Challenge The Scramble Challange

In retrospect i probably should have given him something with more oomph. I have to admit, i really didnt notice how shitty his team was until after i posted pinisr

EDITs...

I wasn't trying to insult anyone, but look at his post. That looks to me like the least interesting Scramble I've seen in this thread. And there were too many "Do whatever"s with it. Granted, a small amount of freedom is good, but if the entire thing is about doing whatever, why would Supermarth64 even do a Scramble?

No insult was taken. I agree i would be pissed if that was me. Thats why i'm offering him the chance to swap out pinsir.

Tbh I said I was playing it through for the first time, but if you want, you can give me something harder since the other 5 are (mostly) bland.

thing is your team is not just bland, its bad. Ditto and beedrill are horrible pokemon, and pinsir's typing is redundant with beedrills.

Instead of pinisr, catch the first abra you see (if you fail to catch it thats ok, move onto the next one, but you can't "fish" for the nature/gender you want). Name it Mrs. Mime, regardless of gender. If it is male, you must trade it for the Mr. Mime ASAP, because you don't want a crossdresser on you party. If it is female you must keep it and do with it whatever you wish.

Actually, not gonna use Ditto because it sucks massively and has no creativity. Not Pikachu either because I'd need to breed a Pikachu holding a Light Ball in order to get a Pichu with Volt Tackle, and that'll take too long.

I'll take that Abra though.

Also, someone hard for the last one.

-swablu-Qtip-must solo liza and tate to evolve
-Feebas-must know icebeam to evolve
-anorith-bug stab to evolve
-treecko-It must learn and keep Screech always. Using the move tutor, teach it Swagger. You must solo one of Wattson's Pokemon with a Swagger + Screech combo, only those moves to evolve into Grovyle. You may then delete Swagger if you want. Cannot become a Sceptile until you beat your Rival in Victory Road.
-ralts-Saf7-Have it evolve to Kirlia only at Lv. 30 or higher, and Gardevoir exactly 6 levels after (if you happen to have not fulfilled the coming requirements by then, it remains a Kirlia forever). However, it cannot evolve to Gardevoir until after you beat Mossdeep Gym (not just Ralts/Kirlia, you can beat the gym with whatever you feel like), and it has to KO a Wailmer as well (which if i remember correctly, are abundant around Mossdeep).
-magikarp-must learn rain dance
-Wingull-cant evolve, must solo flannery
-Magneton-343GUILTY-must be caught as a magneton in new mauville, and must always keep the move SPARK

4 more pokes, Emerald no trading whatsoever please???

a thing to note is that you can only get volttackle on a pikachu in Emerald, so that pretty much screws over that entire plan (i believe you need the ruby and saphire to trade with emerald as well...)

if viking raider doesnt want to give you another poke, then take a execcute named Scrambled, it may only evolve if you solo Koga with it (you may want to get the TM for psychic before attempting this). by the time you get to giovanni in his gym, it has to have the combo of Sleep move/ Dream eater, Grass STAB, and Skill swap, and has to be used to defeat a poke in at least 3 E4 battles (without dieing).

@sprocket
what a boss. now do it with a team of digletts, one hand behind your back, and blindfolded xD

@ supermarth, take a Grimer. Catch it in the Mansion on Cinnabar. Try to make it a Timid nature. It can only learn Poison-type moves.

@ cayr, use Castform. Make it the Sunny Day variant in the Smogon Analysis before the E4 if possible.

Rattata called Ratz. That's it. Do with it as you see fit.
Beedrill. It must have a bug move and a poison move.
Well you don't have a lot of power on your team so far, so take Squirtle named Potter. It can only evolve at max happiness, and it can evolve the second time as long as it has the move Rain Dance.
@Super Marth: Take a Mankey, name it ROFLCHOPPER, it must learn and keep Karate Chop, it can only evolve after you critical 5 of any Gym Leaders Pokemon. After it Evolves you can forget Karate Chop, and learn Cross Chop. You cannot have Cross Chop as a Mankey.

Ok, I'm doing these 6. Thanks guys!

K, so I just spent the last week trying to find a Burmy on a honey tree. Nothing. I'm done looking for one. I just wasted around 10 Pokeballs catching a Heracross though, so someone give me restrictions for it, please. And don't make it ridiculous as this marks the third fire weakness on my team.

Oh, and whoever gave me Burmy: FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Chateau, is this your Scramble?

Heracross cannot learn any STAB moves. Any STAB moves it has must be replaced as soon as possible.

Speaking of Scrambles, I decided to not be a puss, and for my Pearl scramble give that Larvitar a Toxic Orb after all. It's had one since level 1. Also got another Toxic Orb for Clefable on my SoulSilver Kanto Scramble. Blue is down, now just leveling up for Red.

Woohoo, Red down! It was a pretty downright epic battle with only 5 level 70 Pokemon, involving a metric assload of Hyper and Max Potions, and Full Restores up the wazoo.

