One, quick question about Emerald Method 2 (sweer scented wild) RNG
Does same location + Same frame = Same Species?
Does same location + Same frame = Same Species?
no unlike fourth gen there aren't set encounter slots for a Pokemon in Emerald so you can find different pokemon on the same frame in the same area. Of course, it may take more tries to find a rare Pokemon when compared to a more common one. One, quick question about Emerald Method 2 (sweer scented wild) RNG
Does same location + Same frame = Same Species?
Ok, so I'm trying to rng heatran. I have an odd delay, so I insert a GBA game into the slot. For some reason i kept getting even delays, so I took out the GBA game figuring I mixed up which game gives me odd/even delays with the GBA. However, I still got even delays. This has never happened before, I have rnged all the other legends except this tran and mesprit and they have all worked fine. Can anyone help?
Thanks, its working fine now. Thats a really strange thing to happen. It's happened to me before, and changing the year usually works. I don't know why it happens sometimes.
Honestly, it's easiest to verify your seed, then use the top right radio button a few times (it advances 13-14 frames each use I believe), and use elm calls to locate your position when you are close to your target. Sweet scenting to advance the frame probably isn't a good way to go about it.I've been recently only RNG breeding in my SS game, but now I'm trying to RNG a few pokemon there via Method K.
I'm in Cerulean Cave to test my Sweet Scent frame. I hop onto my bike, save, reset, etc. Upon getting back to the game, I Sweet Scent and catch a pokemon. After checking it's IVs, I use the seed I got in RNG reporter to see the spreads and see that my pokemon has the Frame 2 spread. This means that Sweet Scent will consistently advance the frame by 2, right? Or does me being on a bike affect it as well? Are my results dependent on whether or not I have a pokemon following me?
Could someone also make sure I've got my math and steps right as well, if Sweet Scent will advance my frame by 2? Target frame is 148.
-10 Elm Calls to verify my seed. (10 frames advanced)
-8 further Elm Calls to advance RNG. (18 frames advanced)
-Sweet Scent to advance frame (20 frames advanced)
-20th pokemon's actual frame is 143, faint pokemon (143 frames advanced)
-Something to advance 3 more frames; maybe Elm Calls to ensure I'm on the right frames (146 frames advanced)
-Sweet Scent to reach Target Frame (148 frames advanced)
Do the steps effect the rng abuse on HG/SS?
Depends where you're stepping. In an area with wild pokes with or without repel is 1 step = 1 frame. But if there are no wilds, than it's 256 steps = how ever many pokes you have in your party when you make that 256th step.
Well.... I wanted to try to get my own red gyarados from the Lake of Rage on my SS version.
So if you save in front of him, you turn or move your frame will advance by 1.
Do I figure out the frames, the delays, and everything of the gyarados exactly the way how I did on the rng reporter when I was trying to get the heatran or is there a difference?
I don't think there is a difference. You check your delay by calling Elm or checking the roamers. Then advance the frame through whichever method you like (radio, elm, walking). I believe this is correct.
Correct, it's generated using the Chained Shiny (Theoretical) method found on the latest version (s) of RNG Reporter, so to find a decent spread, you;d have to use a program like PokeRNG to generate a bunch of seeds with the IVs you want, enter that seed into RNG Reporter, select Chained Shiny (Theoretical), hit Generate, and see what nature corresponds to that IV spread. The nature is based on your ID/SID so for a particular seed it varies form game to game. I believe the latest RNG Reporter gives accurate frames for the Red Gyarados and other Pokemon generated through this method. Once you've found a seed that gives the Red Gyarados with an IV/nature combo you want, RNG as normal, find a target time/delay, use the radio/elm/joey calls to verify seed and advance frame, etc. It has a starting frame of 1.I am not 100% on this, but I think the Red Gyarados of the game plot uses the algorithm for shinies and has weird frames. When I tried to do the Red Gyardos catch, I did not get the predicted frames. So I haven't done it. It'd be easier to just catch a red Gyardos using an encounter slot than to catch the one from the game plot. See the second post of this thread where it's mentioned.
Okay, So.... Isn't there pokeRNG software or something that I can use to figure out the delays, the frame, and the seed for the gyarados on SS (since the PokeRNG that I have only workds for D/P/Platinum)?
Or does the same PokeRNG software also works for the HG/SS games as well?
PokeRNG comes up with method 1, J, and K. So yes it gives HGSS which is method K, or method 1.
