Yes, I noticed your post after posting mine.
I think I was busy typing it up when you submitted.
I quite like that reference. And those safety vests often appear to "Illuminate" as well.

I think it shows they put a lot of thought into the design. I guess that's why I like it so much. The end result is kind of doofy looking but it's charming and interesting.

And yeah, I think Sand Throw will allow you to hit Flying-types/Levitators with Ground-type attacks. Makes sense to me.

EDIT: @deluge: I think you meant Keen Eye, and yeah, if Keen Eye increased accuracy this gen instead of just stopping it from lowering, it could get Butterfree's gift of a relatively accurate Sleep move not named Spore. But unfortunately, I don't think they will buff it, mostly because I think they would have revealed it in this issue of Corocoro if either of Miruhog's abilities had changes from previous gens... T_T I sort of hope they bump Hypnosis' accuracy back up to 70% like it was in DP. I'm just so disappointed Miruhog will probably not be as useful in battles as Linoone and Bibarel were, but I suppose we don't know the whole story yet.

i think sand throw will allow ground types to hit levitators(although not flyting types) and sand power will upgrade ground moves when user is under 25% health, OR upgrade the damage sandstorm does
Sand Power was already confirmed, although not Sand Throw, but I wish it could hit levitators with ground type moves.

I don't think Sand Throw will allow EQ to hit immunes. I mean, how throwing sand can bring down things that float ? (Yet there are so many things in pokémon that are nonsense...)

sand power just up damage during sandstorm. though note it's ALL damge, not just ground moves (AS OF YET, MAY CHANGE WHEN GAME RELEASED)

Three things, in a quicky post.

One, items in wireless battles? I'm assuming that competitive battles will ban the use of items, correct? Since it will get annoying accumulating enough points to get a Revive, and then REKILLING a Vaporeon that you just killed. Ugh.

On that note, Vaporeon gets fucking Hydration. Meaning that even Toxic poison can't take it down, and all you need to do is replace HP Electric or whatever with Rain Dance. Ugh.

And lastly, here is a hypothetical scenario about the new Sturdy. Some speculation would be nice.

Let's say that a Skarmory with Sturdy was at full health, and was hit with a Fire Blast and taken down to 1 HP.

While that Skarmory stayed in (and Fire Blast missed twice, or something), it Roosted up to full health. If Fire Blast then hits, will you be at 1 HP, or die? If you switch out (after Roosting twice) and switch back in, will you be at 1 HP, or die? Does it work like a Focus Sash, or is it possible for its ability to be reset?

Also, if you take SR damage (again, Skarmory), and 2 turns of Leftovers brings you back to full, will the ability kick in or not?

@ unknown Tsugaja: i agree, they are turning out prtty beastly, just it's evo hjas good stats
@ Kurai: I would Assume it doesnt reset.

As has been said, think of sand as a representation of Ground-type moves in general, and throwing the sand would allow you to hit something that's flying.

@Kurai: It probably doesn't reset, pretty much like a Focus Sash.

Though the new corocoro DIDN'T reveal any new pokemon, I think the info it did reveal is waaaay more interesting than new pokemon. New abilities = awesome. Reusable TMs = FUCK YEAH!

In all fairness, the Pokemon in Corocoro were technically supposed to be new to us, specifically Swanna, Kurumeal, and Shikijika. We are just over observant bastards who saw every new Pokemon in every new clip, and then Swanna, Kurumeal, and Shikijika were leaked somehow.

I think we need an ability that blocks Taunt and other moves that limit what moves you can use, like Encore and Heal Block. Would go great on a tank.

Just had another idea for Sturdy users; Custap and Destiny Bond. Not much else needs to be said.

I think the Mental Herb (which cures attraction) should also cure Taunt.

Vaporeon getting Hydration is good news, I just hope it can be breedable or something (for good IVs...).

Reusable TMs?! that's nice, some might argue it makes the game easier, but if it does for you, just don't reuse TMs, for me I don't have to worry about using TMs on my in-game team worried I'd want it on my competitive team, and also can use it on more than one in-game team.

Also, small thing, Dento is the same 'new' guy from the anime, right? but what about Aloe? is she supposed to be like the 'new' girl's mother or something?

Reusable TMs are eh. After-game it's good for people who don't have an AR, but in-game it just makes it really easy when you can use Earthquake and Ice Beam twice or thrice. :/

Also, the answer "it probably doesn't reset" doesn't have much logic behind it. For example, when you switch Regigigas out of Slow Start, and switch it back in, the five turns reset and go back to five. It's not like you can wait three turns, switch out and in, wait two turns and get double Attack and Speed. If the same logic applies to Sturdy, you'd be able to use the ability twice when switching out/in at full HP. But with the Skarmory and Roost scenario, or the Skarmory and Leftovers scenario, do any of those work?

I just want speculation, since we are not getting a final answer until mechanics are discovered either through leaks or when the game comes out.

I do think it resets, other abilities do, and Focus Sash does if Recycled and back to full health anyway, and like I said if you think reusable TMs make it too easy, then DON'T use them more than once in-game/post game/competitively...etc.

She's the second gym leader of Isshu. I just hope that the thing that happened to Jynx won't happen to her.

I think that it will reset as it is an ability, not an item that is consumed upon use. Anytime the pokemon is at full HP it should not be able to be OHKO'd if it has Sturdy.
