I think the left one is a Water-type mermaid, the middle one is a Grass-type rabbit with leaves on its head, and the right one is Fire since neither of the others is Fire.

THOUGH IT KIND OF DOES LOOK LIKE A MEW PRE-VO FROM THE SILHOUETTE.

I like how no-one agrees which is which. My view:

Top is Grass. I don't see what those things could be on top of its presumed head other than leaves. If I'm correct, then my prediction before the silhouettes were revealed was right, and Game Freak are really unoriginal.

Left is Water. I think it's something a bit weird, with a head loosely based on a duck, and that funny shaped tail.

That leaves Right as Fire. Nothing screams out fire in the silhouette, but then if you saw one of Vulpix, Growlithe, Numel, or even Heatran, would you think it was fire-type?

not really...from the end of the tail where I marked, fire doesn't curve down and then up like that. They always draw the bottom of a fire like the bottom of a dew drop. It has to be some kind of plant.

@Staraptor Call: If the middle one has leaves on its head, then it would have no ears to be a rabbit.

My interpretation. Don't penalize me too much, I haven't used Paint in while. The bottom left could be either w/ a beak or a head similar to Celebi's.
 
That diagram kind of proves that it is grass, and that those are leaves. It could be fins, But I don't think they would curve so much.
 
Rein, the bunny thing is incredibly feasible in my mind. I'm still hoping the grass is facing us, not looking up.

Also IMO the "tail" would have more of a webbing than just going up and down.
 
I still don't understand, why would the starters be revealed out of regular 'dex order (Grass, Fire, Water)? Has there ever been an announcement where the starters were out of their regular 'dex order, or am I just confused?

This was exactly what I was thinking too. Sadly, I don't have an answer.

Someone I know said that the red orb on the rabbit's tail could be on fire....Just dormant in the picture (similar to Cyndiquil's back is probably what they meant).

Chances are it's a beak on the grass one, considering as someone said on this thread it follows a patter.

There were three dragon like starters in a row (Charizard, Feraligator, Sceptile)

There are 3 bird Pokemon in a row (Torchic, Piplup, new Grass Pokemon)




The way I see it goes in order from Grass-Fire-Water, so chances are I at least got the typing right....
 
I really think the one on the right is the Grass one and the one in the middle is the Fire type. Everyone seems to assume that the things on the right one's tail is fire but the same can be said about the middle one's head. Also, I'm more fond of the idea that the things on its tail are leaves and a Fire pig makes just as much sense as a Grass pig. The right one also has a similar head to Celebi and Flygon which makes me think it could gain a secondary type of Bug, and while that would be pretty terrible when paired with Grass, it seems to fit better that Fire/Bug. Also, I think the one on the right might be a beaver considering its most likely Water and it tail and head look similar to a beaver's.

We can safely say it's a water type, seeing it has the right features, and everyone here agrees, apparently...

I was just thinking maybe the supposed grass starter could be part bug and what I though was a beak could be a horn.....

Yea...someone got rid of the picture of a fire that looks like a rabbit breathing fire. I'm guessing Haunter. I'm trying to do the 4th generation silhouettes but Photoshop is acting funny right now.
