While EV Training, does a Pokemon get credit towards EVs if they start the battle but then swap out to let another Pokemon down the enemy? I ask because trying to train a Wobbuffet for the daughter.

:Quick Edit: Game would be HeartGold and Pokemon swapping in would be an Effort Ribbon'd Staraptor

I'm trying to make a Baton Pass team for the D/P Battle Tower and I was thinking of going:
Ninjask (Swords Dance) -> Lunatone (CM + Cosmic Power) + Mixed Mence / Infernape / Lucario / Kingdra / Garchomp
Other, lesser options include Armaldo, Drapion, or Kabutops for Battle Armor, but their Special Attack stats aren't too great with only a few Calm Minds.

I'm only unsure of how to approach Ninjask. I was thinking of a max Defense spread:

Ninjask @ Yache Berry
Nature: Impish
~Swords Dance
~Protect
~Substitute
~Double Team / Attract / X-Scissor
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

I did a ton of calculations and it survives every +Atk Ice Shard in the Battle Tower with Yache (even Weavile), and most even without Yache. Furthermore, it laughs at every Aqua Jet, survives +Atk Arcanine and +Atk Togekiss Extremespeed. The only Bullet Puncher is Metang who I won't even bother to do calculations with. Also, it outspeeds every Choice Scarf user after one Speed Boost, so Max Speed really isn't necessary. There isn't a single Vacuum Wave (not that it would do anything anyways), so 4 SpD is probably all I need. Quick Claw will probably be a problem, unfortunately, so I might have to adjust for some SpD.

It seems ridiculous to aim for a bulky Ninjask and i know it's a noobish Pokemon in real competitive battle, but it survives so much and it has great utility.

As far as the other Pokemon go, I'll figure them out myself, but I just wanted to see if bulky Ninjask was the way to go.
If the female pokemon holds an everstone while breeding, it allows the nature of the pokemon to have a 50% chance to be passed on to the offspring. Does the same apply to a pokemon with the desired nature bred with a Ditto?
The other Pokemon MUST be female, and obviously the Ditto can't also hold the Everstone.

A Pokemon will EVs if it gains experience for killing a Pokemon (aka, it participates against the Pokemon and doesn't die). This also applies for Exp Share, where you don't even need to send your Pokemon out.

@NixHex: The problem with Baton Pass chains is that you are very vulnerable to hax, becuase if one attack misses the your sweeper is dead and if the is one Quick Claw activation then your chain is disrupted. I've tried it before. However, if you do want to try Baton Pass then that bulky Ninjask does seem reasonable, however, there is one major problem with it:

It doesn't have Baton Pass. Cool sweeper.

@NixHex: Go with Focus Sash if you are going to lead off with baton passer Ninjask. Whether or not it's "bulky" it will still be 2HKO'd anyway, so why not just have a focus sash so it will guarantee 2 hits almost in all cases? Sash might seem redundant with sub, but staying alive and passing speed and no sub is still better than dying to a quick claw or crit hax. Last slot should be Baton Pass because Ninjask will not survive long enough for double team.

I think I'm one of the few who have used baton passing somewhat successfully in Battle Tower (290 streak)... and I did it with defensive boosts only. IF, however, you want to use offensive boosts (speed mainly), you should give Breloom a try as your sweeper, because all it needs is +1 speed and it should be able to beat nearly all BT pokemon by Spore-Sub-Attacking holding Toxic Orb (re-Sporing as needed). Pikiwyn used that successfully before in Battle Castle. You can take a look here.

I need help stopping wish+protect pokemon. I've considered Infernape Taunt or Crobat Taunt, but I'm also considering Thunder Wave. Anyone have advice?

I agree. If you're going to lead with Ninjask, go with Sash, it's the best item there is. Or Lefties.

Hey guys, I have a question. Which one is will you choose? And which one is the best choice?

I'm not saying I'll use it, I just want to know. Garchomp that has Fire Fang? Or Garchomp that has Stone Edge? Which one?

Try Taunt Gyarados here. Gyarados is a very threatening sweeper, and access to Taunt, which prevents opponent from healing.

I have another question (I hope that this belongs in this section). What does LO mean?

In context: I'd keep Shaymin because it's your primary check to Offensive Suicune / LO Starmie, which would otherwise give you major problems.

Every time you use Protect or Detect consecutively the chance of failing increases. They both work off of the same counter so spamming them back and forth won't make you invincible. Although there is a very, very small chance that Protect/Detect will work every single time when used consecutively.

I have some Secret ID questions.

1. If I start a new game, what determines my SID?
2. If a person were to edit their SID, would that actually change the Shinies they can encounter in the wild?

Legitimacy is almost completely subjective in areas like this. It really depends on the people. Most, however, would not care.
