I'm trying to get better, but with an average FPS of 10 it's hard to do. I'm at +39 wins at the moment, and once I hit 50 I might start looking into *gulp* ranked. I can play any role so I guess that's a plus side, the only thing currently holding me back (besides this awful computer) is my lack of rune pages.

1. you can only play ranked when you get to level 30
2. you should only buy runes once you get to level 20
3. please get a better computer before you try to play well at the game, more often than not you're going to be a detriment to your team and also making 9 other people wait for you to complete the loading screen is probably The most inconsiderate things you can do in LoL
That's a bit of an exaggeration there, Yuggles. There are much worse things one can do in LoL. And getting a better computer might not be something Probably can currently do. While I would say that playing ranked matches with a low fps might make his teammates angry, other matches are fine, and other people aren't too annoyed once you explain.
@Probably: my decrepit laptop gets a max of 11 fps, but I'm usually fighting with 4 or 5. And my game lags to the point of freezing for a good 10 seconds at times. Comps that can run the game well make the whole game sooo different though; played on my friend's laptop a couple of days ago, and he get ~60 fps. Everything was so smooth, and I was able to troll with ap Yi to get Kennen, Cassiopeia, and some other rando for a triple kill, something that's impossible on my laptop (because it'd freeze then).
On a different note, is Archangel's Staff good for Zilean? I just bought him, and have played a few games with him. I figure since he spams his w all day long, and just chains spells, that the Staff should be useful.

How ghetto is your computer? Are you running on the absolute lowest quality, because I can still get 24 fps usually on my shit comp. loL really isn't a hard game to run, just close like all background programs and crank down the settings. it doesn't look that bad

Well, I guess I worded that wrong. I have 39 more wins than losses. I have around 456 wins on my main account, 150 on my smurf. I got runes, I just need pages... And the only thing my computer really stops me from doing is pulling off stunts that take precision and sometimes I can miss about 20 minions in 10 minutes from laggy health bars.
Played a game where very first 2 minutes, Jax walks to blue, sits there as noc kills it, then steals the gold and exp from all minions, along with the actual blue buff, then proceeded to leap strike into Taric and Graves, who bursted him down immediately, giving Graves blue buff...How can people be this bad?
Hahaha, I love LoL, but I am sooo bad at it. I don't play competitively at all, just some random matches for kicks. But god am I bad. I always play as Nasus. I really like Nasus, since he's tanky but can do damage, and since I solo top, I don't need to really worry about supporting team mates too much.
Does anyone have like, a general "how to play LoL" guide? Cuz what I really need to learn is fundamentals; when to push, when to tower hug, when to gank, etc. I dunno. I just need general tips, I guess.

@gene: really? I mean, the Tear seems nice, since at a certain point, I almost never have to worry about being short on mana, nor do I need the blue buff, once I get the Tear. And I usually just go from Tear to Staff, usually helping to put my total mana at around 3000+ by lvl 18, putting me at a reasonable +135 ap. I usually don't go the carry route, so I generally have RoA, Archangel's, and either cdr Boots or tenacity Boots as a core. After that, well, I usually can't even get the important stuff...

Requiring Tear of the Goddess is pretty detrimental to any champion, unless they actually benefit directly from having extra mana (Blitz, Ryze). No one needs 1000 extra mana, and the extra AP is so small that most people upgrade to Archangel dead last. In effect, you are paying 900 gold to START your item build (and unlike Philo, it doesn't pay for itself in the long run).

unless you are blitz or ryze or singed (lol) tear does not benefit your lane power or ability to fight people very well. tear costs about 900, i'd rather buy boots and a dorans ring tbh
people who buy tear on anybody that's not blitz or ryze with simply cannot manage their mana, plain and simple. i cry every time i see archangel's karthus
