Yep he was the man of the match, seriously why can't germany play that well every match, the way they lure the opposition into their own half then shoot a long ball to the forwards was amazing.

Agree, the match was getting seriously boring, in between the ball being constantly in orbit and always going cockteasingly close but no dice. Last half was better though, and I'm very pleased the Dutch won. I was hoping they'd score a goal against the Danish, since winning 1-0 on an own goal is a bit sad, so that was rewarding. Congratulations to Holland!

PS Excuse my girliness, but I love the Dutch uniform :D Whoever would've thought that glaring orange would work so well?
 
OMG, what a bad game. The Danish were playing compact and were waiting for the counter. The Dutch team fell for that, but luckily enough the own goal made this strategy useless.

Elia played good. He opened up the Danish defence, but I think that Van Marwijk should have subbed earlier. It was clear that The Danish team wasn't going to play even close to offensively. Overall: bad match, but a good result and that's what counts
 
is anyone else seeing the Irony between New Zealands team name, playing strip (home) and South Africas .......history?

EDIT: I just found out our jerseys are made out of recycled plastic bottles lol

Glad us dutchfags got to claim our win. The match was great to watch, not because of it beign well played, but we got a chance to drink beer at school, which only happens on rare occasions (and never has the janitor drinking with us). Nevertheless, the second half was better, and elia's playing style broke the danish defenses a lot better then the quick passing would (the danish were too structured for that). There should have been more goals, especially in the second half we had plenty of chances.

@ jumpluff: you should see the dutch football crowd at any place they can watch. Its a fucking orange blur ;)

The only good thing about the Japan - Cameroon game was the commentators, they said some funny shit.

About the game, only the last 5-10 minutes were interesting, the rest was just crap

If they banned the horns then they would lose $8752872957532758976438645782568 in profits from selling them for $13 apiece when they cost less than $1 to make! I think they should make the vuvuzela shaped like penii...

It's really dumb, since vuvuzelas are linked to hearing loss and are great ways to spread germs (like I said on another page, you can practically hear the saliva flying), as well as drowning out the atmospheric roar of the crowd, and purportedly (purported by multiple players and coaches) inhibiting inter-team and coach-to-player communication. But noooooooooooo, it's authentic!

Vuvuzelas do make for great excuses though! No, really, it was the vuvuzelas that made us lose...

ETA: PS forgot to mention that E3 coinciding with WC makes me =(, but today is just lamer Microsoft, so no worries there.
