Yeah, also fought that said Daniel this day when he had like 2057 points so I believe it's him. I also believe that guy to be Daniel Oakes aka danielacorn on various VGC servers. I'm pretty sure because of his style of battling and his behavior when he gets beaten on both PO and on this here tournament. Of course, if that Daniel isn't the Daniel I know the following just goes to whoever this guy is because sincerely, I don't care about him.
Daniel, if you even bother reading this:
Please, please, prettyplease don't think winning this charade will get you respect as a VGC battler when all you're able to do is abusing the system and disconnecting if you're about to lose.
Well, needed to get this off my chest.
I have stopped playing now, my final rating being 1939. Yay for year of beginning of WWII rating
My team:
Thundurus @ Charti Berry
Bulky EV spread (BlueCookies's spread with minor changes)
- Thunderbolt
- HP Ice
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
Amoonguss @ Coba Berry
Again some bulky EV spread with like 52 speed on it too
- Giga Drain
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Protect
Tornadus @ Flying Gem
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe, jolly
- Acrobatics
- Tailwind
- Taunt
- Protect
Terrakion @ Chople Berry
212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Speed, adamant
- Rock Slide
- Sacred Sword
- Quick Attack
- Protect
Jellicent @ Water Gem
4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Speed, modest
- Water Spout
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Protect
Hydreigon @ Dark Gem
uh I think it was 140 HP / 252 SpAtk / 116 Speed, modest
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Protect
Explanations:
Tailwind with Terrakion / Tornadus / Jellicent / Hydreigon was just the foolproof way to roll all over noobs or even (half-)decent players for that matter. I usually pick those 4 against opposing Tailwind teams but I have also used Amoonguss or Thundurus if the opposing team of 6 gave the opportunity to board these into my team. Against Tailwind I usually let them set up and proceed to induce my own Tailwind 2 or 3 turns after they induced theirs. There's really not that much strategy behind it other than to just damage rushing them and playing intelligently.
Then there's good teams where Tailwind isn't an option and this is where Amoonguss and Thundurus came in really handy as utility Pokémon against those players. Winning plans were improvised most of the time which is why basically the whole team consists of 6 MVPs.
Heavy Trick Room is usually my easiest match up with me just picking Amoonguss + Hydreigon and Jellicent + Tornadus in the back. I think the majority of you knows how this works out, if not, just ask for it and I can edit this post if you're interested in it.
