Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

During the calibration phase (to see my seconds + delay) does it matter if I catch the 50+ pokemon in an area with a weather condition? If so, where's a good place to do this in platinum?

If you have a very accurate way of checking IVs, you don't need to catch a high level pokemon.
If you don't, I would suggest calibrating by saving in front of Palkia. Level 70 gives you a pretty accurate guess at IVs.

I can use my IV checking code on my AR, but for some reason using the AR somewhat distorts the time on my DS and un-synchs it with the time on my computer ;-;

One think that I want to confirm. For the ID/SID abuse: instead of loading the game on pikatimer's first timer and continuing on the second timer I load the game on the first timer and then press A on Professor Oak's screen on the second timer?

Skippy: Your adjacent seeds will be on the same time (most likely - since most people enter 0 in the time boxes and since most people hit their same time) but a different delay. The IVs will of course not be what you want, XD. This is used just so you can see what delay you did hit to make it less frustrating in a sense.
If you're just breeding use emloop, emloop works in a similar fashion (first timer function only).

Bats: If you input the exact same AR codes each time you reset, then your calibration will be the same. Thus, if you use an AR continue to use one. If not...then you can just catch high level pokemon. I wouldn't know where to go - suggesting to calibrate in front of a legendary is a good idea though.

Does anyone know if the Wonder Card Jirachi is RNG-able? A friend of mine is very new to RNG but seems to get the hang of it, and he's having trouble getting the correct pokemon once he hits his seed and frame.

Will there ever be a tutor/apprentice set up for RNGing?

Any tips on hitting delays? I've tried pika timer but I can never seem to hit it (I think I'm inconsistent). How many tries does it usually take before successfully hitting a delay?

It is, but the IVs are generated via the wondercard method (the nature you get is random, not set). So even if you hit the correct spread you may not hit the nature you want. Short answer is yes :)

Forgive me if this has already been answered, I'm too lazy to search the thread.

When finding your Delay, would you start counting the seconds as soon as the screen fades to white, or once it goes black and shows copyright info?

When rnging for shiny in HG, are the roamers less accurate than elm calls or something because rng reporter said roamers were supposed to be a certain location but nothing came up when I searched for roamers so I did elm calls. It skipped an extra call but it ended up being the delay and second I was aiming for and then I ran around until the egg appeared, saved, hatched it, and it ended up shiny.

Ranigad: For beginners, I always suggest calibrating and breeding first to get the hang of hitting your natural delay (mashing a as fast as possible is good because it keeps you consistent :P). After that, pikatimer is a great help. Others find that pikatimer just works - it depends on the person imo...but yeah. My 2cents.

Tyranitarphantom: You don't have to physically count anything. That's why RNG Reporter exists - to help you out a bit there ^_^ Besides, you wouldn't be as accurate anyways most likely, haha.

ok so ive been trying to hatch a shiny with IVs, ive gotten 5 shinies so far but i can never seem to be even remotely close on the target seed of my IVs. I'll try for hours at a time and i even check to see weather it started on frame 1 or 3. its still not working, can someone help?

Are you sure you're hitting the right delay and getting the correct seed?
I got frustrated when trying to get IVs because RNG Reporter would say I was very close on my delays, and then completely off. So I just picked a new seed to work with and I got it after a few tries.

Have you done your usual calibrations? Know what your delay is (as close to an exact number as possible) and your seconds? Also...have you calibrated to see what your save frame is before jumping right in to soft resetting? Not knowing that will really mess you up and next to SR for IVs, is the most annoying part of egg abuse, XD.
This is taken for DPPT of course. If you're doing HG/SS nvm, lol.

alright let me give that a go then, hopefully i can find another one with 31 hp atk and spd...

Bakus: im on HG so i dont think any of that applies

Okay need help with this one:

Bold

I used Java RNG and fond this spread:
31/14/31/30/31/31 HP GRASS 70

When I look in Microsoft Excel I see this under column A:

b71308a4
What are in columns B,C,D, and F?

how does walking advance the RNG? it says 128 steps advances it by the number of pokemon in your party but that it is saved and doesnt reset upon soft resetting.. does hard resetting reset it?

Hello

I have been using RNG on pretty much every Generation 4 game for sometime now. One of my favorites is RNG my ID/SID so I may capture Legendary Pokemon with the desired PID for shiny and IV combos. I'm now in the process of going to Emerald, and I want to know how to do the same in that game. I used the Search here and google, and tried to read as much as I can of the 900+ pages of this topic, but I still can not find how to RNG abuse my IDs on Emerald.

If anyone can shed some light on how the game dictates the IDs that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

First post and first day trying out RNG. No success so far.

Saved in front of Mewtwo with a fainted Timid Synchronize Natu. Trying out for a perfect IV(allstats31)/non-shiny Timid Mewtwo. I've generated the seed and it came out to be d2140289. After the pikatimer step, I would check the elm's responses (up to 9 of them after pressing Continue), but I never get a match from "Search Elm". What am I doing wrong :\

If your not getting any thing on the "Search Elm", you may be hitting the wrong second. On the Sead to Times window, in the "seconds" boxes, put 5 on both - and +, then do a search. If you have a match, make note on the Second you land on, and if its the one your attempting to target. If it is different, then make the proper adjustment on you timer.

Just tried that a dozen times, I'm still getting no match. I start the pikatimer as soon as I change the time (after the date) according to the "Seed To Times". Input the second I want from "Seed To Times" and entered my wanted delay of 639. Soft resetted the game right when the second timer begins and pressed continue just as it hits zero. After all that, I'm still not getting any elm call match.

Make sure you have the prereq's done first
-hatch topaki and show it to elm
-get the pokerus
-got into konto

If your have done that and still can not find a match, then capture that mewtwo (without saving of course) and enter its stats into the "Time finder" function. Assuming you have the date and times correct it should find the seed and delay that you ended up hitting.

Soo..I restarted my HG file, and I wanted to RNG abuse Ho-oh. And I have a few questions:
Do the Irwin calls advance the RNG Just like the Elm calls? or does it only verify the seed?
Do the calls work on top of the Bell Tower?
This might be kinda stupid but im paranoid x] When you switch out the first Pokemon in your party, does it advance your RNG or do anyhting? Because then I can switch out Abra with some other Pokemon to Verify what seed I hit.
This is Irrelevant but I also wanted to get Oaks Charmander.
For Method 1, theres something called an actual and a time? What is the actual and time used for?
Thanks.
