The beginners section

Hello community of Smogon this is my pitch for what i believe to be a very great idea which will help new users more easily adjust to a very unique forum that is Smogon University. My idea is a beginners thread which will include things such as General rules "Not specific forum to forum rules" just little things that need to be understood also we can include guides to the different forums, that might include moving some of the guides already made to the new section but it will be for the betterment of the community also maybe a few tips for where they should start posting so that they could be an adversary to the site and not be just roaming from topic to topic making rogue posts.

^I have read all of those topics but they have not gone into detail and were very lackluster to say the least, my idea is way more appealing than the other threads which were written with poor grammar and and had 0 thought actually put into the topic itself, I would like you to reconsider before declining this idea because i believe it would help the community immensely.

I don't see how it would help the community. Sure, in theory, it seems like a great idea, but Everything you mentioned that would be in the thread are already on the forum and can easily be found with a bit of searching. It's easy to see what each forum is about with some simple lurking, and the rules are in an easy to see anouncement. Also, people who start on the forum will find which forums they want to post in with time.

Give me about 10 minutes, I'll find the first time the idea came up.
(note, i can't see deleted threads)

...Do all noobs know how to lurk, however?

Most will when they get told by the general public and the older, more respected users. Sure, there'll be the few that don't listen and go on retarded rants, but those people wouldn't listen to even a topic telling all this.

what is the point of a beginners forum other than to be "lol im new 2 smgon!!!!" "haha lol me too xD"

all somebody needs to do is read the rules of the forum and take maybe an hour or two to get the "feel" of how people operate to be a fine poster

edit: each forum has a name and a description of what it is, it isn't that hard to see where you would want to go
