Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Having trouble with shiny eggs in HG/SS.

So I got my delay, put the parents into the Daycare, and reject the egg until I got Frame 14. I take Egg 14, and hatch it. Wasn't shiny. I look it on on RNG Reporter and said I got Frame 24 or something like that. So I tried calling Elm to advance ahead, but that didn't work either.

Here's some things that might have messed me up.

1. NPC Movement
2. Calls from the Daycare Man
3. At one point Joey called me wanting me to rematch.

This is tougher than I thought...

You might want to look at my guides in my thread. That way you can check what you're doing against what I do. I never reject more than one egg. I use Joey to advance. And, though I don't have it in the guide just yet (will edit), I think Mondays are a bad day because Joey wants a rematch Mondays.

Hello all, I'm fairly new here and to competitive Pokemon. I've been having some difficulties getting RNG abuse to work, hoping someone can point out what I'm doing wrong.

So here's what's happening;

successfully calibrated, getting mostly 14s with delay between 618-620

Using this data I have found a target time from the time finder.

Using my most recent attempt as an example, i was trying to hit a seed at 4:51:57 (or something similar)

Now correct me if i'm wrong, but I'm supposed to reset my game 14s before this time right? So that I load into the game at that moment.

So I reset, and flip my coins, straight away, wrong coins. Input my sequence into the reporter and it says my time was spot on.... but the delay I achieved was 609??

So I'm confused here, how come during my calibration i was consistently getting between 618-620 and now I'm getting 609. Does moving my clock backwards effect this? And if so, what do I do to combat this.

I've read the guide 3 times and watched numerous youtube vids on the process... got no idea what i've missed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry that I keep asking questions, but when abusing in Platinum, if you use clock resets to get shinies and IVs, you won't have to use the tap method, right? (Because I don't think I can do so many taps without getting distracted, even with all the tips I've been given on how to keep track of them... I think I can if I have to, but I don't want to if I can just use clock resetting, since I'm decent at that =P)

Also, because of HGSS inheritance, I'll need specific parents, whereas I won't in Platinum, correct? e.g. in HGSS, if I want a Pokémon flawless and my seeds are 31/31/31/B/B/B and A/A/A/31/31/31, I'll need parents with the inverse IV spreads. But in Platinum I won't?

You don't need specific parents in HGSS. I've been using a perfect ditto with any other parent I have on hand. It helps to have a good second parent, but it isn't absolutely necessary. I do the same thing in Platinum. When you use Time Finder, you just tell it to use the parents IVs and Time Finder will search for a seed that uses those IVs and also uses any IVs that the game can make available if the other parent has nothing worth using.

Yes, you can use time finder to pick a seed with a shiny in DPPt.

Reposting my question:

I'm landing on uneven adjacent frames. Target frame is 18, and I'm consistently landing on frame 17 of the adjacents. Is there something I can do to make it more likely to land on an even frame?

if this is on DPPt: there's not much, you can try waiting a very small amount of time so hopefully one more NPC will move and give you the frame you want but most likely you will have to recalibrate your frame.
-I am assuming this is DPPt since this isn't a usual problem in HG/SS

That's why I've said that breeding in HGSS is a lot easier than in Dppt. You don't have to worry about landing on the wrong frame. What I used to do in Platinum was save with the Buneary inside the little house, and use it's position along the fences to know when to pick the egg. But it usually took a long time to get right.

Yeah, I forgot about these annoyances when I was doing that slew of breeding projects on HGSS. Then I went back to Platinum and it smacked me in the head. :-(

I'm trying to RNG the Enigma stone Latias and I'm having some trouble landing on the right frame. I need to land on frame 114, or 112 once you factor in that I have one roamer + latias' monster frame.

So the first time I did 10 calls to elm (+10) and 51 calls to joey (+102). But then landed on frame 133.

So thats 19 off what I wanted so I decided to make 1 less call to elm and 9 fewer calls to joey to land on my frame.

So I did that twice and landed on 112 both times. So then I decided to make two additional calls to elm to land on 114.

So I do that and then land on 120.

I'm confused.

When RNGing the Hoenn Starters from Steven, do the starter have certain frames?

If it is still of any interest for someone, I've successfully abused a Mudkip in HG, and its starting frame was 1 (my target frame was 44 and I did 43 advances to get it), I assume it would be the same for the other starters.
Also, no NPC annoyance of any kind in the building.

The Kanto starters all start on frame 5 (this information should be added to the front page)

Are you sure about this ?

So Elm won't advance, but Joey will? That's kinda strange...

Okay guys I've been trying to RNG catch this sudowoodo for about a week now, every time I go to search the elm results in the Adjacent finder nothing comes up. Any idea what i'm doing wrong?
Also I started trying this using pikatimer, now I'm back to emloop using my original calibrated delay. Still getting nothing in my Elm results!

So when you rejected the egg, that's rejecting a frame, right?

Trying to get this all cleared up. The frame I want happens to be 14.

If you call Joey 6 times, that leaves you with frame 13 and 14s eggs. You reject frame 13s egg and take frame 14.

But if you reject an egg, wouldn't that mean that the next egg may not have the same Nature you wanted (or Shiny-ness)?

No, if you do your RNG correctly, you are aiming for an exact nature/ability/shiny( or not shiny) on an exact frame of a chosen seed.

Sorry, I meant call Joey 6 times =12 advances, and frames 13 and 14. I'll fix my example above to prevent confusion for anyone else.

Are you sure your calcs are correct? I did everything you said, and I end up getting Frame 15, a frame above the target. The Daycare Man did call me, but I didn't pick up, 'cause I was standing right in front of him. Do the calls mess you up?
