Considering that Ice is the fastest way to KO a fully-evolved dragon type(no, Kingdra and Haxorus don't count), I'd hardly say its horrid.

Plus the only Poison type in Gen 4's OU iirc is Gengar, and he'd be honestly better off being Ghost/Fighting(even if it was for the Focus Miss STAB). How is he a poison-type, I dunno.

And exactly how many Ice types are OU again?

The water starter is imo the best since there are very few other Water pokemon (only the prianhia and the toed).

Conversly, If you choose Snivy as your starter you will receive Panpour as gift early in the game

Even with Blaziken's Speed Boost, I doubt Infernape will even be low OU; do you agree?

already been discussed, Infernape too powerful (perhaps) for UU, will probably stay OU or BL at the least

If there is such thing as a "worst type", it's probably Normal. It's not super-effective against anything and Ghost is immune, and it is only immune to Ghost, and is weak to Fighting. There are plenty of great Normal-types, but their greatness lies not within their type. All of the good Normal-types would be better off as another type, and so would Normal moves. In fact, if every Normal-type move were Dragon-type, they would all be better because Steel already resists Normal, anyway.

But because there are so many good Normal Pokémon and moves, it's hard to call the type bad. That is why I do not think there is such thing as the worst type. Worst type combinations, probably, but not worst type in general.

The only benefit of being Ice-type is Ice STAB (and I guess not taking Hail damage, but that's rarely going to matter very much). It's terrible defensively, resisting only itself and being weak to several common types, but offensively it gets good coverage and a 50% boost to damage is always useful.
It does copy boosts from stuff like unburden and huge power.
Unburden isn't a straight stat boost like Intimidate and Swords Dance, though, and it's contingent on losing an item, so I'm not sure whether it's copied. Regardless of whether it is or not, Choice Scarf is still the only common way of not being outsped by Ditto.

Does anyone know if the Global Union wi-fi matches really check to see if you're using movesets from Gen IV? Serebii.net was kind of brief about it. I want to use Entei in a Double Battle team, but Extremespeed is imperative and it's only available in a Gen IV event. Would they prevent those moves even though that Entei was MADE for Gen V?

EDIT: Ah, that makes much more sense. Don't know why I didn't read it that way. Thanks.

I thought that check was only on Pokémon where Isshu was their native region (in other words, Pokéshifted mons wouldn't have to worry).

Why is leading in gen 5 not effective anymore? I understand that you can see the team of your opponent, but can you see their moveset as well?

Assuming I'm not using any damage-dealing attacks, is Careful Mew just as good as Calm Mew, or should I go with Calm to reduce the rare confusion damage? I'm finally RNGing for Mew, and am wondering if I should reset if I get one that is fully-flawless but is Careful.

If you are reducing confusion damage you are better off with Calm and minimum Atk IVs.
Right, I'm just wondering if there's really much of a point in doing that. I have to RNG for Mew, and if you're not familiar with RNGing WonderCard Pokémon that have random natures, you have to hit your seed and simply get lucky with the nature. I'm trying to figure out if I should go ahead and take a Careful Mew if I get it, or if it would really be worth the trouble to reset and keep trying for a Calm one (which could take forever).

EDIT: Nevermind, I am now the proud owner of a flawless Calm Mew :)

Okay, I'm about to go get pokemon black (or white) but I'm still undecided about which version to get. Which version do you think I should get and why??
