I think we need an ability that blocks Taunt and other moves that limit what moves you can use, like Encore and Heal Block. Would go great on a tank.

Just had another idea for Sturdy users; Custap and Destiny Bond. Not much else needs to be said.
Good moveset, but for some reason I don't see it working that well..

But what would the point of Hydration be then? xD
So that he won't be burned, poisoned, paralyzed, frozen or put to sleep by the opponent, which can hinder a baton passer.

I'm sure offensive Vaporeon with Rest/Surf/Ice Beam/HP Electric will dominate on Rain Dance teams, but I wouldn't be surprised if a couple support roles like the one I made up were used, too.

No current Sturdy pokemon learns Destiny Bond that I know of. I think Forretress could be a new suicide lead since it can get Toxic Spikes up most of the time using Sturdy + Custap to get two layers of Toxic Spikes, or regular Spikes.

But then you can just set up Rain with another poke and use Vaporeon as a pure Baton Passer. Rest, Acid Armor, Baton Pass, Surf ^.^

Yeah, I was thinking of a new Pokemon getting it. Right now the best D-bonder is probably Froslass and that's outsped by a few things.

I'm hoping for some awesome music in these games too. Music is honestly what makes the games so nostalgic, and a lot more fun to play.

All this new info sounds awesome. I hope the abilities that the Pokemon get in the dream world are breedable. Also what is the availability of the Pokemon in the dream world? We need more details on how this works... Here's to Thick Fat Dragonite

I think I'm just gonna run an LO Vaporeon with Hydro Pump, Rain Dance, Rest and... jesus I don't even know, because for the record, in rain this thing 2HKO's Gyarados with Hydro Pump, WHO NEEDS HP ELECTRIC? <___<

And the LO damage is laughable when Vaporeon can just rest back to full health.

(Edit: Roar would probably be the best option)

Tralalalala.

@Wishy: Oh god please yes! And tinted lens flygon!

But by the time you bring in Vaporeon, use Acid Armor and then Baton Pass, you've used up three turns of Rain. Whereas Vaporeon can go: Acid Armor, Rain Dance, Baton Pass and only use one turn of Rain. Also, switching in a supporter after using Rain Dance seems like it'd kill momentum. Again, I don't know the mechanics of Rain Dance teams and am just going off of experience facing them.

Tralalalala.
Is that a Captain Underpants reference? If so, I love you.

It would be great. As for name, I suggest Stay Calm or Strong Focused (where this helps to prevent Heal Block I dunno, but it makes sense in countering Taunt, Encore, Torment, etc).

Speaking of alternate abilities, I remember one of the pokemon being showcased in the dream world on Serebii was the pokemon mascot itselt, Pikachu. One thing that Gamefreak has always been consistent with over the years is giving small little powerups and upgrades to Pikachu. For example...

1st generation: Surf (and Fly to a lesser extent) became a special move.
2nd generation: Light ball became available to double special attack.
3rd generation: Pikachu recieves its signature move, Volt Tackle.
4th generation: Light ball now doubles attack in addition to special attack.
5th generation: ???

So maybe Pikachu will get a great awesome alternate ability? Whatever it is, I hope that Raichu can take advantage of it so that I have more reason to use it.

Now this would be a masterpiece, Ice Beam as the last one!
Both Flygon and Dragonite would love Thick Fat, and Thick Fat on a Grass type! But that would be weird..

I think sturdy would be useful for leads. I'm pretty sure the new rock type learns sr. Focus sash+Lum Berry=ultimate lead.

It could be, but that depends on how the future lead metagame shapes up. As it stands, Skarm, Forretress, Donphan, etc aren't exactly the best leads out there, and Rock/Steel types have a large number of issues aside from their currently-useless Sturdy ability. We'll have to see.

I wouldn't say it will dominate, given the competition. Let's glance at the typical rain team: Lead, 3 Rain Sweepers, 2 Support mons/Rain starters. The best options for Rain sweepers are decidedly Kingdra, Kabutops, and often one of Ludicolo/Omastar/Gorebyss, which means an overload on the water type.

Vaporeon doesn't really add any key resistances to the team that aren't already covered (Water is resisted, lolFire, Steel is resisted, etc), and brings additional Electric and Grass weaknesses. Moreover, it doesn't get +2 speed from Swift Swim, which is what makes MixDra and SDKabutops so deadly, and makes it easily picked off by a powerful attacker.

Vappy may see ocassional use, but it is simply outclassed on a full-blown Rain team. I could see it working as a Vaporeon-Kingdra duo on a balanced team, maybe, but that's it.

I LOVE this new information!

Shikijika and Swana will definitely be on my team. :]

How do you guys think the seasons will change Shikijika? Will it just be appearance like Gastrodon or will it affect its evolutions/type like Wormadam? And how good of an ability is Herbivore?

Sure, you're right. The only fear is Taunt, and Rest on a Hydration Vape is a must for me.

I have a feeling it could be Motor Drive as an alternative ability for Pikachu.

I can see an ability blocking Taunt be called Stalwart; which by definition is someone who is sturdy, strong, and brave.

Edit: @below: You know, looking at your avatar, I'd swear to god that the "mantis" pokemon looks like a final evo to Kibago. I dunno if this has been said already, but that's what comes to mind for me.

Many Pokémon you meet through the Dream World will have different abilities than normal. It is unknown if Pokémon bred in Black & White can obtain these abilities.

This would ruin the game...

TMs being reusable owns

stealth rock still needs to be nerfed somehow, but im happy with what we're getting. also miruhoggu looks so fuckin mad lol, it scares me

From what is quoted on Serebii, Herbivore so far sounds very similar to Electivire's Motor drive, only instead of speed being increased, its attack.

Perhaps the seasonal Shikijika's might gain different sets of moves that it can't learn other seasons. Like in Fall, Shikijika might be able to learn Stone Edge, but only in fall. Meanwhile in summer, it could probably learn flare blitz.

but Flygon is slim, Thick Fat wouldn't make any sense. At least Dragonite is chubby, and I'm sure there is a dex entry mentioning his chub (just like how he can fly super fast, and now he has Extremespeed again).

I hope it evolves into different Pokemon depending on the season. So if it's Winter form, it might evolve into Grass/Ice, if it's Spring form, it might evolve into Grass/Water, etc.
