Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

8C0202A1 My first seed that I tried also didn't work. Toastplusone couldn't find when he searched the RNG so he had me try this one.

Alright then. One thing to note is that you need to change both your ID and SID to get an egg with desired nature, ability, gender. There is an easier way that doesn't require you to change these IDs however. I'm assuming that you entered the information on the Time Finder correctly. This includes: International parents (If they are), the gender ratio of the specific pokemon, and HG/SS Shiny Egg box is checked off. Anyway, after you generate, you right click the spread you want and generate more times. This will take you to the seed to times adjacent finder. From here, you enter the year the spread you found was on, make sure it's on HG/SS and enter any roamers that are out. You then pick a Time from the first box. Enter in your +/- delays (99/99 is best) and +/- seconds (only if your seconds change). Generate one more time and you get your second box with the different delays for that seed. Try to find yours and set up your DS and try to hit it. However, it is not required to hit your delay. When you get into the game, figure out what delay you did hit, and copy the seed. Close the Adjacent times finder and go to RNG reporter's main screen. Paste the seed into the box that says seed hex, change the method to DPPt Egg PID (normal for regular parents) or (international for well international parents lol). Enter in the Nature, and ability wanted. Hit generate and hope for a low frame. A low frame is 20-50ish. Try to pick one that is an Odd number also. Now proceed to do Joey calls. If your frame was 29 (which is an odd number), you would call Joey 14 times and then ride around for your egg. Save infront of the old man, collect and hatch. It also doesn't matter whether you call Joey before or after you deposit the parents. Hope this helps :)

Correction. Your ID/SID doesn't need to be input correctly if it's not for a shiny. ID/SID is meant to make it shiny, it has nothing to do with the nature, ability, nor gender of your baby.

lol Here's a bit easier way to explain what I was trying to say

1. Go to Time Finder and clear out the boxes that ask for ID and SID
2. Input nature, ability, gender, etc.
3. Click generate.
4. Find a low frame and copy the seed to clipboard.
5. Go to Seed to Time button, click generate, and find the time and date from the one in Time Finder.
6. Reset time and date to try and hit that seed. It is not necessary to hit it though.
7. Input Elm calls or Roamer locations and find the seed you hit, if it wasn't the one from Time Finder.
8. If not the one from Time Finder, then copy the seed that you did hit.
9. Input this new seed into RNG Reporter Seed (Hex) and select the Egg PID
10. Narrow search by inputting wanted nature, ability, and gender.
11. Hope for a low frame.
12. Proceed to call Joey in order to get the that frame.
13. Save in front of DC Man when correct frame egg is ready.

From Riski's RNG Guide :)

Once again, you don't need to clear out your IDs.

Okay :) I would do the process that was mentioned, but I believe I'm doing something wrong, cause even when hitting delays and frames I'm not getting the poke I aimed for.

Well everyone, after lots of tries with my new SID number I finally hit the delay and second, did the flips and taps.. got my egg... AND IT WORKED!

I finally have my shiny Pidgey!!! The nature, gender and ability were all correct too. :D Guess it was just my SID being one number off, so strange. XD

Thank you all for your help, I can finally start getting this RNG stuff down now. XD

How do you RNG Abuse a Cresselia (A roamer) on Platinum?

Do you just RNG abuse exactly the same way how you RNG abuse a Legendary pokemon and wild pokemon?

It's like abusing a stationary legendary, but:
- it's method 1, not method J, so synchronisers dont work
- its monster frame is 5 instead of 1

Well, I just found out that an egg move I want I can only get in HeartGold/SoulSilver and I don't know how to breed for shinys in that game. I suppose the only difference is how you advance the frames? So rather than using the apps you..? Is there a link to info on RNGing in HS and SS?

I'm addicted now that it worked with the Pidgey. XD

Second post on the first page has information waiting for you Zorrioh :)
And HG/SS breeding is definitely easier than DPPt ^^

I have a feeling that my problem has to do with the frames on HG. What are all the possible ways of advancing the frame when going for the shiny egg part?

