By sequel we mean a continuation of the story. From what I understand GS were pretty much just a remake or different version of the story, not a continuation.
GS is explicitly set three years after. Red is champion. Team Rocket has been defeated by none other than Red, which is why their entire mission throughout GS is to get themselves back together. Blue has taken the place of Giovanni as Gym Leader because of the fact that people found out he's the head of Team Rocket, and has gone into hiding. Please explain how this is not a sequel...

Genesect was brought back to life by Team Plasma. N refused to work on the project anymore because it would be tampering with Pokemon, but a Team Plasma scientist (think his name's Dudley) decided to go against N's orders, working at the P2 Laboratory to bring Genesect back from its' fossil. In addition, they messed with its' typing and gave it a cannon, so I would assume that Genesect was pure Bug before Team Plasma screwed around with it. As for when the event is coming out, I have no idea.

assuming genesect was a fossil, it would be bug/rock, all fossils have part rock

Something I'm wondering about:

The official site describes these games as "an entirely new adventure". While I'm sure they used this phrase when promoting B/W and D/P, did they use this same phrase when promoting HG/SS or Platinum?

I stand corrected. But GS is the only one.

If they have all the champions, they should have a postgame 8-person tournament:
Red-Blue-Steven-Lance-Cynthia-Wallace-Alder-(You the main character)
And the winner would be the champion of all champions.

EDIT: All the champions have lvl 100 pokes...

Entirely new adventure refers to the fact that this is a sequel, so the story mode is changing (Huge shock I know (Sarcasm))

*Facepalms* It has a 2 in it implying sequels for crying out loud. Plus the fact that they're 2 and right after the "Cliffhanger" ending of Black and White original it's kinda dang obvious.

I know that a sequel is implied, but it seems like the game is being rushed so I wasn't sure.

Ghetsis can't go after the player, Looker would be on him before he could do anything. And he can't hack into the PC boxes, as far as we know.

Bulbapedia about N's Castle said:
A room on the third floor contains a PC that will allow the player to rearrange the party as well. In the same room, scientists mention that now, they could infiltrate the Pokémon Storage System to even release the Pokémon from Trainers' PC Boxes.

Makes me wonder. Just a little bit.

It'd be cool if this was a direct sequel and if they use the same character, that we could connect to black/white and use our teams from that game (scaled down to a not that high level). That'd probably make the game a cakewalk though.

I look forward to the inevitable visit to Kanto that's going to ensue in this game.

Oh, wait, no I don't. But heaven forfend we go a gen without it.

Kyurem will most likely escape giant chasm and go on a rampage since it lacks truth or ideals. This might alert Plasma to it's presence, so they capture him and try and fuse him with Z and R from... some... odd reason. (the new bad guy's goals don't make sence. We should go back to Rocket who just tried to take over the world)

Team Plasma's goals are to take over the world, I thought it was blatantly obvious. They were under the guise of trying to protect Pokemon from humans and used N's compassion as a weakness to manipulate him. Their entire goal was to take away all of the Pokemon from people and then rule with outright power over them. I don't know why people give the Team Rocket plot so much praise when this has more parallels to power struggles in the modern world and deals with a lot more ambiguous morality. By far a better team and these games have even more potential than the ones before it.

I don't get why everyone keeps stating that they'll be fusions, when we already found the placeholder data for just Kyurem, they're being called "Black Kyurem" and "White Kyurem" by the official guys... you know, I think that's one of the worst part about the designs, it's way too unclear as to what the fuck it really is. That's one of the biggest reasons I hate them so much. Like, with Shaymin, how they changed the overall shape but kept most of the features, we were all like "oh sweet it's Shaymin," and that was a good design. But now they come out with this shit and it's like "...wtf is that?" Poor choice on your part, Frame Geak, poor choice.

Well I think they're calling them that because you'll find Black Kyurem in Black 2 and White Kyurem in White 2. It's probably plot-related and they don't want to divulge any further. That said, they are very weird, I agree. It's a near 50/50 split between questioning whether it's Zekrom or Kyurem, or Reshiram or Kyurem. Obviously we'll find out later.

I don't know if this has already been said, but Kyurem did NOT come from the dragon that Zekrom and Reshiram came from. Kyurem is a mysterious pokemon, which, if you're willing to make some assumptions, crash landed in Unova on the north-eastern side near Lacunosa town. Kyurem then proceeded to eat the residents on Lacunosa town until they became afraid to leave their houses at night.

Kyurem is only currently connected to Zekrom and Reshiram as of B/W1 in that it is a Unova legendary Dragon type with an elemental STAB typing.

Given that Kyurem has been eating people, it's possible that he tried to eat Zekrom / Reshiram and ended up like... That.
The Unova Tao Trio myth is actually something along the ines of Kyurem being the original dragon, became so powerful that Reshiram/Zekrom split from Kyurem. The result of that was Kyurem releasing an immense amount of power, which partially froze him to how we know him today.
It is very possible that some of this is mixed up, this is really the speculation from bulbapedia. However, it is something that is very well researched, and it seems to fit all the points.

I hope they add more character to the game. There are so many possibilities that they just don't explore, it's really a shame. Just look at Pokemon Naranja by Sergei. That's the kind of stuff they should add to bring more life to the game.

Just wondering... who's still planning on importing one (or both) of these games now that we know they will be released in America/Europe this fall?

in the game they said that kyurem came to earth in a meteor .so how can it be part of the original dragon that reshiram and zekrom came.i think team plasma or who ever trying to fusion them some way

Maybe the original dragon came on a meteor.

Also, I'm pretty sure fusions have happened before
226.gif

Actually, that's not a fusion, it's two different pokemon. There have been images of Mantine without Remoraid, and the dex even says Remoraid just rides along Mantine's wings like a remora rides a shark.

Also, Ondore, that was fuckin' hilarious.

@Ondore: That's actually true. So far every generation, we've been able to visit Kanto, though considering Gen V has been breaking so many trends, I don't know if that will be kept...
