4.0 actually :P Meowth, Skitty, Glameow, new guy. Actually, this is the first one that isn't plain old normal.
Hopefully it has an evolution that is cooler than the first form, because that is something we haven't seen since Persian.

Ehh, it looks a lot like Glameow. Maybe it's just the pose, which is either incredibly lazy or it's intentional the exact same pose as Glameow, albeit turned 90 degrees. Complete with the bitchface and half-closed eyes. It even has Limber. Not complaining, but they're very similar pokemon.
And it's different than Aipom and Yanappu, because Gamefreak obviously has the capacity to draw cats without those features. See Meowth, Persian, Skitty, Delcatty, Mew.
I agree. I'm looking for a new ace for my team, and the Bomb-omb looks to be my choice this gen. Very glad that its a 3-stager.

Venusaur resembles a toad more than Kannemeyeria, and Torterra is more of a turtle than an ankylosaurus (though it obviously has some characteristics). Considering dinosaurs are a group of reptiles, I think it's safer to say Grass-type starters are based off reptiles or amphibians, rather than just dinosaurs.
