Week Eight has concluded, and it was a week of change (finally!):

The tie for first place has finally been broken. Zangetsu had a tough week and slipped down to 4th place, allowing a surging Stallion to claim the lone spot atop the hill. Nipping at his heels is Somebody, who is one game out of the lead after another solid week. Another game back is danmantincan, who seems to like his Bronze Medal position. Echo and Shinryu had less-than-impressive weeks, not moving much but allowing a few others to catch up to them. Slyguy46 and WaterBomb made their moves, inching closer to the head of the pack at 7th and 8th. Da Letter El posted a very impressive 11-2 record this week, catapulting from near the back to a competitive 9th place. kd24 and JabbaTheGriffin fell out of the deadlock from last week, and have entered into a four way tie with the improving Bungalow Bill and Lakers. Among the other noteworthy changes were Galladiator, who posted a respectable 10-3 record and hauled himself from the depths into the middle tier. In opposing fashion, YoshiX dropped the ball and missed this week, falling like a rock from within striking distance of the lead to 3rd from the bottom. Alan continues to fight to dig himself out of his early hole, but suffered a setback this week with a mediocre showing. Keep at it Alan, we're rooting for you like we root for the Lions! Slyguy46 is once again worthy of special mention, posting yet ANOTHER 8 win week. We will assume that if there were an additional game he would have gone 8-6 instead of 8-5. In addition to all of this, he is the ONLY participant to have scored ABOVE .500 every week without fail. Finally, I will now observe a moment of silence for the fallen CaptKirby, who missed his second week in a row due to an acute case of diarrhea.

...........

With all of the drama we just saw unfold, who knows what surprises Week 9 will hold? Will Stallion further his dubious lead? Or will a new upstart capture that seed? Will tad38 show us he's not meek? And will Slyguy46 keep up his big streak? Zangetsu is reeling, his place out of whack. Will he have a chance to get it all back? Da Letter El wowed us with his efficient debut, so are more success stories yet to ensue? Six weeks are complete, and nine are to go. I hope this will turn into quite a good show!

WEEK NINE MATCHUPS ARE POSTED

i did so badly...

Arizona vs Minnesota

vs Detroit
New England vs Cleveland
San Diego vs Houston
Miami vs Baltimore
New Orleans
vs Carolina
NY Giants vs Seattle

vs Cincinnati

I really really want goofball to see this after his comments in the fantasy football thread...an Australian winning fantasy football and tipping in the same season would be cool! Anyway posting predictions later in the week!

Arizona vs Minnesota - Changed my mind. DA only does anything when he's coming off the bench in the MIDDLE of a game.
Chicago vs Buffalo - Buffaro has earned it, and I hate Jay Cutler.
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta - Sorry Tampa, I can't pick you here.
New York Jets vs Detroit - I know this will be wrong but fuck it I BELIEVE IN DETROIT!
New England vs Cleveland - Cleveland's schedule just keeps getting worse.
San Diego vs Houston - The win streak has begun.
Miami vs Baltimore - Gonna be too cold for Miami.
New Orleans vs Carolina - At least Carolina won't go 0-16 now.
NY Giants vs Seattle - I can't ever get Seattle picks right, so this will end up being wrong.
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia - I don't think Vick will be enough to beat the Indy Peytons
Kansas City vs Oakland - Sorry, I just can't fathom Oakland winning 3 straight.
Dallas vs Green Bay - DaLOLas.
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati - Ooh, this one is tough, especially being in Cincy...

Well, another day, another 8 Win Week. At least I'm being consistent, and am surprised to learn I'm the only person who hasn't gone under .500 one week. There is an old saying, slow and steady wins the race. ^_^

Arizona vs Minnesota
Chicago vs Buffalo
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta
New York Jets vs Detroit
New England vs Cleveland
San Diego vs Houston
Miami vs Baltimore
New Orleans vs Carolina
NY Giants vs Seattle
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia
Kansas City vs Oakland
Dallas vs Green Bay
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati

Some really good match-ups this week. Minnesota is for sure win if Favre starts, and Arizona without a proper QB is dieing and dieing fast. I still believe in Chicago, dammit. Tampa Bay is actually looking like the best team in the NFC, contrary to my snark last week. Jets WILL not lose two in a row. New England should dominate this game, but I have a funny feeling about the Browns right now. San Diego hasn't won a single road game all year: that's not changing. Baltimore's Defense can handle the Dolphins. New Orleans can beat the Panthers, even with their inconsistencies. Giants will be able to handle Seattle. Indy vs. a falling Philly - I'm going with Indy. Oakland is surging, and their only hope for playoffs this year is to beat KC right here, so they are going to go 100% for 60 minutes. GB can handle the Cowboys, Worst Team in NFC (TM). Finally, I can't see Pittsburgh to Cincy.

