I just hope to god its not flying type, despite the wings on its legs. It might even be normal/flying which would SUCK.
just "best wishes" for fire/electric.

Victini doesn't look like much of anything, which generally means Normal. =/ I don't see much Electric or Ghost in it. Flying is viable but with the other type being Normal, Electric, or Fire it'd be disappointing.

Wargle looks like one of my favorite new Pokemon.

Will someone please explain why Normal/Ghost is a viable option for this thing.

Fire/Electric is also dumb, but I can kind of maybe see that because of the red head and beige body.

You still answered the question in a way. It's a typing that everyone wants to see.

Will someone please explain why Normal/Ghost is a viable option for this thing.

Fire/Electric is also dumb, but I can kind of maybe see that because of the red head and beige body.
I asked that question a few pages ago, and the answer was something like "it's called a 'phantom' Pokemon"... but since other legends got that description in the past, I think the odds of Normal/Ghost Victini are slim to none. It looks nothing like a ghost.

Fire/Electric isn't that ridiculous, the coloration makes it plausible at least. It's my best guess assuming it's meant to act like Rayquaza and "balance" the two main Legends. If not... it could be anything, really... pure Normal is a possibility, but it seems to me that being a "Legendary Pokemon" and being "Normal" is contradictory!

And also: Please please replace Voltorb flip with the slots, or at least something more novel and fun (and less "LOL! VOLTORB TROLLS U!" *Depressing tune plays*). I mean, I love Voltorb, but he always gets cast in these terrible roles by GF. He should re-negotiate his contract to force GF to design a new game, and hire a PR man to fix his image.

I believe Victini will be normal/flying or just flying because its design really doesn't allude to anything else. It would be cool if it was flying/fighting though.
Regigiggas is a normal legendary by the way.

Victini is not the middle uber in the game. It is an event exclusive Pokemon comparable to Celebi or Manaphy or Jirachi.

I predict a 600 BST with a 100 even distribution in each stat. It looks like it'll probably be Normal. Victini is kind of a letdown. It doesn't look legendary at all. -.-

hahaha i lol'ed so hard to the voltorb part in the contract, congrats sir you give me a great image to think before going to bed XD.

Who thought that Jirachi, Manaphy, Shaymin, and the other would be legendaries? Some, like Mew, yeah, but not most of them

Hmm, I suppose they could go for the whole "Flying Squirrel" approach to make that typing happen, but even then... what a dull typing for a Legend. Fire/Electric or Fighting/Flying would be much better, but who knows.

And Regigigas... eh, it should have been ??? typed. How is that thing "Normal"...?

No, but neither did Jirachi, Celebi, Manaphy, or Shaymin. That's why I've been thinking it will be the 100-all legend too. Being an event legendary does hurt the possibility of it being the "balancing" legend though, you're right.

I'm not sure what place a 100-all Normal or Normal/Flying type would have in the metagame though... it'd need either a different typing or a unique ability/move to help it stand out. Assuming that it is Normal, it would have a huge movepool, so that would be a plus... maybe it could function as an OU Clefable of sorts?

@black_cotton: :toast: Glad you enjoyed that, Voltorb needs love.

I would like to see Stealth Rock deal an identical amount of damage to all Pokemon regardless of typing. There's quite a few Pokemon that would like to not lose half or a quarter of their health, like Regice, or Houndoom, or nearly every Flying type ever created.

Errrr, there's something called Spikes already. Haven't you noticed all three entry hazards have different mechanics? Spikes does typeless damage to grounded pokémon depending on the number of layers, Toxic Spikes does Poison/Bad Poison to grounded pokémon also depending of the number of layers, while Stealth Rock does type-based damage to anything with one layer. What makes Stealth Rock "ridiculous" is not its concept per se, but how it was fully implemented. Among other factors, pokémon like BLISSEY learns it, what the hell. However, while we cannot expect those pokémon to suddenly forget the move, we may expect a nerf to it somehow. Besides all my other suggestions in my other post, having NVE pokémon always take 6.25% (instead of the 3.125% Lucario takes) and SE pokémon take 25% (unlike Moltres's 50%) will be enough to make it less ridiculous. Flying-types already have the huge advantage of not being affected by Spikes/Toxic Spikes, why should they magically have no hazards to worry about anymore? Won't happen.

Charizard, Crobat (Can't afford to use U-turn nearly as much), Vespiquen (Isn't very good regardless but has some nice points), Ninjask, though those are only ones that take 50%, and really, there isn't a pokemon in the world that likes heading into battle with anything less than 100%.

Edit: Herpderp, crobat doesn't take 50 but... yeah...

Charizard is a worse Moltres, Ninjask is a noob pokémon since Advance, Vespiquen sucks regardless (Bug/Flying doesn't work defensively and seriously 40 Base Speed?). I"ll have to agree with you on Crobat, though.