Hatching for shiny Eggs\Eggs of a certain nature

Unlike DPPt, HGSS does not have the benefit of coin flips and happiness taps, which were used to skip through eggs until one of the desired nature and\or shininess is found. In HGSS, eggs must be received\rejected from the Day-Care Man one at a time until the desired egg is reached. RNG Reporter (link in signature) has an option to search for very low egg PID frames, making it possible to find a shiny egg on the very first.

I'm not sure I completely get this. I read through the HGSS post you suggested and I don't get quite what the differences are or how they work. In the above paragraph it says to receive or deny the egg until I get the right one. How does this work? I assume taking and egg or denying an egg advances the frame (by how much?), but why not call Prof. Elm instead since that can advance your frame? How else is HGSS breeding for shinys different?

I was also not sure about how you checked for your seed. If you are trying to hit your delay like in DPPt you need to check it each time, but won't that mess up your frames (If you call elm to check, for example)? In the RNG reporter it actually said that it would take into account the coin flips that you did to check your seed, but it doesn't say that about calling Elm. If I check my seed will it screw up my chances for getting my shiny?

Try my guide in my thread. Link is in sig.

Alright here I go *cracks knuckles*

There are multiple ways of advancing your frame for a shiny egg. As you mentioned above you can either accept or deny an egg. What this means is, when the Daycare Man has an egg for you, he asks if you want this egg. If you hit yes or no, it doesn't advance your shiny egg frame (different than your Elm call/IV frame) at all, instead when a Pokemon egg is generated (when the daycare man gets it to give it to you) your frame then is advanced by 1, and will always be 1. Usually what I do is when searching for a shiny egg, I tend to look for an odd frame. As if you call Joey, each call with advance the frame by 2 (quick heads up, some people say that if he talks about battling you (which is on a monday), instead of his Rattatta, it won't advance, so keep that in mind. It always advances for me no matter what he says, I believe it's dependent on the game).
So say you have a shiny egg frame of 3. You'd call Joey once, and the first egg that you'd pick up is your shiny egg. Before picking it up, you'd save in front of him. Once you're done saving pick up the egg, hatch and see if everything is right. If not try and figure out what you're doing wrong.

As for seed veryfing, you are going to use Elm as seed verification, as long as you can see all three responses from him (One about Pokerus, one about Kanto, and one about Evolution. You need to have shown Nurse Joy [she heals your Pokes] a Pokemon that is currently infected or cured of Pokerus, you are going to need to have made it to Kanto, and show Elm any Togepi).

Elm call verification can mess up your IV frame and capturing frame, but not your shiny egg, so you can call Elm as many times as you want for your shiny egg to make sure that it's the right seed you hit.

You're going to want to check your seed, as you won't know if you hit it otherwise. What you do is, when you find your shiny seed in RNG reporter, simply right click and click the button that says "Adjacent Seeds" or something along those lines. That will bring up another window called Seeds To Time, there you will click HGSS, fill in the year. And below the seed part, it will tell you your sequence of Elm calls that will determine whether you hit the correct seed or not.

Whewww. I hope I didn't leave anything out, and I hope this understandable :P

Not confusing at all, that really helped clear things up, thanks. Thank you Riski as well. I'll give this a shot and get back to you all.

RELIABLY RNG-ABUSING THE HGSS ROAMERS POST-ELITE FOUR

(tested on HeartGold, US version) [Note: It has been reported that in European versions Entei is on frame 1 and Raikou on frame 5, rather than the other way around.]

First, a hat tip to Destiny100 for suggesting this method. This is pretty much his idea; I just typed up a short guide for it.

PREREQUISITES:

- Figure out the seed and frame you need to hit for your desired spread, either with RNG Reporter or another program. It is recommended that you select a frame as low as possible for your spread but not lower than 3.
- Have all 3 roamers (Entei, Raikou, Lati@s) released and roaming on the map. It is probably fine if you only have 2 roamers released, however.
- Familiarize yourself with the Roamer method for Seed Verifier.