Naturally, all picks subject to change depending on injuries, bad moves, or who gets Randy Moss.

Arizona vs Minnesota Moss or no Moss, Max Hall sucks.
Chicago vs Buffalo No comment necessary.
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta Bleh.
New York Jets vs Detroit But Jahvid Best and Calvin Johnson combine for 6 TDs. (Yes, they're on my fantasy team.)
New England vs Cleveland Four words: The Browns suck. Period.
San Diego vs Houston I just don't think San Diego has it this year.
Miami vs Baltimore Ditto for Miami.
New Orleans vs Carolina Like beating a dead horse, trying to get it to move...
NY Giants vs Seattle Once again, bleh.
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia In the words of Admiral Ackbar, "IT'S A TRAP!!!"
Kansas City vs Oakland OK, who picked the matchups for this week?
Dallas vs Green Bay Eighth verse, same as first.
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati Big Ben goes for three TDs in a blowout.

Arizona vs Minnesota
Chicago vs Buffalo
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta
New York Jets vs Detroit
New England vs Cleveland
San Diego vs Houston
Miami vs Baltimore
New Orleans vs Carolina
NY Giants vs Seattle
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia
Kansas City vs Oakland
Dallas vs Green Bay
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati

I really want to pick Philly over Indy as well, but after the letdown from Texas, I just don't know...

Either way, predictions incoming later from me.

Damn. Last week was bad. Time to make up for it.

Arizona vs Minnesota
Chicago vs Buffalo
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta
New York Jets vs Detroit
New England vs Cleveland
San Diego vs Houston
Miami vs Baltimore
New Orleans vs Carolina
NY Giants vs Seattle
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia
Kansas City vs Oakland
Dallas vs Green Bay
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati

Time for Buffalo to get its first win. Also, I still think Oakland is a fluke.

Feelin' good about this week.

OK, it's time to break out of third place (and hopefully move up).

Arizona vs Minnesota - Even with all the distractions that have been going on during these past few weeks, the Vikings should be able to take this game without a lot of trouble.
Chicago vs Buffalo - Buffalo will win at least one game this season, but not this game.
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta - This pick will probably go back and forth during the week.
New York Jets vs Detroit - Easy win for the Jets.
New England vs Cleveland - Same as above.
San Diego vs Houston - May change if there are reports of Norv crying during the week.
Miami vs Baltimore - My gut says Miami, so this may change.
New Orleans vs Carolina - Despite the inconsistencies throughout the season, the Panthers shouldn't give the Saints much trouble.
NY Giants vs Seattle - After a blow to the Seahawks Defensive Line, the Giants should take this.
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia - This will be a close game, with Vick's return and Collie and Clark out for Indy.
Kansas City vs Oakland - I have no f***ing idea who to pick for this game. This will probably change multiple times throughout the week.
Dallas vs Green Bay - Whoever it was that said the Cowboys were 1-7 last week (I think it was Jerry Jones) was just preparing for their rant after this week's game.
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati - Easy win for the Steelers.

8-5, could be worse I guess. Still not going anywhere though.
Week 9:

Arizona vs Minnesota
Chicago vs Buffalo
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta
New York Jets vs Detroit
New England vs Cleveland
San Diego vs Houston
Miami vs Baltimore
New Orleans vs Carolina
NY Giants vs Seattle
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia
Kansas City vs Oakland
Dallas vs Green Bay
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati

Arizona vs Minnesota
Chicago vs Buffalo
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta
New York Jets vs Detroit
New England vs Cleveland
San Diego vs Houston
Miami vs Baltimore
New Orleans vs Carolina
NY Giants vs Seattle
Indianapolis vs Philadelphia
Kansas City vs Oakland
Dallas vs Green Bay
Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't notice until after I posted. I'm a big fan of Star Wars, and my pick just kind of fit, so...yeah.

I find it even funnier that we both thought of the same quote to describe the pick, independent of one another. Hi5!

<gives WaterBomb a high five>

Yeah!

And while I'm here...why do I keep picking Carolina to win week after week? I just stopped knowing, and any possible reasons are appreciated.
