AP Exams

I haven't received my scores yet, but apparently my teachers have.

I took 4 tests this year, and I only know that I got a 5 on the (new, easier) French AP, which is kind of a miracle. Honestly, I was expecting a 3 :o at this point, I'm more scared for Chem than anything else at this point, cause I choked during the free response.

5s in AP calc, lit, physics mech, and miraculously, physics E&M. Still no idea how I pulled that one off. 4s in french and stat. Pretty good year for me.

You got a 4 on stat but 5s in calc and physics? I dont even... the AP stat exam (my year anyway) was one of the easiest tests I've ever taken and I was done with over one hour left. Not gloating, just trying to comprehend how you pulled that off.

Echoing other's comments that yes take as many AP's as you can - after my first semester sophomore year I was considered a Senior at Villanova, which is really nice. Obviously you can save a lot of money and graduate early, go to grad school early, etc. If I wanted to I could come out with a Masters in 4 compared to everyone else with a BA, which is great.

Hopefully everyone gets the results they wanted!

Another possible route is if you're doing pre-med and want to get into medical school, don't take some of the credits and retake them as courses in university. You'll be familiar with the material already and be able to ace them. I didn't take my Math credits and ended up with great marks on both, same with physics (although I took IB which is a tad different).

APs were amazing for my college career. I came in with 45 credits, which is giving me easily enough time to do three (partially overlapping) majors. People like to slack off a bit senior year, but it's a great time to load up on AP classes.

I honestly have no idea either, and the strange thing is that I thought I did really well on French and Stat but bombed E&M, which is obviously not the case. I'm not really complaining though, as it doesn't make a huge difference for me in the long run.

Just got my scores in the mail today!

Chemistry: Cancelled because I knew I was going to get no higher than a 2 and because I had a crap teacher who barely taught us anything
Computer Science A: 5
English Lit / Comp: 4
Calculus BC: 5 (AB Subscore: 5)

From previous years...

US History: 5
Biology: 5
English Lang / Comp: 5
Env. Science: 4
Psychology: 5
World History: 5

I have to say I am very happy. Unfortunately, I won't be able to claim many credits if any because I'm attending a higher-ranked university and plan on going pre-med.

I really wish my scores would come in but so far you guys have done well! except for blara cuz he sux

I haven't got mine yet either it's not just you :(.

The school I'm going to offers credit for three calc classes for the BC exam and two for the AB exam. I'm wondering if this is normal or if its just because my school is different, anyone?

APUSH: 5
Comp. Sci.: 4
Eng Lang / Comp.: 4
Calc BC: 5
Physics B: 5

I'm mildly irritated that I got a 4 on Comp. Sci. (I felt really prepared; guess my multiple choice was just that bad lol), but relieved that I got a 5 on Physics.

took it last year; confirming Ray is just terrible at English because I got a 5

(and another one on Lit this year gg)

Canadians still have to waittttt. It's killing me. I've even checked the University of Toronto website, and nothing is there yet.

Haven't been (and won't be) home in forever, hopefully they're in my mailbox and my family can tell me the scores when they get home tomorrow. I really hope so because I want to know so badly what I got, though I'm super nervous about that calc BC. Congratz to everyone doing so well :O !

The grading curve on the calc test is probably more generous than the statistics one.

I apologize if I am not allowed to advertise other sites, but I truly believe that any younger, academically inclined students would benefit from registering at the website College Confidential. There are plenty of users there that provide plenty of helpful information concerning not only AP classes and exams but also the college admissions process and a bunch more areas. I can firmly attest that were it not for that website, my AP scores would not be what they are, and I would likely not have been admitted into the universities I was.

I didn't use this, and I regret it. The hard facts are:

1. You at 16, 17 or 18, don't know shit about shit about universities or admissions.
2. Your parents know even less shit.
3. Unless you go to a really good private high school, your counselors don't know shit (especially about private schools) and don't give a fuck about you.

College Confidential is full of silly elitism, but there are a lot of knowledgable people who can help you. The whole admission process sucks, it will literally be the worst thing ever, so you better do it right, because otherwise all your suffering, writing pedantic essays and trying to look intellectual without being a nerd and by the way look at me Im an adult i swear im 17 and all grown up and experienced and one time I literally was homeless but it was okay because i try hard dont afraid of anything, will be for nothing.

Agreed, half the APs I took were as a senior. Also I think the curves can be more generous for courses that mostly seniors take... like 80% of my euro class left by halfway into the free response (the exam was on our last day of school in the afternoon, lol).

it was the only non pathetic score i got

i ask the reverse of bio
what the fuck did you people do to get a 5
My bio class met 2 periods a day and probably was more work than my other classes combined. Stuff like Bio/US that are like 100% content really depend on your teacher/school.

Also yeah, I will third College Confidential. Parents think they understand the system but they probably don't, especially if your grades/target schools are different from what theirs were. But don't take CC too seriously, ie. don't let the ridiculous students showing off their resumes and scores deter you...

I took AP Psychology this year. I don't even know if my school had a psychology course. I was told that AP Psych is the easiest AP test of all the tests, though, so I thought "what the hell, I'll go for it." I came to the free response portion of the test and literally just made up vocabulary terms I didn't know, it was hilarious. But that was a fun test.

Did anyone else take Art History this year? I went in expecting a 4 or maybe 5 but then on the exam there were a lot of works and styles we hadn't studied and I got a 3. Missing out on the 4 means I won't get credit at most of the schools I'm considering, but I don't really care about the art credit anyways and only took the class because it was the only AP my school offers to sophomores.
