Abilities down as "to be translated" on Serebii's page...

Tauros = Encourage

So.. if Encourage stops negative side effects on all attacks, Tauros is going to be spamming Giga Impacts left and right. (if it doesn't work with Giga Impact, then Double Edge).

Stalling Clefable could be torn between Magic Guard and Unaware. There are other good Magic Guard users now, so it might actually be better to play Unaware at times so that something like a non-Choice Band Gyarados can't do much to it.

Dragon Dance Rest Lapras with Hydration, paired with Politoed? ...eh, seems a bit contrived. Nice effort at a new ability, though.

Guts for poor neglected Flareon. Well, I guess Flareon is slow enough that paralysis doesn't matter much, but that's the whole problem. It can't even really abuse Toxic poisoning because it doesn't have the Speed for that, and it's immune to burn...

Electivire with Vital Spirit can switch in on Trick Swimming Goggles, I guess.

Excellent choice for Poison Heal on Gliscor. It's going to love recovering even more HP every turn.

Thick Fat was much-needed for Mamoswine, and also an excellent choice. Now it can take Ice attacks and get in on something other than Thunderbolt.

That about covers it for older Pokemon learning abilities we already know the names of that are listed in the first post (as opposed to A125 and such)...

Don't know what the new ones are for Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Arcanine, Slowbro, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Feraligatr, Crobat, Slowking, Forretress, Heracross, Ursaring, Skarmory, Smeargle, Salamence, Empoleon, Drifblim, Lucario, Weavile, and Gallade, but I can't wait to find out since those are a bunch of other Pokemon I like and most of them have either junky abilities, highly overspecialized abilities (Own Tempo against Dynamicpunch), or a good ability but it's the only good option. Tyranitar too, kind of, but Sand Stream is really hard to argue with.

I have two things to say.

1.Blaziken

2.Speed Boost

Finally, Blazi will be OU!

EDIT: THE ALREADY HUGE FIRE/GHOST NOW HAS SHADOW TAG!

*run away in fear*

edit2: Oh, yeah. I forgot we CAN'T run away.

Wait, your forgetting 130 Base Power Stab Fighting Attack(High Jump Kick)

This Blaziken would be OU in this Metagame for sure, however it is yet to see how it will do in the new OU.

But it now rivals the Monkey.

OMG gliscor gets poison heal in dream world =0

Yep, seems like he'll be even more useful.

Blaziken with Speed Boost? rofl. I guess he has something over Infernape now, especially if you can breed the abilities (Baton Pass egg move), huh? Speaking of Infernape, he got Iron Fist. I suppose it helps boost Fire Punch, ThunderPunch and Mach Punch, but other than that it's pretty useless. Politoed gets Drizzle... see you in Ubers! Shell Armor Torterra >_<, that ability better have a boost this gen. Vital Spirit is more useful for Magmortar, I suppose. Gochi gets fucking Shadow Tag. Good god. Same with Shanderaa? WTF. As if 145 base Special Attack wasn't insane. I'm still waiting to see what Dragonite's ability is. ._.

While we will have to wait and see, Blaze definitely stands a better chance this time around than Infernape and Emboar. Speed is a huge issue, and not many of the new fighters have it.

I could see it setting up on the new Grass/Steel, Celebi/Shaymin, the plethora of steels, the new and improved bugs...ample opportunities to use the set of resists unique to it and its Fire/Fighting brethren.

Idea instead of banning off pokemon because of Dream World ability:

Two tiers

1. Standard
2. Dream World Clause- dream world abilities allowed.

Besides, we don't even know how over or under powered these abilities will be in this gen, except for Shadotag on the ghost which I'm sure we all can agree is crazy.

There are enough crazy new moves and crazy new pokemon (not to mention old pokemon with crazy new abilities) that could make this all go over smoother than expected.

Heracross gets that Earthquake Spiral/Arrogance ability?

I smell a comeback, with the choice scarf set turning from a revenge killer into a sweeper.

Dream world clause would be the simplest move, but it would mean some mon with good abilities wouldn't get used, just because no-one would want to go against the broken ones.

THE HERABOSS IS BACK!

And I also think, at least until we understand this new metagame more, that a Dream World clause should be implemented.

Don't be so sure about Heracross being back.

The Fighting Type now has more competition than it ever has.

Speed Boost+130 Base Power Blaziken

3 Legendary Fighters

Iron Fist Monkey

140 Base Attack Fighter

You get my point.

My bet is that Heracross is either going straight to UU, or becomes the the most used Fighter(because of all the Psychich Wonder Guards).

Most likely it will be sent to UU this metagame.

Lasty, the dream world abilities are just that..Abilities.The dream world is just a way to catch old Pokemon, epcept they come a little different..

No.. in fact, until we understand the new metagame, a dream world clause should NOT be implemented.
Think about it, the power creep is steeper with each generation.
As someone has stated in either this thread, or another one, If all are broken, none are broken

And the ones that arent quite so broken end up in UU/BL

We only have 50 pokes in OU, im sure we could come up with 50 "BROKEN" mons, making OU, not broken.

Sending an ability combo to Ubers is really dumb. That's like, playing Smashboards dumb. Let's not be Smashboards please and have a respectable ruleset.

And if any of the abilties are super duper broken, just send that specific Pokemon/Ability combo to Ubers, right?

We don't know if anything is broken yet.

And that does seem more logical than banning a whole bunch of abilities, I think.

That'll be uber too methinks....

My favourite Pokemon so far has to be #609 Fire/Ghost Shanderaa, it has a whopping base 145 special attack, plus it has respectable base 80 speed along with 60/90/90 defenses, so bai bai scarf tran.... Heatran only advantages are it's steel typing, explosion, and better defences. Specs Shanderaa will also RAPE teams with Fire Blast n stuff.

Honestly just based on the stats, it looks like it will end up as a suspect before too long, but we will have to see the movepool and everything to find out for sure. The only thing keeping it back would be the speed, but a scarf can patch that up easy, and we haven't even seen the other choice items that might be available, yet.

Lol everyone on smashboards johns about everything being broken alllll day.

EDIT: THE ALREADY HUGE FIRE/GHOST NOW HAS SHADOW TAG!

Not sure if this is actually true because I did't look into it myself, but if it does actually have shadow tag, it will be uber without a doubt. Wobbs is an uber BECAUSE of shadow tag, so imagine a wobbuffet that can just attack you when you are stuck on the CB close combat.
