Woooah dude, leaked final grass starter evoo
A_dragon.png
(It's grass/dragon if you couldn't tell)

Glad I'm not the only one that thought that!

The one thing I don't think gamefreak will do is give any of the starters a super crappy Atk/SpA, just because a lot of kidlets won't understand why certain say, fire attacks do more than others. For all the people putting spreads about the fire pig up, do you really think having such a massive attack stat is good for a fire type? Fire has crap physical moves. They have flare blitz, and personally I hate recoil moves. Especially if it is bulky, having to use flare blitz will kinda make being bulky kinda pointless. Hard to wall crap/take hits well when you damage yourself everytime you attack

Dude, think about what you're saying here. New generation means new moves. Some of those moves might be new physical Fire-type moves. Problem solved.

Even if there aren't new moves, if the Fire-type starter has high HP and Attack, it makes a perfect user of Flare Blitz.

I think they were speaking as if it would have a Fire/Ground Typing. Ground having Earthquake to it's name, meaning a High attack stat would work well.

also, new moves, meaning possible physical fire attacks, like TheMaskedNitpicker said.

Game Freak has only shown us 1.5 moves so far: Claw Sharpen, and Trickery (it's a half-revealed move because unlike Claw Sharpen, we have no idea how it works.)

Game Freak is bound to give us something better than Blaze Kick/Flare Blitz/worst case scenario Fire Fang on this mon, I feel sure of it, and I bet Game Freak will probably flesh out its move type combinations.

Also, remember most kids would give Feraligatr Surf (even after they get Waterfall...yeah...), Alakazam Psycho Cut, and though I admit to doing so myself, Torterra Leaf Storm.
Kids pick Meganium.

So yeah, it's not like they wouldn't do something stupid like run Luvdisc anyway.

71 is usable in-game, just make it like Ape and give it Flare Blitz/new epic physical fire move last.

I guess there's always the possibility of new fire attacks... but every fire starter thus far HAS been a mix attacker. Then again, they've also been a little frailer, and this guy's probably gonna be bulky. I just haaate recoil moves >.<

Still, it definitely makes sense from a flavor standpoint. Boars tend to charge recklessly...I also see this thing getting Double-Edge via level-up.

And it'll still get high HP due to being a hog, so Flare Blitz is at least semi-bearable if they decide Charizard is more deserving of the new physical Fire-typed EQ move Game Freak is cooking up.

Dude. Stop hating on Meganium. It's getting so damn annoying. We get it so now just shhhh....

Yeah I guess so, eh? Never really thought about the reckless charging, good point. Let's hope Arcanine gets that fire typed EQ move XD

Here's what I think

Grass Starter

Will have:
Leaf Storm (was actually in a screen shot)
Razor Leaf (needs some weaker STAB for early in-game, and Vine Whip makes no sense)
Tackle
Solar Beam
Giga Drain
Return
Protect
Rest
Frustration

Might have:
Tail Whip
Aqua Tail
Claw Sharpen (the new attack announced)
Seed Bomb
Sunny Day
Grass Whistle

Fire Starter
(Bacon!)

Will Have:

Flamethrower (in screen shot)
Fire Blast
Overheat
Tackle
Return
Protect
Frustration
Rest

Might have:

Dig
Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Growl/Tail Whip

Water Starter

Will Have:

Water Pulse (in screen shot)
Surf
Return
Frustration
Protect
Rest
Ice Beam
Blizzard

Might Have:
Waterfall
Growl
Hail
Rain Dance

I don't like recoil moves either, but I highly doubt GF would make this the physical we're all imagining and not come up with a better physical fire attack (hope for Flareon, anyone?)

I actually think that one of the starters might learn Thunderbolt, the Water Starter might, I mean Gyarados does, and others do.

Probably not. The water type seems more cute than a Tyrant.....Gyara was supposed to be over powered, but special split hindered his special move pool. Starmie is variant for who-knows why, lol

I'm just waiting for the Water and Grass versions of Flare Blitz. You know it's gonna happen, and lol at Gyarados when it does.

The Grass and Fire starters have good chances to be OU or at least viable in OU based on their appearances and the fact that all starters have over base 500 BST. However... I'm worried about the Water starter, since he has so much to compete with. If he really does turn out to be Water/Ice, how will he be set apart from Pokemon like Walrein or Lapras?

Sceptile, Blaziken, Swampert, Infernape and Empoleon were all OU in their respective generations, so I doubt that GF would leave the fire pig as the useless fire "wall" we envisage. Equally, I'm sure the other two will be pretty good, but probably outclassed by Swampert and Infernape.

Stuff like this pisses me off. What's special about Charmander Bulbasaur or Squirtle apart from the fact that you grew up with them? It's people hating on the new generations of Pokémon that make me look back and question my own gen. You could just as easily say Charmander is some designless fire lizard thing, Bulbasaur is a whatthefuck I don't even know with a plant thing on it's back and Squirtle is a gay wee turtle. Of course we don't say that because a) it's wrong and b) there's no bandwagon/meme brigade to stick up for us and help us out.

Oh, I love how you start accusing me of attacking the simplicity of the starters when I gave no negative comments towards them. So I pointed out that they're simple, so what? Was it because I was being a bit offensive, or something? If you would have understood my post, you would have realized that I was addressing the person's claim that the new generation is overly designed, which it isn't.

I love the starters for this generation. The water starter could have been done a bit better, but I don't hate it. Besides, we still have the final evolutions to look forward to.

...Wood hammer already exists?

EDIT: Ninjask'd...

And we suspect Pokabu's evolution, by virtue of the fact boars are broad in belly and large in tusks, will get a high HP stat and a high attack stat. Rest is a wildcard.

So we're invisioning a tank akin to a physical Heatran, in a sense.

Yeah, this'll probably get outclassed, but at least it's unique...

Interesting... If you look at the battle scenes, you'll notice that the game is very much still in development-- the attack animations for certain attacks like Leaf Storm and Water Pulse/Aura Sphere especially have still not been made. I'm surprised they would release screenshots with leftover data in them. Shouldn't it have been Game Freak's priority to complete screens before releasing them...?

Oh, and it looks like the bar's best friend rectangle went and got himself killed, because now the Pokemon's health bar is literally just a bar.

Yeah, I noticed that they removed the background for the status area. I like it, actually: Makes it look modern.