If you can believe it, the final battle came down to a highly weakened Pikachu (roughly 30% HP) versus a full health Blissey. No Pokemon in reserve for either one of us. Knowing Pikachu would outspeed Blissey, I did the only sensible thing: Revive one of my remaining Pokemon, Lanturn, to absorb both Iron Tail and any Electric attacks. And wouldn't you know it, Pikachu used Volt Tackle---like I predicted it would---to kill Blissey (with a whopping 493 HP at level 70), but the recoil also killed Pikachu.

Victory by Recoil Damage :D

Now all that's left is to level up Nidoqueen (she was completely neglected since I couldn't use her for Red), and take down the Elite Four again.

Sorry about the Nidoqueen thing. Glad to see it's gonna waste your valuable time, though, it's done its job well. :D

Update on my Charizard Solo: Sylvester is still a Charmander, Lv. 34, just learned Flatethrower. Once it learns Fire Spin at 37, i'll let it evolve. Currently using a Pachirisu as my doubles partner, though i've limited it to using only non damage moves (growl is incredibly handy). Had to go all the way back to Valley Windworks to nab one, but well worth it for the Pickup ability. :)

That was me, and the fact you found a Heracross before a Burmy is ridiculous. Burmy should appear on at least every 5th tree.

Well I did get a Burmy on my third tree, iirc, but I was forced to reset because the game froze up. Still weird, though, because I checked around 50 trees total.

Actually, I'm in a similar situation. I searched for SolidRock the Onix in my HG scramble for two hours in the cave just before Azalea. I saw one in that time and it died of poison as I frantically threw balls at it. It just would not get caught. So I went and traded a Bellsprout for the Onix in Violet City.

Whoever gave me that Onix, I apologize, but I am using the traded one instead of whatever one you gave me. The same restrictions will apply.

Take a Marill, if it's male call it Props#, if it's female call it Slops#. It can evolve whenever you want, but if it dies, you need to catch a new one (No restrictions on potions, no use of Revives). When you catch a new Marill, chance the # to the number of the Marill (1st one gets 1, second one 2, etc...)
Have fun

Elite Four version 2 down! SoulSilver Kanto Challenge complete!

Honestly there wasn't much to say about the Elite Four. The only two Pokemon that gave me any real difficulty were Spiritomb (Curse + Pain Split) and Umbreon (Curse). Did end up using a metric buttload of Hyper Potions, Full Restores, and all of my Revives (I only brought 10 for some reason).

Elite Four MVP
468.png
Fearless (M) @ Silk Scarf
Level 71
Brave / Own Tempo
-Fire Blast
-Ice Beam
-Earthquake
-Return

His very excellent move set, high bulk, and extremely powerful STAB Return took out about a third of the Elite Four on his own.

Challenge Overall MVP
171.png
Lanturn (F) @ Magnet
Level 72
Modest / Volt Absorb
-Thunderbolt
-Aqua Ring
-Confuse Ray
-Surf

Excellent typing, excellent ability, and general bulk meant it could take down just about any Pokemon. When the going was tough, Lanturn pulled it together.

Honorable Mention
94.png
Sprocket (M) @ BlackGlasses
Level 70
Lonely / Levitate
-Shadow Ball
-Lick
-Dark Pulse
-Taunt

I barely used Taunt, never used Lick. But between Shadow Ball and Dark Pulse, did it really need anything else? Plus Gengars in general just plain own.

Slops
36.png
I (M) @ Toxic Orb
Level 71
Rash / Cute Charm
-Facade
-Meteor Mash
-Metronome
-Light Screen

Toxic Orb plus Magic Guard would have made Clefable own. However he ended up being a mega massive money sink, requiring me to use Full Restores either every battle, or every two or three rounds, if it lived that long. He only became useful once I had access to Facade (which was after Blue was defeated).

242.png
fat Hannah (F) @ BrightPowder
Level 70
Modest / Natural Cure
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Rock Climb
-Ice Beam

Despite her soloing Blaine after 20 tries, and despite helping defeat Red's Pikachu, she was mostly worthless. Every trainer and wild Pokemon took advantage of her pitiful Defense stat (30 Defense at level 70), and her fairly low Special Attack meant she couldn't get any OHKOs, maybe a 2HKO if she was lucky. The only way I even leveled her was with Exp. Share

31.png
Nidoqueen (F) @ None
Level 64
Bold / Poison Point
-Poison Fang
-Earth Power
-Crunch
-Superpower

Honestly even if she had access to Earthquake, it wouldn't have mattered (Attack was 116, Sp. Attack 101 @ Level 64). Her horrible typing, and generally poor stats and moveset made her practically worthless the entire challenge. Her one saving grace was she could withstand Poison attacks, which generally weren't a problem to begin with.

As for completing Pearl, I'll continue that once I catch the legendaries in HGSS.

I'd like a team for Platinum if it's not too much trouble. I have an AR, so any Pokemon goes, with any nature. I'd prefer not to use starters, though.

Anything goes, eh?

Use a Phione, make it the Hydrator set in the Smogon Analysis. Set all its IVs to 0 with your AR.
