Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

After inputting the information for the pokemon I caught and the date and time and whatnot, it gave me 2 initial seeds, is that ok?

So I'm trying to hit a delay of 2746. I've worked out that this should take 48.26 seconds from booting up the game.

But yeah the problem is, I'm not hitting what I'm supposed to be and I can't find out what I'm hitting because RNG reporter doesn't search delays so high. This is the only seed I can catch a flawless adamant Larvitar on so changing seeds isn't an option. Any suggestions? Also it seems I'm way out because I've scanned the closest 1000 seeds' elm feedback and nothing.

I think I used the same seed for when I RNG'ed my Sinjoh Ruins Giratina. You are using PikaTimer right? I would plug into Pikatimer the basics and make the calibrated delay a delay you know how long it takes you to get into it, such as for me I use 485 and 13.33 seconds, as that's what happens when I use PikaTimer, I found out what that was when I was RNG'ing my Giratina. Just use a second of 13 to get inside the game (as your calibrated second) and a delay between 482-490. If you do this then it should work for you and you will get closer, just remember to "Update" the delay with what you are hitting and the amount of time it takes you to hit it.

as I said on IRC earlier, id be posting some of my notes for the safari once I got the hang of encounterslots.
It seems that the items used yield different encounterslots for the safari zone.
note that it is still incomplete and can be subject to a lot of changes :D
some are just straight out assumptions which I need to put to the test still though.

Plains items
2nd pokemon that likes plains item to appear on encounter slot 6 (confirmed with volbeat/illumise/surskit)
most likely 1st pokemon to appear that likes plains item to appear on slot 5(unconfirmed)
most likely 3rd pokemon to appear that likes plains item to appear on slot 7(if applicable, unconfirmed)

Forest items
1st pokemon that likes forest items to appear on slot 6(unconfirmed)
2nd to appear on slot 7(unconfirmed)
3rd to appear on slot 8(unconfirmed, if applicable)

Peak items

1st pokemon to appear on slot 7(unconfirmed)
2nd to appear on slot 8 (confirmed with Lunatone, shuckle, however, has another encounterslot going for it, probably 4 or 5, Ill need to test that though and inventarise.)
3rd to appear on slot 9 (unconfirmed, if applicable)

Water Items
1st to appear on slot 8(unconfirmed)
2nd to appear on slot 9(unconfirmed)
3rd to appear on slot 10(unconfirmed)

Pokemon needing 2 types of items?
Slot 11?

In the DDP Manipulation Guide, it states...

Frame The frame should be the number that occurred most often during the second Calibration Phase. Enter the data listed above into the appropriate entry fields. Select a desired spread and then click "Generate". Please note that when you see the list of generated spreads that "A" refers to the first parent placed into Daycare and "B" refers to the second. If everything went right, you should now be able to choose between some listed dates that give you good spreads.
If no data is displayed or there is no spread suitable for the parents you have in Daycare, you should add two to the frame and try again, repeating as many times as necessary until a positive result is found.
Once you have found your target spread right click it and select "Generate Times". This will allow you to select a suitable target time.

...But when I right click on my spread, "Generate Times" is not an option. What am I doing wrong?

What I thought I was suppossed to do is...

1) Get the Egg the Old Man at the day care has (I already know it will be a Shniy, Male, Impish Dratini).

2) Catch a wild Poke, and put it's values into the Seed Finder (in this case, a Brave, 8 / 17 / 4 / 20 / 17 / 31 Geodude).

3) Generate my starting frame.

4) Hatch the Egg (in this case, an Impish, Male, 9 / 0 / 26 / 31 / 30 / 28, shiny Dratini).

5) The spread for this Dratini matched the Spread on frame 4.

What should I do next?

Hello, long time lurker, just got round to registering today because I am having a problem with pikatimer.
There is no sound coming from the pikatimer, whatsoever. All other sounds etc. seem fine on my PC and I don't think I have done anything that would have caused this to happen.
I tried re-downloading the software but it's still not working properly.
Any ideas?
Cheers x
*edit for clarity - I have been RNGing for a long time and this problem has just cropped up in the past week.

I changed the guide. It was incorrect in that place you quoted. The thing to do is to simply use the date and time fields from the time finder (each has date and time columns) as your target time.

I guess if you are done calibrating you want to use that target time and continue onward.

Ok, I started a new game, and I want to RNG my starter. Is that possible?
(In Platinum.)
And what is the delay when I start a new game? I mean what I need to the ID finder. [RNG's 'Pandora Box'] I mean when does it start and when does it end? And what tool can help me to record how long does it take?
I'm not so good in English, so pictures would be better than text.

I have the same problem on one of my computers, the one that runs XP. It works fine on my Windows 7 computer though...yeah, I don't get it either :/ It's really hard to use without the dings though.

To fix the sound problem on my computer (I'm running XP), I went to Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel and I enabled the "Default Beep" sound. I guess this program takes the sounds used by windows settings. You can also change the tune of the beeping here.

I don't know what to do now... I keep hitting delay that are 4 seconds away from the delay I need to hit... I hit continue when the second timer hits 00.00 I can't update Pikatimer because if I do, it thinks that I hit a delay from the same second where my seed is in...

I went to the "Sounds" tab of the Sounds and Audio devices menu in control panel. The beep is enabled, but pikatimer simply is not using it. I really don't get it :(

When a new game comes out, how exactly does the rng cracking process take place?
I'd like to help this time, with black/white :)
sign me up.. I guess

Sounds like you calibrated your seconds wrong.
What is your calibrated timer, and what are you hitting instead? Just make the difference fit so it works.

Do you mean that you are missing the time by 4 seconds, or that you're missing the delay by 4? If it's the seconds, just add/subtract 4 from the first timer (add if your 4 ahead, subtract if 4 behind). If it's just the delay, then input what you've been getting most often and it should bring you closer to the delay.

Or he could save himself the trouble and make both timers' sums equal the target seconds.

Who here has RNG'ed Mesprit or Cress? I have a question. Do you treat the RNG process just like a Method J Pokemon and just Journal Flip to the desired frame before pressing "A" in front of it, or do you have to do something different?

So you can't Coin Flip in front of Mesprit or Cresselia? You said it was starting on frame 5 right? So Coin Flip is inaccurate, and you can't tell whether or not you hit your target time?

yes you can use the coin flip trick, coin flips run of the IRNG, while Cresselia's IVs/Narure are generated from a separate RNG so the fact that they start at 5 frames has no effect on coin flips.

Ok Nexus, thanks. So let's say that your target frame was 200, and we're assuming you hit your target time perfectly and have done the coin flip trick to confirm it. You would still journal flip to the 200-5 frame, and then you would press "A" in front of it, and then go out and catch it right?

yup you got it.

I'm not finding the new download link of pokeRNGDP and every time I do a thread search, it returns a blank screen and if I try to refresh then I get the only 1 search each 15 seconds thing.

Help?

Well, that's right, but 200-5=195, which isn't evenly divisable by 2. So it's helpful to have an odd number of pokemon (1,3,5) in your party so you can walk 128 steps to advance the RNG by the number of pokemon in your party. You'll only need to do this if you need to switch the frame from odd to even or vice versa.
