Snorlax

Okay just did a few matches.

Crunch did a better job really then Pursuit. All the Chandys that stayed in got Crunched and died. All the ones that switched out to their Blazikens or Infernapes got a big fat substitute in their face followed by an Earthquake. Sub>Pursuit on switches. Hes still awesome! :D

Thick fat let him survive a Fire Blast from a Chandy at about 30%-40% health. And it was a critical hit. He's a good Chandelure counter.

I used:

Crunch
Sub
Earthquake
Curse

Curse....I didn't have a chance to use it effectively. Every time I did I just got Close Combatted to death or I got Encored or something. So I probably will need a better filler.

So what?? It will probably weaken him enough that he can't get back in safely (with stealth rock).

My thoughts too. Although Crunch ended up being way better in the end of my short 3 battle testing. ^_^'

It can't kill him >.>
Chandy can just switch out and using Pursuit makes you weaker against everything else.(In the sense that you do less damage)

I havent tried Pursuit on a Chandy (they always stay in....its odd) but I'm SURE it would do at least 50%. If it did 50% then it'd kill Chandy cuz if it ever wanted to come in again, it'd die from SR dmg.

I already did a calc, unless you run a choice band, Adamant 252 Attack Snorlax does a max of 80% to Chandelure.
So Pursuit only does like 40% if Chandy stays in.

Well it shouldnt stay in. It cant do anything! ^_^' Either way it would die. But I preferred Crunch cuz it was more versatile.

I don't see how 40% means it would die, but whatever.
Even Crunch doesn't OHKO.

Though if you have SR, there's a big chance Crunch will kill and even if you don't Chandy can't switch back in.

Crunch > Pursuit
For Snorlax anyway.

Dude, 40% + 40% is 80% which means it will die. Snorlax will take forgettable damage and it will die. Whats it gonna do? Energy Ball?

Ok, so it switches in and kills one your mons, you switch in Snorlax to force it out, you hit it with Pursuit as it switches out and it's left with 20% HP.
It's still alive.

Like I posted a while back: 71.26% - 84.29%

Pursuit can't OHKO without Stealth Rock. Actually, even if you hit it with Pursuit, there's a chance it wont die even with Stealth Rock.
This is Adamant 252 Attack Snorlax, so there's NO way a bulky Snorlax can come close to killing.

We've been taking SR into account. Its officially dead.

But I carry Substitute and use it whenever I send Laxy out against Chandy. Chandys that stay in don't break it, and ones that leave usually switch to something Snorlax can OHKO like Infernape/Blazekin. The sub gives it the... "speed" it needs to beat them though.

"71.26% - 84.29%"

There's still a chance, and choosing to Sub defeats the whole purpose of calling it "officially dead" since you did nothing to Chandy at all.

Subbing gets rid of Snorlax's counters using Snorlax himself as bait. It also allows you to take an additional hit after Chandelure dies.

Also, Snorlax beats Chandelure easily. No denying it. 70% every time Chandelure faces Snorlax means its going to die. I've faced many Chandelure and none have survived a Crunch so I have no idea why your making it seem like he can't kill em. And there's no chance anyways. 1st time it comes out its down at 75%. Even it it survives, SR, Sand Storm or any other entry hazards will lead to it's demise. 2nd Time its in its dead. 50%. Game over man, skkaareeewd.

I made an actual calc.
Chandelure WILL NOT die to a Snorlax's Pursuit UNLESS its taken Stealth Rock damage and even if it does, the kill is NOT guaranteed.

Why is that hard to understand?

Moreover, if the Chandelure stays in to finish you off since you probably won't 2HKO it with a weakened Pursuit, it'll kill Lax before it kills Chandy. You may as well use Crunch - either kill it if it stays in or damage something on the switchin at least.

I understand. Its just that it WILL die. Later. If history repeats itself then Pursuit will happen later in the match and it will die. And if sent in AGAIN it will die from SR damage. 2 SR = 50% health. Stuff like sandstorm would be enough to garuntee a kill as well. Its dead. Its going to die. And if it lives it will die shortly after unless a Spinner is around AND Snorlax is dead.

Fix the CB set's EVs, it should be 252 Atk, 252 Sp.def, 4 def. Adamant.

Slash Return instead of heavy bomber, stab and 102 base power are infinitely better than anything Heavy bomber can offer, except ghosts, obviously. Have Crunch slashed somewhere, Max hp starmie can actually oustall pursuit if it doesn't switch.

The tank set should have whirlwind somewhere, it's great.

I'd honestly wouldn't want the Chandelure to be throwing around Fire Blasts at my team for even a single extra turn...

Actually if Chandy gets hit with stealth rock and then gets hit with pursuit as it switches and lives with 2% or whatever... You know that stealth rock will kill him on the return to the field no matter what, so you effectively still get the kill on Chandy...

Unless they spin the hazards away.

Snorlax VS Chandy = Snorlax wins. Even with pursuit not being a OHKO is will cripple a already slower pokemon into the range of being KO'd by almost anything. SR would mean it is basically guaranteed dead. 1 layer of spikes+SR = dead for sure.

If you aren't using pursuit then Crunch kills Shandy if it stays in, and wounds anything that switches in. The Defense drop can even make it more annoying.

Personally though I find Curselax to benefit my teams the most. A Bulky Set upper that takes pitiful damage from all ghosts, and once it starts cursing up little from physical mons too.

Pursuit has the same power as Crunch if Chandy switches out.
Chandy can't hurt Snorlax. So whether or not it switches against crunch/pursuit is irrelevant. Snorlax wins against chandy, unless you can find a move that hurts snorlax as much as snorlax hurts shandy.
