy, clock tower in the middle of the city, I'd go with...damn, Time isn't a type...Steel T.T
Lol. Clock Tower, creepy......You can have a time theme w/ Celebi, Dialga, and Xatu....Maybe Pory 3 / Pory Z to represent how technology changes.....But you have to realize why that won't work, lol....How does having a mechanical leg relate to the future? You mean like in the future movies where Cyborgs are omnipresent?

Dark. With his main Pokemon being Dark/Steel type. Features lots of sleep inducing moves as well as ones that deal with time, such as Perish Song, Yawn (Hittin' two birds with one stone), and Destiny Bond (When a Pokemon's time ends?). Trick room could be a theme, as well as moves which increase or decrease Speed (The time at which Pokemon attack), or even priority moves (Bypasses time to move first).

Yea. I just saw a Fringe episode and there was a lady with a mechanical arm and I thought a gym leader should be like that. I'm not exactly sure how Celebi and Dialga would be in a gym but Xatu, maybe. Psychic? Dark? Steel? I don't know...

Silhouette or not; I'll be happy to get a bunch of ink splatters on a piece of cardboard. Any new info will be satisfactory for me! lol

I really hope it reveals more Pokemon and not more on the region. I would rather get a new Pokemon and be able to piece together the style of the new Pokemon and maybe even more on the region from that.

Dialga and Celebii are the reasons I was pointing out why my time-theme idea wouldn't work. That one pirate guy from the Pokemon ranger movie had some kind of mechanical skeleton over his body....
Xatu I said b/c It has the ability to see in the future and is infamous for it. Probably Psychic if it's futuristic, seeing things like Future Sight, Miracle Eye, and Psychic types having supernatural powers around 85% of the time.

On a separate note, I wouldn't be surprised if Pokemon Black versions mascot was based on Fog, while White on Sun or something like that (opposite of Fog, obviously). Or maybe both based on fog but one defensive and based on avoiding damage and taking hits and one offensive w/ powerful moves that don't miss.

It would be awesome if Black took place in a separate region than white, and after you beat the game, you unlock the region from the opposite generation. One can be urbanized, the other relatively country/mysterious w/ ruins etc.

This thread has been deprived of info for way too long. Even if it is a silhouette, that's enough to determine the general style and bulk that it will be. I hope that it's either one of the cover legendarys or a starter pokemon. Considering how long since the last update, though, I think that it's safe to say that this will be a full reveal and not just a teaser.

I hope.

Serebii mentioned something about a new Pokemon being revealed in an anime episode, but that's supposedly a rumor/unconfirmed or something along those lines.

I'm afraid they might not reveal much......why anything will satisfy me. They might be hesitant seeing how the Americas knew about the game almost the same week it was mentioned in Japan.

If they reveal a starter, they will probably reveal the other 2 as well. Keeping them together to avoid confusion.
