I'm having a bit of trouble countering the Dialga/Clefairy TR combo (with Follow Me). What's the best way to counter them and prevent TR being set up?

Well, if you know Clefairy is going to use Follow Me, attack the Dialga as if you were double-targetting it. It's fairly simple.

Even if the attacks aren't super-effective or anything, two consecutive hits in one turn can knock out Pokemon relatively easily.

Or, just arm someone with Low Kick. It'll take out both Clefairy and Dialga without breaking a sweat.

Imprision is probably the only easy way to do it. Double Earthquake might get the job done as well. Rock Slide flinch works but is very unreliable. Dark Void sometimes works if Dialga doesn't have a status healing berry.

Dialga's defences are very OP. i hit it with water spout hoping its steel type would cause it to take a big hit but dialga didnt. and dragon type moves dont do that much thanks to his steel type. what are a few good common moves that put a heavy dent in dialga for me to revenge kill him easy. i am geussing ice is even worse than dragon moves on him. and i dont have any big fighting moves except for mach punch from breakdancr, i do have flamethrower but after that i am screwed and i dont even know if i was in the situation to hit him with a mach punch+flamethrower if thats even enough to ko dialga, hmmm i need a damage calculater

Fighting moves

Life Orbed Technician boosted STAB Mach Punch takes most HP Invested Dialgas down to 20% or less.

nice, now i just need to keep practicing and omg i cant wait to see who comes out on top in san francisco. and for vids to see what teams were popular, my whole team could change based on what was seen most u never know. especially if its something that was both in seattle and san-fran

btw any of u guys who have hg/ss with 40 battle points [or platinum with 6 blue shard and 2 yellow shards] wanna help me teach my "breakdancer" the move sucker punch plz. i can offer u something like my timid lvl 47 untrained palkia. just pm and lets talk :) plz and ty

Someone said possibly having a honchkrow with super luck to abuse the crit hax's that are happening, but what would be better, a honchkrow with super luck or a honchkrow with insomnia. Both abilities are great to have in vgc, but I still cant tell which one is better?

well I understand why, and I am aware that a super luck pokemon with a razor claw doing an attack with high crit ratio has 50% chance to crit, but insomnia prevents sleep hax. I guess my question is, are there enough sleep hax users to make having insomnia more important than super luck?

Ok cool. I guess that also makes a lum berry less important than a life orb or some other attack boosting item, or is a lum berry still as important this year even though there are less dark void smeargles this year than last year?

How do you think this team would fare?

Heatran@???-Quiet-Eruption-Earth Power/Dragon Pulse-Explosion-Protect
Bronzong@???-Sassy-Trick Room-Light Screen-Gyro Ball-Explosion
Groudon@???-Brave-Earthquake-Rock Slide-Protect-Lava Plume/Dragon Claw/???
Giratina@Griseous Orb-Brave???-Draco Meteor-Shadow Force-???-???

Giratina is a big MAYBE. The raw power of Heatran's Eruption is impeccable. I think it will be easier to pull it off than a Kyogre Water Spout because I can bring in the weather on the same turn. Eruption in the sun is easily a OHKO on Groudon and most other things I find common in VGC videos. Imagine if I'm able to get him a Flash Fire boost through lava plume too. Probably will be holding Charcoal or Flame Plate, possibly Wise Glasses. I have no idea how this will work out and I really need help editing it. If anyone has the spare time and compassion, please help. Thanks in advance.

More theorymoning:

Bronzong@???-Sassy-Trick Room-Rain Dance-Gyro Ball-Explosion
Kyogre@Macho Brace-Quiet-Water Spout-Ice Beam-Thunder/Surf-Protect
Rayquaza@Life Orb-Brave-Draco Meteor-Extremespeed-Fire Blast-Dragon Claw/???
---Maybe Machamp@Leftovers?-Brave-DynamicPunch-ThunderPunch-Ice Punch-Falcon Punch/???
---Maybe Breloom@Poison Orb-Brave-Spore-Seed Bomb-Rock Slide/Leech Seed/Substitute/???-Brick Break/Focus Punch/???

After "researching" some more, I figured Kyogre's Water Spout is much better than Heatran's Eruption and this team aims to abuse it to oblivion. Kyogre is slower than shit so you're pretty much guaranteed weather on your side. With the rain up, not much can take Bronzong down so try to twist the dimensions. If you feel he is too frail, you can use Cresselia instead, but you will be lacking offensively. Once you have the dimensions twisted, use a full power water spout+rain dance from your partner because 90% chance that they will switch to auto weather(organize the iv's so that bronzong goes first though). now you can either water spout again or protect and explode. Rayquaza is mainly for last resort situations where they got another weather up. He can rip through a pokemon with Draco Meteor and then extremespeed anyone in the red/low yellow. machamp has the versatility and power(Falcon Pawnch!!!) and the confusion from dynamicpunch is great when it's on your side, while breloom is guaranteed to cripple/destroy one of their pokemon with spore.

Run Shuca Berry on Heatran. Also, consider how the moves you are using on Groudon will affect your pokemon. Using lava plume with Bronzong out and Earthquake with Heatran out isnt a good idea

Quick Question: Hydro Pump or Surf on Ludicolo? Are there any noticable 1HKO/2HKO from Hydro Pump, or is the two opponent cover and more PP from surf better?

and the accuracy. but i think there are some important ohko. oh and even with shuca berry, groudon kills heatran with eq. that team wasn't working out so can you please rate my other one below it? and if it isn't too much, can you fill in the ???s. thanks for all the help.

The second team works better than the first. By utilising rain, you leave Brozong with no weaknesses effectivly. On Bronzong, maybe Light Screen over Rain Dance, and lum berry is the best item. Remeber that Rayqauaza ability makes rain pointless. However he is good at controlling weather. He could however hold Yache Berry or Focus Sash, which work well with ExtremeSpeed. Also, Air Slash or maybe Aerial Ace could used. Ludicolo and Toxicroak are threats to rain dance, and a flying move covers both of then. Probably Machamp over Breloom. Machamp should drop ThunderPunch. Against Kyogre Thundepunch is 150 Base Power, DynamicPunch is also 150, making thunderpunch useless. Rock Slide is good on Machamp, and your fourth move should be either Payback or Protect, but Protect is arguable better in VGC, and Giritina is covered by Ice Punch. Kyogre is fine. Hope this helped

Just a simple Question: Does a Pokemon get the EV-Boosts in the VGC when it is downgraded to Level 50, even if it got its whole EVs only at Level 100?
