WOOO that looks great! I see alot of sprites that could use a revamp and we still have quite a few empty spaces! I'm willing to revamp and make new, but I really could use a lot of help from you! so come on and sprite along with me everyone! :D

That's the spirit! My priority as of now is to fill in these empty spaces. Once that is done I think i can turn this project back over to Jon for him to walk you guys through QC and any and all revamps that need to be done (and there are quite a few). So lets try and knock out these empty slots!

@Doran - If you have revamps you want to do then feel free. My priority is new sprites in these gray boxes but if you have a great idea for redoing something we have better then thats great. We want that sort of stuff to happen eventually and you are awesome when you are inspired so do what you feel is best.

Also am currently working on a Metal Armadillo concept. Currently in the shading phase, and should hopefully be done by tomorrow.

I also posted a Atomic Hyena Adult sprite on the last page, but never got any comments on it. Not sure if that means you guys don't want it, but here's the updated version with a more well-shaded tongue tail.

Still not sure if I'm quite happy with the tail's shading but I can always mess with it more if need be.

I'll also call the Ibex for Revamping, whenever I get around to it. +)

Unfortunately neither of these sprites really meet my standards of quality; Jon may have accepted them but he was a bit lenient. I can barely tell what is happening on the bull and the "hyena" does not resemble any animal and therefore does not fit the theme of our project. Thanks for trying!

I like it! Just bring that forward arm down so its kind of in the same pose as the far arm and I think it will be good to go. For the juvenile I would go with a quadruped form that has a more traditional armadillo appearance.

Kind of the same as above. Get me a juvenile form that looks more like a gorilla and you have a spot.

Hey everyone! Jon has been talking to Legal and I think we have some exciting news! While we cannot directly COPY these concepts there is nothing, legally, to restrict us from using them as reference for our own creatures. Some of these could really help us improve some of our own similar concepts and other would be great inspiration for others. Here are the ones he gave you guys to look at before. I will pull out some of the others Jon originally collected if I think they will help.

Metal Anteater?

Metal Ankylosaur (the tortoises we have are jpgs and the original artists computer crashed and they lost the original file. These would replace those)

Shadow Tarsier/Lemur (I saw this concept and loved it. Maybe could replace our current tarsiers?)

Solar Peacock (ditto above)

Atomic Hyena (these were original drawn as ice but we had wanted an atomic hyena so I thought these could fit there. The adult should also have spots and not stripes)

Earth Sauropod

Electric Porcupine

These are just concepts, the current apparent typing or really anything about them is subject to change.


EDIT: ALSO! We still need Overworld sprites completed for the majority of our creatures (check the OP for needed sprites) so for those of you who do not have time to work on full sprites then try whipping up a couple of OW sprites instead!

I think you may have to resprite the arm. The arm in the back looks a lot bigger and is farther away so that is weird.

The new outline looks good!

These are cool! At this point I think we are happier with the owls than with the peacocks. These could probably go there, I will take a look at the encyclopedia and figure out what to do. Thanks!

Honestly Doran, and I never thought I would have to say this, but... I'm not a huge fan. I really think your original is better. Perhaps the current adult could use some work though...

May I also leave a comment? It's hard to distinguish the frontmost (left) arm apart from that cone shape thing right underneath it (is it a foot?) All this time I thought that the left arm was part of the body and the cone was it's actual arm.

Of course you can make comments! In fact I prefer it that way! This project is as much yours as it is ours! I may get the final say but community input only makes the end results better. Thats the whole reason we are here!

No offense to the head guy, but they're the ones that are creating the sprite and really know the ins and outs of the pixel drawing. For those who play Mojang's Minecraft you might be interested to know that we are currently developing a texture pack using our tiles and creatures to match this game. The pack is slated to be released on our website around the same time as we launch the game!

@Energy Storm - I have put your lamprey in Metal for now just because I am not certain where I want to put it. It may actually end up replacing the adult Shadow Lamprey/Bat as it is a similar concept.

I really like this aXl! There are some minor things we might tweak but nothing you need to worry about! Looking forward to seeing the sprites you mentioned above!

EDIT: One thing though. I would really prefer to fill in these blanks before we do a ton of redesign of our current stuff, just so I can hand this back to Jon for management and he can walk you guys through that. So finish the Ibex infant but leave the Thylacine for now. I would really like to see you take another crack at your Earth Bull juvenile.

Also I agree that the lamprey is a great candidate for the atomic type but right now we have similar atomic types (and a lot of aquatic creatures oddly in there too) so we may make some tweaks and use it somewhere else.
