Access Smogon from your school?

Well, my school has literally no restrictions. I think they just cant figure it out. they also let us bring laptops in, so I should be able to play on PO, but for some reason all the servers aren;t there, so I cant access them for some reason. Same with any irc chat outside of mibbit.

I'm posting from school at this very moment. Last period on Friday. Class discussion on economics or some shit I don't care about. Gonna be fucked if my teacher asks a question.

Server block. You can run PO but can't access any game servers. Same for any related programs.

So thats where SDS got his old avi from.

Anyways, anyone know how to bypass a server block, since most people here seem to be good at doing things they aren't supposed to (starting with playing pokemon)

I can get on smogon in school, I go on all the time. I can also open PO when I bring it in on my pendrive / flashdrive, but it won't connect since the administrator blocks connections from it. Anyway to bypass this would be greatly appreciated...

Man, all your schools are lame, at ours, we've gotten N64 emulators to work by putting them on the school network and some other stuff, gotten Firefox on the network, gotten around blocks by unplugging the lan cables at the right times, and obtained the admin password.

Get on our level.

Looks like your school has lame security. One admin password? For all the computers?

(Most schools allow programs to be run straight from portable drives, it's server access that's restricted.)

1 out of 10 dudes from my college recognizes the smogon page and is like 'lol i didnt realize you were into competitive pokemon'

'im not'

'o'

*awkward silence*

I'm at university, with a fibre optic fast as fuck connection, no content restrictions or bandwith limits at all. Booyakasha.

I do however, private browse on smogon since I don't want people seeing that I go on pokemon websites.

We aren't allow to use computers at school, but I will add however, that they take George Orwell's 1984 as a handbook for their video surveillance. Yeah, our school's gone Orwellian.

I've never tried accessing Smogon from my school, so I don't know if it's blocked. In my school's library all internet activity is monitored, but that's nothing encryption can't fix. All the computers at my school have the same admin password, and one of my friends has it, but he doesn't abuse it.

I haven't tried. They think any "non-learning" website has porn, so it's probably banned. But, anyone can hack into it. They have really shitty passwords.

I think one guy's been working on a project called Rasberry Pi, and he made a 25 $ computer that's the size of a USB Stick. It runs Ubuntu 9.2 and all it needs to work is a USB hub for the mouse and keyboard and a monitor. Pretty cool I think.

Link.

I'm a teacher. And yes, I access Smogon in school. In fact, I play Pokemon in simulators on the school computers. I take it as one of the perks of the job.
