Lucario evo, no joke.

jokes aside i could use a WYVERN pokemon. not a dragon wannabe, A WYVERN. W-Y-V-E-R-N. powerful fire breathers capable of massive destruction and said to be the most dangerous being in the world! BEHOLD!

a dangerous and powerful wyvern!....wait a sec, there is something wrong here....

Psyduck->Golduck->Friggin awesome kappa with Rain Dish and base speed above 100 and respectable attacking stats. Please.

I think we can expect gen 5 to favor evolving gen 3 Pokemon to hype the inevitable RSE remake, though. But there's always room for a Golduck evo. And a Farfetch'd evo for gawdsakes.

What do you mean by 'master leak'?

The next issue of CoroCoro is gonna be a massive information dump, with a a bunch of new Pokemon etc. I'm pretty it's the last issue before the games are released, so they're going all out.

It should start leaking in ~week or so.

It wouldn't have to be gorey. Just an orb for the heart and darker blue lines in the legs for "veins". It's probably fake anyway.

Fire, water, and electricity.
The mythical Karura, the legendary Kappa, and the mysterious Yeti.
Psychic and Cross Chop.

I think I notice a pattern.

Well, I'm actually curious about the typing. I mean, GF didn't give Golduck Water/Psychic, either. And that's in a gen where they already had two Water/Psychic lines. Maybe this isn't his destiny?
I'm thinking of the following possibilities:
- Lucario-style Fighting type. Golduck is described as a supreme swimmer. Poliwrath got Fighting typing pretty much for this. xD
- Ghost/Dark: Afaik Golduck is based upon some sea monster or something. Psychic abilities also tend to be related to Ghosts in Pokemon, so why not? Didn't we all want a Water/Ghost since... forever? =)

no. Water/Psychic makes the most sense, and is the most likely second typing should he get one. half of his Pokedex entires state that he has psychic powers. Psyduck is said to even have psychic powers (it even has Psy right in it's name). there is no reason, at all, why it shouldn't get that typing, because by all rights it should already have it.

fighting makes no sense, as it has no association with fighting. at all. being able to swim well has no relation to fighting types, and is most likely related to it being a water type (who you would assume to be good swimmers).

Dark make some sense, but only if it evolves into something more Kappa-like. Ghost is a huge stretch.

Psyduck->Golduck->Friggin awesome kappa with Cloud Nine and base speed above 100 and respectable attacking stats. Please.

Edited for my own humble opinion. I rather like how Golduck can act as a semi-counter to weather teams, and I certainly would not want Rain teams to be even more overpowered if they get a Rain Dish user with higher base Speed than 100.

^Cloud Nine is an awesome ability indeed, I wish more pokemon would have it. Hopefully we get a cloud-based pokemon that becomes common enough to use the ability to full effect.

Still say it won't be more then ~8 or so and will mostly/all be Pokemon teased so far+ Broccoli dude and Onokkuso (assuming the Playdough packaging just didn't misspell Ononokuso).

edit: Oh, maybe Hatoppo since he's in the demo.

Well Rain Dish is pretty useless unless it was fairly bulky, so I'd like it as a secondary ability, for flavor's sake. Cloud Nine would be useful too.

No joke. I almost used a Golduck in the VGCs this year just for the Cloud Nine. :3

But when I said "first day", I was taking into account the rom leak too. Unless you mean the Base Stat chart leaked before even the rom?

Nah, I just thought by first day you meant the day of D/P's release. My mistake.

Yeah, I remember that. After staring at it for a while, I figured out, "Hey, this is a Magneton evo. This is a Lickitung evo. Etc." Good times.

It was good times indeed. There were certain ones that people just knew would be good (Garchomp), and crazy speculation surrounding others (Dusknoir/Froslass/Rotom being a ghost trio).

The first year or so after a new generation has always been my favorite. You would see a huge variety in teams, get shocked by surprises (Gyarados can use Stone Edge? Porygon-Z has Nasty Plot?, Magnezone is that slow?), see the birth of standard movesets, etc. You never knew exactly what to expect, because OU wasn't very solid. After awhile though, things get stale and just aren't that amusing. I assure all you players who just started competitive Pokemon in the middle of Gen IV, the start of a new gen is like nothing else.

Already I assume in the start of Gen V people will be Zoroark paranoid, firing off Fighting attacks left and right. A lot of new Pokemon will be used, and people will develop their own strategies. One I'm thinking of is a Sandstorm stall team meant to weaken the opponents Pokemon and then have Meguroko's evo (speculation) finish them off with Earthquake/other move and then getting an attack boost from Overconfidence. It'll depend on if Meguroko gets an evolution and if it's stats are usable of course, but still.
