5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

NPCs only affect the PIDRNG, which determines nature, gender, shininess, ability, etc. Not IVs.

Are you asking if that's possible? It's perfectly possible to get a non-frame 1 spread, do your advances, and find where you ended up, as long as there's no NPCs, and you take the same path every time.
 
That's good to know. As I don't care about gender (100% male), shiny, or ability (always Sand Force) and I have a synchronizer for nature anyway.

There will be the one NPC.

Yeah, if you've battled them (as stated in your previous post), they shouldn't be moving. At which point you'll be ready to go. You'll have issues finding your starting frame if they keep moving, though.

i just rng'ed my first pokemon! timid 31/30/31/31/31/31 reshiram.

but because my ar is incompatible with 5th gen, i cannot duplicate it, and i now have no masterballs. datel - you suck!

... but yay!!!

thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way. i can finally continue on with the game after being stuck at n's castle trying to figure out how to rng for the past month.
 
Got Landorus in two tries. (50% odds, how appropriate.)

The first reasonable perfect frame was on frame 27, so I had to use a party of two Pokémon. Problem is, with Synchroboy being one and HM Slave the other, that didn't leave any room for my Lv. 85 False Swipe Scyther. (Once Landorus appears, you can go back and put T&T away if you want.) So I fired up my old Japanese Black and grabbed the Master Ball from there, haha. Tornadus and Thundurus are both in Master Balls so it fits, at least. And if I want another one, I just need to keep trading up my ID bank from the last two gens. Not that I should need one; Landorus completes my perfect legendary collection from Black and White (includes Victini, does not include event legends obviously). T&T have perfect HP Ice, everyone else is 31s as far as the eye can see. Tornadus was caught January 2012 and Landorus July 2012, but everyone else was either May or June 2011 which is nice.

I did find a frame 1 Landorus on my Black game... it's January 2014, though. But if I ever need another one for some reason, I'll know where to go to get it.

Congratulations, just out of curiosity. What AR do you? The first one? or ARDSi?

Thank you very much! I wasnt missing my frame but it seems that when you use an everstone the DW ability spread changes, so after I chose the everstone nature, everything went as expected.

Bleh, I don't get this at all.

So, I'm abusing on an emulator. My target PID frame is 142. I have a save state at PID frame 137. I advance using Chatot's, I look at their summaries 5 times, it gives me PID frame 140. When I advance 6 times, it gives me 141, after advancing it 7 times it gives me frame 144. Skipping over my shiny frame. Multiple seeds have done this, and I don't get why it's happening.

I too faced this last time when I was doing my Smeargle. :(
I just reloaded the SS and it worked!

Try resaving your game through the Save function at the Day Care man, it will give you a different Shifted Starting Frame, and you may be able to hit it then.

Sorry, forgot to mention it's wild Pokes. I'm also able to view the PID at the moment the battle is initiated so there is no real guess work or calibration. I can see it advancing. Mine is just choosing to skip over the shiny frame, but no other frame.

Okay, try 6 chatots and 1 Save, maybe that'll work.
 
Hi, I'm on PPRNG on mac. Can someone tell me what the number under the little star stands for in the standard seed searcher? There's also sometimes a "Y" under the row with an "S..". I can't find a way to expand these labels so I have no idea what they mean. thank ou
 
That's your shiny frame. If you were to advance the PIDRNG to that specific frame, it would be shiny.

As for the S, that sounds like "Sync". This tells you whether or not that frame can be synced. Basically if you can pass on your Synchronizer's nature or not.

Thank you so much. I'm very new to this and I'm having tons of trouble. I've only gotten one Pokémon right so far and I'm beginning to think it was a fluke..

Well, if I'm trying to catch an Adamant Shiny Lillipup, how would I set up my standard seed searcher? Or is that too broad of a question?
 
Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with RNG Perameters here. Something goes wrong every time I try to search for my seed. Would there be anything that I'm doing wrong, or do I need to install a special software?

One of your text boxes is just typed in wrong. I couldn't really tell you which, but that's what it means.
 
It would be easier if you posted a screen shot of what your RNG reporter window looks like right now so we can help you out.

Some of the parameters area is supposed to be automatically filled for the most part, the other stuff you have to fill though. But yeah, ss please.

They can be touchy.
xtr3m3 is right, a screenshot of the entire parameter window would be helpful. Also, the text in the details box might help us figure out exactly which one is the problem if it's not obvious from the screenshot.

Your MAC address is a problem. A MAC is made of hexadecimals only, U and G cannot be in there. Check the first post again to see how to get it.
