so if a giratina uses shadow force and vanishes and next turn a normal type pokemon uses follow me, would shadow force hit its oringinal target, or the pokemon that used follow me?

The follow me pokemon. Not only does follow me have incredible priority, it takes any attack that doesn't double up.

Follow Me can be used to redirect Shadow Force on both it's charging turn and its attack turn, by the way.

I have a question: In the hack checks, do they check each Pokemon or the whole cartridge?
So for example I have my HG with my team of completely legit 100% real pokemon. My HG has never been through a cheating device, but I have a pokemon, that is NOT on my team and is hacked. It is not hacked in my Heart Gold but elsewhere and its not on my team.
What happens?

Incorrect. I tested it several times, Follow Me has to be used on the attack turn to redirect the move to the Follow Me user. Using Follow Me in the charging turn won't have the move hit the Follow Me user in the attack turn.

Awesome. Glad I'm wrong.

Can you request hack checks before each round starts? That way you can have peace of mind before hand without calling anyone a cheater. Or would the staff get angry the 3rd or 4th time you wasted their time?

Aren't you implying that your opponent is cheating if you ask for a hack check?

So like, I had to miss the Birmingham qualifier due to YuGiOh nationals being the same day (tough decision) and I was just wondering how often these tournaments are. Like, after all the qualifiers and worlds are over, will there be more? Or is that it for this year?

http://www.pokemonvgc.com/en/events.php

complete list of events right there - on the VGC web site (who would have thought?)

The tournament series is once every year, starting in the fall (TCG) or Spring (VGC) and ends in August at the world championships.

no not for another year. its a yearly event. but there are always non TPCI hosted events happening. from local card/game stores hosting events to other big yearly[non TPCI] or even monthly events. and then ofcourse i am sure sites like smogon have thier own thing on the side. basically there is always something happening...just not as big as the VGC's and you have to just put in the research to find them.

Ah that's a shame. I guess I'll just have to wait for next year's VGCs when we'll be using Black and White versions. Presumably.

So there are VGC style events held unofficially? Where would I find out about these events? This is basically the only Pokemon site I go on. Well, besides Pokebeach sometimes but I think that site is mostly for the TCG.

well for the best results you have to take your time researching whats happeneing in your local area. this site is helpfull in that respect http://www.pokemon.com/us/organized-play/tournaments/

the pokemon website[ if you can navigate it right] can open up your options as well. http://www.pokemon.com/us/games/
, what it comes down to is where you live. also how much you research/look

PS: the organized play website looks like its for tcg only but thats because its set to tcg at the welcome screen. you have to navigate away from that. its pretty simply to use
