there needs to be some dragons that dont use steroids
This so much. Why is Altaria so lonely? Can't they make one or two dragon lines this gen that are just meh power-wise? Or, GASP, a defensive-minded dragon?

While we're throwing around evo's and prevo's . . .

Evo's- Mawile / Sableye / JYNX / Torkoal / Carnivine / Lanturn / DUNSPARCE / Spinda / Kecleon / FARFETCH'D

Prevo's- None if they can help it. If any, they should be for single-stagers like Tropius and Skarmory. And they should BROADEN THEIR MOVEPOOLS. Wasn't that the whole purpose for them to begin with? Tropius' prevo could give him Heal Bell or something, and Skarmory could get Yawn.

I read this article thing on Bulbapedia about the origin of Farfetch'd which leads me to be leave that Farfetch'd is pure novelty and purposefully sucks shit at everything. So I don't think we'll ever see a Farfetch'd evolution. Here's the link http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/On_the_Origin_of_Species:_Farfetch%27d

Carnivine needs an evolution to expand on his whole levitate ability. It never made any sense to me. I can see a split Chinchao evolution too. A more fierce physical sweeper orentated angler than cute bubbly defensive lanturn

Am I the only one who actually WANTS Altaria to evolve? Normal/Dragon with ~540 BST and Natural Cure/Levitate. Fuck you Dragonite, there's a much more competent defensive dragon in town.

@ Percussionist: We're supposed to get an image from OhaSuta next Friday.

Problem is, we got this info from a rumor...

ah, lol swablu is so cute ;P i love the idea of more normal types, ie normal/ghost, normal/steel would be cool just give it good stats/movepool to make up for the 4x fighting weakness ^___^

I still doubt mamanbou(sp?) has anything to do with luvdisc. In my opinion delibird needs an evolution, because his highest stat is 75 speed, and the rest are absolute crap. And even though he can learn rapid spin he's 4x weak to SR. It's just sad, really. I could see him evolving into some fat santa bird.

Gotta look on the bright side, it gives something to look forward to. Gotta go from one event to the next to pass time and it's better then waiting for CoroCoro

This. I've always thought that Altaria was wasted potential. There's no sense in making every Dragon type great, except one. They could go so many places with this evolution.

At least it's something. Rumors usually generate good discussion, so at least we're kept entertained.

OK well if Altaria gets an evo then Dragonite gets Curse and Thick Fat, cause that's just not fair to Barney :|.

@ Mario With Lasers: This info coming from the rumor makes me think it's indeed true. Why would they make up something and give us a small time frame before we find out its legitimacy? If I were to make up a rumor, I'd want to keep people believing it for as long as possible. If they do show something next Friday, we can't rule out the rumors, but if we don't, we can disregard them altogether.

Skamory needs no more moves, unless the B/W metagame becomes extremely psycho and we'd be seeing SkarmBliss breakers at every turn.

Am I the only one who thinks Mamanbou could have something to do with Luvdisc, despite not actually evolving from each other? Kind of like how Plusle and Minun do, like Solrock and Lunatone, the Nidorans, or even Tauros+Miltank. I'm not sure if it'd be anything more than just a symbol or if there'd actually be a point to it, but maybe Mamanbou will suck too, but if you breed them together you get some awesome water type. Or maybe if you have both in your party you'll get free heart scales or something.

It seems like the type of thing that they wouldn't necessarily reveal right away (like an evolution), and also makes sense with the all new pokemon, that it wouldn't be in the same line as something that already exists.

But Mamanbou dwarfs Luvdisc and will probably be useful.
Plus, beyond Miltank (who one could argue gets a pass due to genders) all of those were introduced in the same generation as version counterparts, are roughly the same size (maybe some size discrepancy between the bovine?) and have the same (ish) base stat totals just with different areas of expertise.

So a sudden counterpart two generations later that will probably have a better stat distribution and abilities would be a bit off.

edit: Also it wouldn't really be a counterpart at all. Plusle & Minun are plus & minus; the bovine & nidos male & female;Lunatone & Solrock are the moon and sun.

Am i the only one who even thinks that Luvdisc evolves into Mamanbou now? I realize that it was never shown to evolve from it, but come on people.

Anyway, Altaria does not need an Evo, and I say this maybe only because it's a fantastic UU. I feel that it would really suck if all that we had to use in UU were pseudos's second forms Dx

Finally, to those who complain about things that need an evolution, take a VERY cursory look at the NU list. Eliminate some of the top-tier pokemon (Persian, the high power fires, Primeape, and Espeon), weather exclusives (Cradily, Glaceon, Walrein, and a crapton of seldom used RD pokes), and a few oddballs that are actually okay (Quagsire, Articuno, Shuckle, I believe Qwilfish, Gastrodon, Drifblim, etc.) and you're looking at a plethora of crappy pokes. It doesn't take a special person to point out some random NU needs an evolution... most of them do in general; this is why they're NU.

List of evo wants so far:
Luvdisc==>Beast Rain Dance sweeper and/or screwy upper
Altaira==>The Support Dragonite with better stats
Corsola==>The master support pokemon/Sub breaker/screwy upper/Hustle sweeper

since where on the discussion of evos...
CACTURNE
sableye
sudowoodo (water a tree, and get that? its needs something better)
altaria
mightyena

I think the short list of evolutions should include those of types that just don't work. Ice pokemon and Poison pokemon are the ones I am thinking of.

Swalot, Muk, Weezing, Skuntank, Venomoth and other Poison types all have too low base stats to be worth using over other pokemon. A lot of these pokemon have very good movepools, so all they really need is a little boost to be massively better.

Ice types are just too defensively frail without having a good ability to help out (Thick Fat/Filter/Solid Rock), or a good secondary defensive type like Steel, which I think is way too unlikely. Jynx is the primary pokemon that needs the boost, but prevos or new abilities/evolutions for Dewgong, Cloyster, Lapras, Regice, and Articuno could go a long way towards making them usable.

Poison is my favorite type, so I would love to see them upgrade it a bit, especially offensively. One more type advantage is all it needs.

To be fair, I've seen all of those Poison types used to great effect, bar Swalot. Just because they're not Standard doesn't mean their not great in their respective tiers. I do agree that Ice needs a buff, tough. Preferably a defensive one, as defensive Ice types just don't work well, considering their only resistance is themselves. I think it should at least resist Grass and Bug, as neither can servive in extreme cold.

Ice should be immune or resistant to Water, because Water resists Water, and Ice is (most times) frozen water.

But what happens if you pour water over ice? Unless the water is itself considerably chilled, water will melt ice. If anything (not that this should happen) Water would be SE on Ice.
