Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Lol xD I don't think I have the patience to do that. I'll just use Blocks, but Baoba is not calling and it's been a while. .-.

Also, for HGSS starters, when should I save? Before I talk to Elm, or before I pick my starter?

Before picking the starter. But it's going to be hard to keep track of frame advancements.

Argh, this shiny breeding is driving me nuts. Using my 34226 ID and 4998 SID, I found a shiny seed I wanted - B20F027B. That seed is supposed to generate a shiny, calm, ability 1 male. Now when I enter that seed into the main RNG Reporter window, I find that I need to do 8 Happiness Checker taps and 5 Coin Flips (in addition to the 10 to verify my seed). When I start up my game to hit my seed, I have the coin flip app open. That makes it easier to check to see if I hit my seed. If I have hit my seed, I do the extra 5 flips of the coin. I then change to the Happiness Checker and tap the screen 8 times (so the pokemon all jump 8 times). I then switch out of the Happiness Checker and deposit the parents into the Day Care. When the egg hatches, I keep getting a non-shiny mild female with ability 0. From what I can see, that looks like the same poke on frame 106 on the reporter's main screen.

What's the deal? Am I doing something wrong here? This whole process is driving me nuts. Would I be better off breeding for a shiny by simply starting the game and catching a 50+ level poke to verify my seed? I'm just worried that I will not find the combination of ability and nature I want using that method.

Oh dang :(

That seems like too much of a hassle. The wind advances the frame too? And there's no way to verify my seed... so I don't think I'll attempt it xD

Princess of Johto: Yeah, pretty much if you wanna abuse starters the best way would be to do it on an emulator where you can tell the frame. It's been so long, but each starters have their own frame advancements so if you know that, you could simply pick a spread with a low enough frame so that maybe you can just run straight into the lab with no frame advancements happening other than picking the starters up. Riski was the only one methinks who did that and it worked for her :)

Wait, so if I want to abuse for a Shiny Jolly Totodile (I know that Jolly isn't really useful without DD, but w/e), and I found a seed that has a frame of 11 (I doubt it, though) and abused my ID/SID for it, could I just save in the lab and take the Totodile after I hit my seed?

I guess that would make it way easier, but still... not being able to verify your seed sucks. I might try it, though :P

Edit: Found a nice seed (A40D1A59). It's at frame 15 for Method 1, so would I just wait for the NPCs to move 4 times? And, does the wind advance at all?

You won't be able to see the 4 advancements.
As there are times were the RNG is called and it tells the NPC to not move, yet it still advances. So, again. Guess work.

Wind doesn't advance, dunno why he said it did. Since 5th gen came out, people assume too much about 4th gen abuse based upon 5th gen's rng. xD! 4th gen is a bit simpler, outside of a delay.

Oh, I see. So does that mean that sometimes when the NPC does move, the frame doesn't advance? Or does and does an NPC moving always advance the frame?

I think I can do it. It'll just require lots of patience :P

I just got my soulsilver retail cart, and I'm gonna ID/SID abuse. Quick question: which program can I use to hit the high delay?

After you release her into the wild, her IV's and PID stay the same until you kill her and respawn her.
So no matter how long it takes you to catch her, she will still be whatever spread you RNG'd her to have.

Is there a quick way to run into her? I was able to run into Thundurus quite easily because of the rain but as far as I remember there isn't such a notification for the other roamers. How would this work for the legendary birds. Don't I release all 3 at once? Would all 3 have the same spread?

Use the marking map app for the poketch to find where the roamers are, unfortuneately it won't tell you which is which so it's best if you only have one roaming at a time.
And yes you release all the birds at once, this link has all the info you need for them.

Now then, can someone tell me if the date rolling over affects the RNG on Platinum?

OK thanks. I have one last question. I've never RNGed with an AR in so I'm not exactly sure where I should be starting the game. Does "starting the game" include hitting a to select the AR, loading all the codes and then entering the game with these codes? If yes then this would give me a really high minimum delay. Any suggestions from those who have used ARs?

Natures of chained shinies are dependent on IDs/SIDs, so syncs don't do anything.

Whatever seed you use for Method J/K/1 is applicable to Chained shinies, however you have to do a little tweaking in getting a new seed to shoot for a higher frame because the seed you may have now could probably have a low current frame.

In a nutshell, same spread, different seed using a website WZ posted some odd pages back. I asked the same thing a week ago.
I noticed when trying to use a synch. It jumps to a random spread, but one listed under the list.

Yeah, I know the other part, but how do I search for these spread to be exact the nature I want? Like if I RNG abused my ID SID to be Adamant, then shouldn't the seed give me Adamant under chained shiny? (Difference is the frame) However, this isn't the case as it ends up giving me another nature besides Adamant.

EDIT: I found a way (sort of), but isn't there a better way than c+p the seeds time finder generates over and over again under chained shiny?

I'm not sure that you can other than doing trial and error with ID/SIDs you get, which is what I did. I specifically wanted to abuse with a certain spread too however the search was just tedious and irritating so I "abused" solely for the chained shiny rather than a Method 1/J/K.

You might wanna ask AlexShiny though, maybe he knows something about it.

Edit: While I'm here, does anyone know if the tiles for Feebas are set for each day?

For example on Jan 1, 2011 it's on 6 tiles, then Jan 2 comes around, then I switch back to Jan 1. Does it reset or is it fixed per date?

When trying to RNG Giratina in Platinum for some reason it seems that I'm hitting my seed 9 seconds too early. I've never had this problem in SS but this is the first time I'm trying to RNG with an AR in my DS. What could be causing this?

It is likely you're not that far off, you just have a result with the same sequence. Only use +/- 2 secs and see what happens.

When using an AR with original cart, when you press "Ok" at "Boot game with codes" you are in fact hitting "Continue" if you load your game without the AR. I know this isn't the perfect explanation but hope you understand.

When using your EonTimer what should I be hitting at the end of each timer if I'm using an AR DSi?

EDIT: By "what should I be hitting" I mean when should I hit "Boot AR with codes" and etc. Should I preload my codes (I'm only using 100% catch right now) or load it before I press boot?

When the eontimer reaches 0 for the first time you should be clicking "ok" at "boot game with codes" and when the eontimer reaches 0 for the time you should be clicking "Continue" at your game screen (which has the option of new game below it).

Yeah that's what I thought. Do I need to preload my codes or choose the codes every time I put the AR in? Or does it not make any difference.

If you want to use codes which are different from those you have already selected, then it is necessary to save your codes once before you try to hit your delay because if you make ANY change to your codes (eg: unselecting and selecting again) then it will try to save your change and that will mess with your delay.

PS: I found this out today that even unselecting then selecting can be a problem. -.- Anyways, good luck. I'm just so happy right now because I finally abused my ID/SID on the SS cart I got today! xD

Nice! Yeah I just abused my ID/SID on Plat and Diamond 2 days ago but this is the first time I tried using an AR. I was doing everything right only I put too many +-seconds and +-delay. I was actually on the right second and within like 10 delay.

Anyone who can help me with abusing starters in Platinum? Would there be any way I can check if I got the right delay at this point?