Good ideas, and actually, this is my Articuno's set, and it does well een in ubers:
Ice Beam
Sub
Toxic
Roost

Even though it's a nice (if not bread and butter) idea, I just wonder how exactly do you switch in on anything. And even then, there's Ho-oh, with the same 4x SR weakness.

Lol, but you never know, I mean who expected Resh and Zek to turn out Fire and Electric?
EDIT: Anyone think that the rumors about the base stats of the last evo starters got mixed up? Like, not the speed, but maybe the attack and defense?

A lot of people did, actually ~__~ At least after silly Shokotan let it slip Zekrom was Elec/Dragon, everybody and their children figured out Reshiram was Fire/Dragon.

We don't know its ability yet. And I have a feeling it's going to be something... nasty.

I hope it is, if only to shut up the people saying we can never have a pure Flying type because of Roost.

I find these people funny, don't they realize Game Freak could merely change Roost's coding to just remove Ground immunity from Levitating, Magnet Rising or pure-Flying pokémon? I really don't understand why people say we cannot have a pure-Flying only because of Roost. Besides, Gyarados doesn't learn Roost, now what, motherfucker.

Why is everyone assuming that there will even be an intervening third legend to Zek/Reshi? And what's more, that our tiny little rabbit friend is somehow the one to stop it? Just because it is in the preview for the next movie with the two doesn't mean anything.

Movie 7: Munchlax was featured alongside with Rayquaza and Deoxys, and there is no relation.

Movie 9: Manaphy and Kyogre were featured; no special relationship there either.

Movie 10: Darkrai and Dialga/Palkia? Again, no relationship.

Movie 11: Shaymin and Giratina? Even less of a relationship, Shaymin was just trying to get home.

The event legendaries are included in movies for promotional purposes only, they rarely establish any relationship with the box legends.

As for typing, I personally think Flying is involved but it could be anything. Jirachi doesn't exactly telegraph Steel-typing just by looking at it, so Victini could pull something out of left field.

Whatever "game" they use in the Game Corner, I hope they replace Voltorb Flip with something thats less frustrating.

wut, stop sucking at Voltorb Flip. Once you understand how the game works it's really easy to get the hang of things, and therefore be able to accurately predict where the voltorbs + 2s/3s will be.

Fighting/Flying typing for Victini would be cool.

Fire/Electric isn't that ridiculous, the coloration makes it plausible at least.
...No it doesn't.
First of all, beige isn't really an "electric" color. Maybe a yellow?
But even moving away from color nothing really says what it is.

Let's take fire attributes first: Every fire Pokemon generally has something about it that says "fire". Generally this is, well, fire. If red shows up, it's generally the dominate color and a darker shade of red, rather then the light orange Viktini's ears are. And just the ears, for that matter, it's probably done to accent them.

In fact, of the (pitiful, looking at it) amount of Fire Pokemon, the only ones who don't red as the dominant color scheme are Ninetales, Numel, & the Houndour line. And Reshiram, of course.
Nintales evolves from Vulpix, and I suppose one could make a case for its tale tips.
Numel has a volcano on its back, tipping off to its fire typing.
Houndour & Houndoom are hell hounds, you can tell just by looking at them. They're also primarily dark type so that takes precedent. Hell and fire are associated because duh.
Reshiram's tail is a torch. White hot fire is the hottest heat. The Yang (or was it Yin) is associated with fire. It's also sort of wispy.

Most other fire types also have something about them in addition to color, too. Fire on their tails, flame-esque shapes (Magmortar) and hair (Torchic line, Growlithe line), a volcano again, being lava, steaming shell. Heatran looks smelted.

Names go a long way, too. Like Heatran. Virtually every fire type has a fire-based pun in their name.

The same goes for Electric types. a Brighter yellow, electric-based name puns, electric shapes (like Shimama's lighting horn and stripes; the Shinx family's tails)

It's my best guess assuming it's meant to act like Rayquaza and "balance" the two main Legends.
What?
How does that make any sense at all. To make no mention that if that connection was there it would have been mentioned by Pokemon Sunday. Something like WHAT CONNECTION TO THESE TWO COULD IT HAVE?!??!?!
or something. They'd probably want to hype the hell out of that and its connection to the legendaries. Being 000 in the dex, it probably doesn't even show up at all in the game otherwise beyond maybe some lore about the lighthouse.
If not... it could be anything, really... pure Normal is a possibility, but it seems to me that being a "Legendary Pokemon" and being "Normal" is contradictory!
Arceus is right there

I think your problem is your taking "Normal" at face value.

It's a middle of the road typing, where it's not really anything else. A default.
Neutral would probably be a better name, honestly, because that's what it's mostly used for.

You must remember, Arceus can utilize plates to become any type he wants. He isn't an ordinary normal-type, they just gave him that typing because it was 'plain' and allowed them to change his typing.

^The pokedex placement is another factor that has been overlooked, I'm glad you caught it R_N. Not to mention that relationships between new and previous reveals are always either blatantly stated or excessively hinted at.
