Word up.I'd call my style a mixed bag of every other artist I've ever admired. If there was an artist (or even just a single piece of art in particular) that I really enjoyed, I'd take a good look and decide what I liked about it most. Then I'd try to imitate whatever I liked with the next drawing I did, while adding other techniques and flavors that I'd found in the past. This all compounded into what I do today: other people's influence mutating into something all my own. Even now I get inspired and completely change up how I do things.
everybody should go read this, too
sorry, but i immediately thought thisthis said:People call me Nasty or NJ. I live in the little city of Topeka, Kansas.
I will settle for being the second to say congrats, I think that's some pretty nice work.
Love the sense of character in each of those pieces, but I especially love those thick/colored extra-outline elements in the Chansey/Jellicent. I was a big fan of these outlines when I last saw you using them (I guess it's been a while now though, looking a few pages back) because they remind me of the trapping outlines you see in print design.
What I think is really cool is the idea of using these outlines for other things, like you have going on with that gangsta chansey. I'm really excited to steal this idea and mess around with it.
So cool :)
(although come on fix your letter spacing already ;_;)
sorry, but i immediately thought this
a consolation would be the fact that i actually did check it out!
