The Legend of Korra (Spoilers ITT)

does anyone else still hold a flame for borra over the grotesque and forced makorra...

It's only the season finale. There will still be more episodes after tomorrow's.

Yeah, but none for at the very least a few months.

Just saw an interesting comic on the Koh/Amon theory that's been going around, thought it should be shared:

It seems like Amon will probably be "revealed" tomorrow, which might mean he's not going to come back in season 2... which I certainly hope isn't the case. Season 1's been good, but the pacing of it has been pretty bad - it seems to me like they have wanted to cram the entire "Amon arc" into 12 episodes in order to move onto something else in season 2.

People who think the pacing of Korra is bad compared to TLA; TLA was padded like crazy with filler, some of it genuinely bad. You can tell a compelling story in 12 episodes, Amon has had a great build up as a villain.

You won't hear me defending TLA's filler, I dislike it as much as the next guy.

I have a problem with LoK's pacing because they really limited themselves with this 12 episode thing. With such a constrained time schedule, they really had to either sacrifice depth or breadth of material in order to fit it in; they ended up sacrificing a decent amount of depth to the characters and story. Amon as a character was really the only one spared from this, since they did such a fantastic job of building him up to this point. Almost everyone else has scarcely had enough time to build any character depth, in my opinion, which makes the first season feel rather rushed to me.

The fact that Amon is my favorite part of the series so far makes me really hope that we won't be seeing the end of him come tomorrow :x

Just realized that Book 1 is called 'air' yet Korra isn't any closer to airbending than she was at the start. And now this season's going to end and we're going to get a new book? That's kind of weird.

Korra has constantly had to build character leading up the finale; unlike TLA there hasn't just been one episode where she learns air or interacting with spirits like Aang did.

Tenzin, Lin, and even Asami have had character development. The only ones who really haven't are the brothers, who never dealt with the fact that they were cheated out of the tournament where the victors ended up having their bending taken away.

She's gonna shoot her first air blast in the finale and knock of Amons mask CALLING IT

That is a pretty cool fan comic for what it's worth. And if anyone would have remembrance of energybending, it is likely owl guy (though I thought his interaction with Sokka was one of the funniest parts of the series). But yeah, excited for tomorrow at any rate.

I bet you're right and this is exactly how it'll happen (maybe a few things here and there that are different, but just watch, she'll go all avatar-state on him and shoot air at him).

does it count if she does it in the avatar state though? in Book 1 of TLA, Aang waterbended in like the third episode but then still went on to properly begin to learn it during the rest of the season.

Also, so incredibly psyched for tomorrow. I just really hope there won't be a huge cliffhanger at the end. I know season 1 was pretty much written before season 2 was greenlighted, but I want them to at least answer the most important questions. Seems like it'll be a packed finale.

My bet is that she'll finally Airbend herself in Ep 11 then Avatar state in Ep 12.

About Amon...I'm not sure if I want him to stick around for another season. I mean, he's an awesome villain - but we should hopefully get the big reveal about his powers and identity at the end of this season. That mystery is one of the big parts of his character. As long as Nickelodeon can make an equally effective antagonist for S2 I wouldn't mine seeing him gone.

I know someone is going to get mad at me for asking this (again), but could someone post a link to this episode or perhaps just send it to me via private message once it is online? I will not be able to watch it on TV unfortunately.

So... assuming the seasons continue to follow this naming scheme, the next Korra season will be
Book two: Void? Think this might've been mentioned before but IDK. Kind of implies she's going to get her bending taken away, probably after she finally manages to do something with airbending. Based on that, I'd imagine season 2 ends up being some sort of journey for a cure combined with working on the spiritual side of being the avatar, since the physical aspects are more or less taken away. Amon may or may not win the city and continue to be the bad guy.
Probably won't happen, but who knows?

jesus fuck what an episode

that was just so amazing. so many moments where all of us in #avatar were just exploding in caps spam because we couldn't believe what had just happened.
