Oh
Either Jolly or Adamant

You can pair nite with magnezone to trap and remove skarmory and foretress before attempting a sweep. If you can't add magnezone to your team, yes fire punch can be used instead of roost.
Just be sure not to switch nite in and out without a spinner or a wish passer

Sometimes Pokemon Online, but really gen 4 battling has really slowed. Battles generally have to be scheduled, and people meet on the CAP server in Shoddy.

Probably Fire/Ground.

It is resisted by Dragonite and Pelipper (lol), whereas Fire/Rock is resisted by:
Swampert
Rock/Ground Types
Flygon

Although it depends on your Pokemon and team.

Let's be a bit more specific then:

Tiers and abilities notwithstanding, which of those two combinations covers the most of existing types/type combinations?

Hello fellow users of Smogon, I come to you with something I am having a hard time figuring out:

I am currently raising a Heracross in SS (properly trained), and while I am going for the Swords Dance build, I am having a hard time as to whether use a Flame Orb or Toxic Orb.

Does the Attack drop still happen when a pokemon has Guts as the ability? Because I'd really have to say this is the only reason that's preventing me from using Flame Orb, but if other suggestions can be made, I'd appreciate input.

Guts ignores burn's Attack drop.

Whether you use Toxic Orb or Flame Orb depends on how long you plan on keeping Heracross in for. Toxic's damage equals that of burn after 3 turns, and after that, Toxic does more. This makes Flame Orb the superior choice for Pokemon that are expected to stay in for a single make-or-break sweep, whereas Toxic Orb is preferable for hit and run attackers.

If you are talking about your "three bears" question the answer IS 3. Just because you say that 2 plus 2 does not equal 4 does not make it true.

Instead of wondering why people answer your question "wrong" maybe you should examine your own mind for flaws.

If I'm playing 3-vs-3 singles Stadium mode ubers with PBR, Latios would generally be a better choice than Latias (since the 3-vs-3 battles are more geared towards offense), right?

I'd go with Latios, yes. 3 vs. 3 tends to be much more geared towards offense, so the Sp. Att. is nore needed than Sp. Def.

Cathy left, and she took Lab with her because she was mostly responsible for it. As such, we no longer have a server on it, so we are just waiting to get one somewhere else, like Pokemon Online or something.

Hey Smogon!

So I now that Black and White are very new, and therefore relitively little is known about it. In DPPt, one could use the Pokeradar and Masuda Method in order to better the odds of getting a shiny. I've looked around to see if such methods are available in Black and White. When I ask this I don't mean like RNGing or anything like that, but are there anyway ways, perhaps that we've already seen, perhaps not, that increase the chance of finding a shiny pokemon? Is anything about this known or even discussed about yet?

Ask in the Uncharted Territory section. This area is for discussion of 4th gen. However, I have not heard of one. I don't think anyone has found one yet.

my question is in reference to stats and IV calculators...

i've EV trained my vaporeon. Bold 252 hp 128 def 128 SpDef and "likes to relax". its currently level is 53 stats are hp 253 atk 71 def 117 spatk 133 spdef 113 spd 81. when i put this info into the calculator it comes up with impossible IVs for some of the stats... so what am i doing wrong?

It is possible you counted the EVs incorrectly or something. Basically, just check everything you input into the calculator.

Oh, and welcome to Smogon. :)

Is HP always shown as Impossible on the IV calculator?

edit: Nevermind on that one my tyranitar's hp value doesnt show as impossible just the speed and special defense....

Ok so I've spent some time trying to find a solution for my problem but nothing yet...
My platinum on DS has randomly taken a shit on me.... this happened after a routine save and power off, when I turned my game on a blue screen with the message: a communication error has occurred appeared and takes me to a white screen when I pressed A.. There was more to the message but I'm typing on my phone. What could have caused this and how do I fix it? I've tried deleting my save but after saving and resetting DS I still get the same msg. I did not drop or damage my DS in anyway and this happened an hour after my last save.
I bought the game from gamestop so maybe I can go trade it in or something if its an error with the cartridge

Last night I was playing in the Battle Tower with a cobbled-together doubles rain team and it went pretty well. My problem is that my rain starter (Toxicroak) didn't tend to do much after getting the rain up. What's a bulky non-water that can set up rain and take advantage of it? Jirachi would be perfect but this is the Battle Frontier so that isn't an option.

Scizor and Jolteon would work well. Especially Jolteon. If they don't need to take advantage of it, then Bronzong works well as well, especially in Doubles.
