It's not like it could make much use of cloud nine anyway; the reason golduck works in UU is because it can hit key members of weather teams, bar hail (who is really already disadvantaged due to blizzard's poor accuracy alone) for super effective damage and OHKO by running a simple set of Hydro Pump/Ice Beam/HP grass/filler (I.E. encore)

And flame body is actually not terrible.. sure flareon's not going to be living much anyway but still, if it manages to burn like... hitmonlee using CC, then good for you

The fact that it doesn't help against SE or EQ is bad though

Better question is how solar power would help espeon... Sucker punch and shadow sneak from stuff like spiritomb still OHKOes and it takes SR damage every turn. Wonderful.

Though chlorophyll leafon would kick soooo much ass; it already does even without an ability (I mean has anybody ever actually seen leaf guard activate? lol)
 
bad, blaze kick got somewhat poor accuracy for main STAB move. that plus the fact its not really THAT powerful would turn flareon from horrible to not-so-horrible-but-still-sucks. but really its just kicking so why not?
 
Flareon's BST + Typing isn't salvageable without an incredible ability in the first place. Even with that sky-high attack stat, it would have to compete with Arcanine in UU. Well, it sits in NU currently anyways, and because of Arcanine I doubt it'd make UU. No Intimidate, too slow, no Morning Sun, no Extremespeed, and a lot less bulk.

I think Espeon or Umbreon might have abilities that deal with extending other field effects such as Trick Room and Gravity. I think Espeon could get this field effect ability, and then Umbreon could get Intimidate or something.

yeah, but it's still not cool how they do that to him anyways. i mean they could still give him fire fang or something

Arcanine outclasses it in every way this Gen. However, I honestly thing Nitro Charge+Flare Blitz would give some advantages over Arcanine. Even after a 1+ boost on a neutral nature, Flareon would outspeed Base 105 Pokemon, which is what most of UU consists of. FB off of 130 ATK is nothing to scoff at. Factor in a FF boost, to top it off.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if that basurao thing's evolution turns out to be an electric eel. I mean really, the thing pretty much looks like a stunted one already.

I'm actually starting to wonder how many things in the Dream World'll get new abilities. It's "obvious" the eeveelutions are getting new abilities, of course (Glaceon has the best so far, and even then, it's pretty meh an ability in my opinion), though I'd laugh if Tyranitar got even BETTER with Sand Scatter as a 2nd ability. Makes me hope even more that Skarmory evolves and learns Hyper Beam... XP

I just don't want it to get Nitro Charge if it is special, but it would work out very nicely. Blaze kick would be amazing though. And IMO, Vaporeon has the best ability, Hydration. I would love a Skarm evo with higher Sp. Def :)
 
Dunno if this has been mentioned before... Just throwing it out there. There are lots of things I'm personally praying for with this Dream World ability "mixer" other than the Eeveelutions. Think anything that gets a weird ability. Two prime things I'm hoping for are Weavile and Flygon. Weavile might get something else other than stupid Pressure, Flygon may very well get Tinted Lens! One can only pray so much...

Also, one must consider the legendary Pokemon in this; if it's possible to see legendary things in this Dream World (I doubt it, but can hope), we may see stuff other than the most common Uber ability: Pressure. Can anyone say Flash Fire Ho-Oh? It makes sense to me at least.

Just look over the list at who gets one ability, then think what you could also see on it that might make sense. No silly Pure Power Slaking here, sadly. Who knows, though? GF may pull a Breloom on us again with a new ability or two... or seven...

I never even thought about Weavile... he could get Technician. Pursuit + Ice Shard would be fun. As for Ho-oh, Magic Guard. Oh boy, no SR weakness, no recoil for Brave Bird OR Life Orb. xD

Do we have any info that says pokemon other than the eveelutions will get new abilities in the dream world? Did I miss it?

I seem to remember a picture of the eeveelutions with it saying something in Japanese in relation to BW; I figured this is what it was talking about.
 
I don't expect them to have any Legendaries caught in the dream world, so Regigigas is out of luck... I also don't see Slaking getting another ability... Can't think of anything that would fit thematically with him. After all, flavor is what comes first while designing Pokemon (at least usually)
 
Regigigas should get Stall. Or Klutz. Or Slow Start should be nerfed to only reduce its Attack and Speed by one third (no seriously, it would actually be quite usable if so).

Guys, farfetch'd was in the third trailer. pause at like 2:27, he's in the dudes roster. I think he's actually getting one. Of all pokes, they put a farfetch'd?! Pretty fishy

Well I'd bet that one ability (Sand Throw, likely) will turn out to be just superior enough to be ubiquitous. Unless the Sand Power boost is high enough to outclass a choice band.

Yes, please. And in a perfect world they'd give Jolteon Intimidate, or Special Intimidate. yeah.
 
Snaps, I just realized that Pidgeot's abilities might get a major boost. That would be really awesome and might be what it needs to get pushed up to UU. Probably not, but stillllllll.
 
Not to burst your guys' bubbles, but I think it would be ridiculously unfair to other pokemon if Slaking or Regigigas had an ability that did not reduce their capabilities. They would both have to be banned from OU for being too good. Imagine a faster, bulkier Snorlax that already has a curse but no speed drop. Yah, that's never going to happen.
