5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I've written a little guide for breeding.
http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3446600

There may be a few errors, and it kind of builds the process from the ground up, but you should be able to figure out what's up. The things you should be most interested in are in the 3rd post, "Route 3 PIDRNG Primer."

Nice, glad I don't have to worry about writing a guide (you've done great)

Masuda Method (International Breeding)

regular shiny breeding isn't masuda method (masuda is 6/8192, reg is 1/8192)

At a quick glance that's all I could see, updating post 3 with link :D. Nice post #3446600 too

Sweet scent affects everything... so it will change the encounter slots, PIDs, and shinies.

Oh, I wasn't saying anything about Masuda method...I was just calling my method "Monsanto" method because Monsanto is a genetic modification company.

I forgot about Masuda Method all together, I should probably change the name to something that doesn't sound so similar!

In my attempt to be clever I was just confusing, maybe.

Edit: Updated it to be clearer.
I plan to add Masuda Method abuse later in the "Streamlining" section that I haven't done yet.

Awsome guid, gonna work on breeding now using that. Also as for question, should for the monsato method, a female shelder with 3 perfect natures, and a corsola with all but sp attk perfect work? The shelder is japanese (internetional) so this should also increase my shiny amount right?

That's correct.
I'm going to update the guide with some streamlining techniques.
In your case, since your Shellder is Japanese, select BW(International) instead of BW when you're generating the PID frames since it alters the PIDs of the Pokemon and gives you more shiny results.

You basically need to make sure that your shiny frame doesn't inherit any of the Shellder's non-perfect IVs.

I've since renamed what I cheekily termed the "Monsanto" method the "Genetic" method to avoid confusion with the Masuda Method (international breeding).

Ok ty. Also, when doing PID rng on the eggs using the generic method, do you still have to do stepds from method 1? Cus i wana get right into flawless shiny, since i already get pidrng. But dunno exactly where to start haha. So much info at once hehe. So for me as somebody who wana use generic method+pidrng, where to start?

If you already get PIDRNG, then you can jump straight into the 4th/5th posts.
You'll probably want to read over the 3rd post (PIDRNG Primer) because there are some things I recommend in there to make things more consistent (specifically callibrating your starting frame as the frame after you chatter once)

I decided to try and RNG a Zen Mode Darmanitan in the Desort Resort to be shiny. I was trying to find my starting PID frame but I cant because the sandstorm wont let me sweet scent. But was I actually wrong in doing that? To find the starting frame, should I be battling Darmanitan instead? It makes a bit more sense to me but I'm really not sure. Also, same question as one above - does honey do the same as sweet scent with regards to the PIDRNG?

Is it at all possible to RNG when playing on a pc using an emulator? I was watching the youtube guides and it was mentioned that it's not possible, but I wasn't able to confirm anywhere else.

I need some help with surfing "spots" rng. Trying to rng flawless corsola, but on multiple seeds, never actually hit the right seed. Atm i tried all on frame one, moved a small bit till moving water spot appeard, and went in to them, to always get pokemon with different IVs.

How to catch flawless moving water spot pokemon? (surf, not fish)

You could always catch a random Corsola and breed a flawless one through the third method in my breeding guide, and then use that for the final part for a shiny Cloyster.

But if i figure out how to fix this, then i won't run into the same problem in teh future with other pokemon :P But if I can't fix that, I'll do that yeah.

Difficulty of the different RNGs you can do in ascending difficulty:
Stationary Legends (Zekrom/Kyurem/Musketeers/Volcarona/Foongus/Amoongus)
Gift Pokemon (Fossils/Larvesta Egg/Magikarp/Dreamyard Elemental Monkey Trio)
Wondercard Pokemon (not required)
Wild Pokemon in areas without moving NPCs using Encounter Slots
ID/SID Abuse for Shiny Frames on a Target Seed (not required)
Wild Pokemon in areas with moving NPCs using Encounter Slots
Egg Abuse
Swirling Sand / Water Spot (Surf/Fish)
White Forest Abuse (Nonshiny and Synchronize Only)
Roamer IV and Nature Abuse (nonshiny)
C-Gear Abuse for Entralink Pokemon from the Dream World
Roamer IV/Nature/Shiny Abuse in Snow or Rain

It might not be worth the effort @_@

For some reason, my PID frame is not advancing, it seems. Using DS Lite, White version, RNG Breeding. I start with a PID Frame of 55, which gives me flawless stats, desired ability, but Quiet Nature, with no everstone compaitibilty. Next PID Frame, exactly what I want.
So I have the egg ready, and save inside the house. Load up the game, hit my seed. First, I try to advance the frame by 1 by clicking 'Summary' of Chatot, where it plays my recorded message. Hatch the egg, it's Quiet, my starting PID Frame.
Same thing, but this time instead of using Chatot I save once, wal koutside, get the egg, hatch, and it is again a Quiet Nature, (exact same stats/everything as above).

What am I doing wrong?

all of it is desided when you take the egg. SO next time, save BEFORE you get teh egg, check nature, reload, and press menu QUIK *cus of walking npcs) then chatter, and collect you egg as quik as poiblle. SO dont save/chatter after you got your egg, and it might be the same a few times, or a few after, since sometimes npcs + your PIDRNG. Just take a few tries.

Try saving standing in front of the old man, pulling up the menu as soon as you load the game, then chattering once, then grabbing the egg as soon as you get out of the menu screen, and using that as your starting frame.

That was a little hard for me to understand, but are you saying that I should chatter/save before I get the egg? That's what I've been doing.

Then also note that sometimes the npcs advance your nature frame randomlly. Thats, like said in post above me, you need to get to the menu as quiklly as posiblle when teh game starts, and claim egg as quiklly as you can when leaving menu. this might take a few tries, and maybe try advancing one frame more, as your starting frame might be one earlier. Since nps move random, it's simplly trying a few times.

Tesseraction, your guide is great. Love the "Genetic Method". Just used it to hatch this:

@Tesseraction, for a male corsola with just flawless IVs (except Sp. attk) won't method 1 be better? Don't need ability or nature, just gender so.

Also can't wait to test the genetic shiny method with my shelder! Hopefully I can pull it of today.
