Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

Alright, gunna want this answered for Gen V as well, but I figured I'd ask here since this is the specific gen I'm using ATM.

When breeding, as far as passing down moves go, I didn't know level-up moves had to be known by both parents. I find that weird and inconvenient. But alas.
My question is, since TM and EGG moves can be bred directly through the male to the babies, if the move is a TM but can be learned through level (things like Ice Beam, EQ, ect), will it actually differentiate whether or not you taught it through level or TM, and if not, how is it determined as far as passing them down?
An example, Lapras learns Ice Beam through level-up, but also as a TM. If I just level up the male, will it pass Ice Beam down because it can also be a TM? If I teach it the Ice Beam TM, will the mom(assume it's a Lapras too) need to know it because it's a level-up move too? How does this work?
It pass Egg moves and the TM it learns. This is good only for little cup purposes. And just the father needs to know them.
Remember, male pass moves and female pass the species.

Where is the best PokeMart to go to for Wondercard abusing in DPPt?
I believe there is some Marts in DPPt with only 2 moving NPC's. If you can, i suggest that you abuse on HG/SS, especifically Cerulean City, since there is no moving NPC's there.

What is a good non-DDance set for Whiscash? I don't have access to HGSS so no DDance for me.

I don't know a good set for you. However, there are lots of helpful people on the gamefaqs.com boards who might be able to trade you a DD Whiscash. You can try the smogon boards too for that (please don't spam it though).

I'm not sure I understand. Does this mean, that with two lapras, if the maledude knows ice beam, no matter how he learned it, it can be passed down to the baby, because it's a TM move for lapras?

if the egg pokemon can learn by TM and the father knows the move then the egg will come out with the move, if that is what you are asking.

I really suck at breeding and i heard Action Replay leaves a trace on pokemon. So how on earth can i get pokemon with good IVs and the right natures easily?

Does RNG work for Soul Silver? Also, it is talking about things that are way beyond my knowledge. such as frames and second phases of who knows what lol. This RNG seems just as bad as an Action Replay, yet the RNG helps make legal/legitimate pokemon?

RNG works in all versions, and its not that hard to learn. most persons who dont use action replay will abuse RNG so there is nothing wrong with it either so if you dont got a AR and need a competitive team(legal mind you) then RNG is the easier way to go.

Yes, it works for SS. Not sure what you mean by "just as bad." It's basically just using the way the game works to get what you want legitimately. At first it'll seem beyond you, but stick with it and you'll be fine.

Hi,

Does anyone remember the 2 trainers(the route below Hearthome) in D/P/Pt that give lots of cash? So what happens here? For example. A Persian that is holding an Amulet Coin and uses Pay Day on them. How much will I get?

In Diamond it is the old man and old lady that are only a few steps from each other. With amulet coin each gives 16000. Dunno what Pay Day does on them.

Subseeding baton passing Celebi.

What should the last move be?

Psychic
Grass Knot
Giga Drain

Cannot decide between these 3.

How do i manipulate a pokemon game on a DS with a program on a computer. Do i need some extra materials here?

You will need to be playing a ROM, and probably use a programme called Pokesav. Google it, because you aren't supposed to talk about it here.

You will get double the coins for the Amulet Coin, each time you use it you will get 5 times the Persian's level on the ground, so each time will get you 10xLevel coins.

I'd go Psychic, so you can do something to Grass Types.

I'm leaning toward that as well. Cacturnes would demolish me utterly... but Giga Draining them wouldn't really aid me much anyway. I did like the thought of the only attack ALSO giving me back health. But yeah, Psychic. And I don't have to decide for sure until I transfer into B/W.

I think they mean to RNG since that was what their previous questions were about. If that's the case, you're looking for this thread.

I'm surprised I'm asking a question here, but Serebii doesn't actually say so:
In HG/SS, the swarm Pokemon that a pre-national dex, can you swarm them before beating the E4? Eg: I am trying to find a Yanma for my bug mono and have only got 3 badges and I'm not liking the usual 1% chance on route whatsitsname

I have read the RNG articles 2-3 in the past few weeks and still feel a little confused. Is there anyone that can give me a few pointers on how to start this what looks liking daunting task? I am using HG but also have Pt. I specifically wanted to try it with the Event Celebi and the dratini you acquire in dragons den. But I can work on whatever to get the hang of it if anyone can help. Thanks!

Pokesav

I have a question. I put all my codes in and everything, but when I go to the game, the pokemon that I want isn't there. I have all 6 slots filled, and I activated the party member account thing on pokesav, but my pokemon isn't there. I also pressed L+R too. Any help?

I'm not sure if the first one means it's a hack (think it does though), but the second one makes it pretty obvious I think. Also is it the Raikou you get from a live event or the wifi one? If it's the wifi one then the fateful encounter thing is also bad.
