7 wins in a row for the sox, and they picked up a game on both the yankees and the rays tonight. wheeeeee

What a picture. What a slide. That was an awesome game to watch as a Sox fan. They gave full effort on every play, even when they were already up by 10. Even their back-up bullpen pitchers were chasing down ground balls and making great plays. The only bad part about that game was watching Adrian Gonzalez run the bases.

After a 2-10 start, the Red Sox are 22-10. Just 1/2 game behind the Rays for the division lead. I knew they'd come back but the fact that it's happened this fast has blown my mind. Plus it makes my Sox vs Phillies world series prediction look so much better than it did a month ago.

My two teams are the Yankees and Phillies. Gosh the worst world series to watch for me truly. Liking both teams for different reasons. yanks and tampa are tied for first with sox behind a half game. The AL East is coming out very good this year.

Did anyone here think that Cruz and Hamilton would BOTH homer in their returns on the same date? Knowing the absurdity of baseball stats, there's probably a stat out there like this is the first time since 1947 that two teammates came back from the DL on the same game and both went yard.

Also, you really went out on a limb predicting the Red Sox/Phillies series, didn't ya?

Great news for sox fans, dice-k might have season ending tommy john surgery! This is right as wake goes 7 innings giving up 3(?) hits 0 runs. I hope they give the spot to him, seeing as i want him to get to 200 wins/the sox's all time lead in wins (193). That'll allow him to end his career on a high note at least.

You really think Wakefield is thinking of ending his career any time soon? With how effective he can be at times, I'd think he'd pull a Jamie Moyer and play well into his late 40's. Plus the Knuckleball puts zero stress on his arm. He could probably pitch on 3 days rest if he had to.

By end of his career i meant "I'll stick around for a few more years until the Red Sox finally tell me to go." I think you're dead right, he won't leave on his on volition. I can't see him going to another team though.

He picked a terrible time to have a career-worst slump. I'd be surprised if he was anywhere else but St. Louis next year.

Jose Bautista is a 30 year old career journeyman who has made a few alterations to his swing and is profiting in a big way. Nowhere close is he to Pujols, who was mashing the ball ever since he was brought up.

He was intentionally walked with first base full with no-one out and Toronto down by one against Joe Maddon's Rays.

*grumble*muthafucka*grumble*

13/14 AL teams are >.450...completely fucking ridiculous. I have never seen any conference in any sport so up in the air with nearly 1/3rd of a season gone.

attention all non pookars and jackals: check your goddamn fantasy teams every now and then, you miserable sacks of shit

Hey aamto, I check mine/I'm currently third. Having five players get DLed (good ones at that) in 2 weeks doesn't really help though :(

Heh I was just about to say! I probably would have chased HanRam or TT if I was present for the draft so kinda glad that Reyes fell to me. It's taken a lot of waiver wiring on my part though with the pitching staff to make my team better. Small aside, as a Mets fan who has no doubt probably heard about their desire to trade Reyes, how do you think they should go about handling him? Find a way to keep him given his awesome form? Or use that said form as excellent trade bait to rebuild from the ground up?

Clearly you missed the last month of the NHL season in the Western Conference. 11 teams fighting over7 playoff spots. Or something like that.