NOTES:

When the roamers are regenerated post-E4, their stats are created via Method 1 on the following frames:

1st roamer: frame 1
2nd roamer: frame 6
3rd roamer: frame 11

The order for regeneration is Entei -> Raikou -> Lati@s. If all 3 roamers have been released and KOd, then defeating Lance will respawn Entei with frame 1's spread, Raikou with frame 6's spread, and Lati@s with frame 11's spread. If Raikou has been caught and the other 2 have been KOd, then Entei will respawn with frame 1's stats and Lati@s will respawn with frame 6's stats. If Entei is still roaming and the other 2 have been KOd, then Raikou will (probably) respawn on frame 2 and Lati@s on frame 7. The extra offset on the last example is due to the fact that having Entei on the map will cause the frame to automatically advance by (at least) 1 when the game starts.

HITTING YOUR SPREAD:

Make sure that all the roamers are released. Find and KO the roamer that you wish to abuse. The other roamer(s) must be roaming the map. I will assume that you have released all 3 roamers and fainted only the one you are currently trying to abuse.

Fight your way to Lance and stop one step in front of him. To be more precise, stop one step before the auto-walk sequence begins and forces you into the fight with him. Open your radio and drag the tuner to the very center so that no station is playing. Open the map and note the locations of the other roamers. Save your game.

Adjust your date/time settings and hit your desired seed. Use the Roamer method of Seed Verifier to confirm it.

Once you have hit your seed, use the radio to advance the frame. Remember, since you have 2 other roamers on the map, then you (probably) begin the count from frame 3 instead of frame 1. (Make sure to check the output of Seed Verifier to confirm whether you should start from 3.) So if your desired spread is on frame 100, you must advance the frame exactly 97 times. Use the bottom-right station of the radio to advance your frame. Keep in mind that Buena's Password does not advance the frame, and that commercials may throw off the count as well. Other programs on this station always advance the frame by 1. The other stations are not as consistent as this one. You may need to use a different date/time setting in order to get a program other than Buena's Password.

Once you advance to the desired frame, walk forward and beat Lance. Skip the credits and load the game once more.

Find the roamer you just respawned and capture it. Use a Master Ball if you have one. Check its stats to see if everything worked correctly. If you hit the wrong spread, figure out which frame it was respawned on and determine why you missed the one you wanted. Did you miscount the radio taps? Did you accidentally hit another station? Was some other program than Pokemon Search Party or Silver Drama playing? Did you properly verify your seed and starting frame? Restart and try again.

If you hit the correct spread, restart without saving. The roamer will keep its desired stats, and you get your Master Ball back. Furthermore, now you can repeat the process for one of the other roamers, and since you need multiple roamers released simultaneously in order to verify your seed, it's best that you don't actually capture and keep any of the roamers until all 3 of them have been respawned with the stats that you want.

There's something I don't get about this. Say I want to get Latios in my SS game and Entei and Raikou are still roaming. How do I start? The starting frame thing confuses me..

With two roamers still roaming, there will be two skipped frames on your frame list, just like with any other RNG that has two roamers roaming. Your target frame will be the same as usual.

That quote was about where the frames of the roamers are if all are fainted and regenerated at the same time. But that's not your situation.

Same here, what does it mean by starting frame? Also since I'm using an emulator, will it still be necessary to kill your desired Pokemon. (I made them all faint)

Okay, so if I want a Timid 31/31/31/31/31/31 Latios, which has a Method 1 Frame of 114 with this seed: d2140289, would I verify my Seed with the Roamers, and then advance to frame 113 and then walk up to Lance and defeat him?

Yes, that's correct. You'll need to use the lower left radio station to advance, however, so research the hours that a radio show is playing (not Buena's Password).

can someone tell me the main thing in gen 5 rng.
i googled it and can't find anything. Any help about how to rng in black and white would be appreciated.
