5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Oh, I thought you were talking about ID abuse. Yeah, there's seven WNPCs in Aspertia, so it'll be a giant pain in the ass.

Ugh I'm still having problems hitting the seed. I've redone my parameters for a DS Lite so that shouldn't be the problem (unless I'm doing something wrong there). Here's the statistics at what I'm looking for.

Seed: 89DAC378D6176A15
Timer0: C7F
Button Presses: R-L
Time: 3/12/13 02:23:47

Anything else I should list?

Umm, your target frame?
And BTW, you should know that the Timer0 is constantly changing between your current one and the other.

OK you hit your seed, now to hit your target frame.
At the main window of Reporter, select Gen 5 PIDRNG, the correct encounter type, copy and paste the seed, then press the Calculate Initial PIDRNG frame, and hit Generate to confirm.
Do 63 minus t advances, where t is your starting PIDRNG frame.

Hope that helps...

I always wondered but, is the Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame reliable?

Yes dear, always. The only exception right now would be wb2 where the actual initial frame is 2 below the one indicated, but still, we know that so that makes it reliable.

The only time things could be messy would be if there are wandering npcs in the area. This won't affect your initial frame but it can throw you off as advancements we're concerned.

Hello :)
I have a question involving rng'ing thundurus for shininess.
I am using white version of course and I am using PPRNG.
Can you please confirm with me that this is the correct process:

I find a useable IV seed for the thundurus I want. I proceed to catch that thundurus. If it is not the nature I want. I restart and repeat the catching process but I add one chatot chatter. I keep restarting and adding chatot flips untill I recieve that desired nature.
Then I would find out the PID of the thundurus I caught (pokecheck) and I would then find out what frame matches the PID of that thundurus.

I would then go to the Trainer ID searcher.
I would input the IV seed from earlier.
I would then highlight the correct frame I had from earlier that matches the PID of my caught Thundurus with the desired nature.
I then can find out what TID and SID combo would make that exact frame shiny.
So in essence, if I rng'd my game to have that ID combo, and then I caught the thundurus the same way as before, at the same time with the same advances, I would catch the same thundurus (IVs and Nature) but this time it would be shiny.

Is there anything anyone can see I am missing?
I really dont want to start untill I am sure I am knowledgable in all that can happen.
Thanks a lot!

yeah, you should find it shiny.
before restarting the game, you may want to try this:

now, @OmegaDonut or anyone else: guys, seriously, when is 9.96.6 (or whatever version it will be) coming out? many italians are waiting to be able to RNG on white 2 on DSi and 3DS. many months passed, you know?
if I were you, I would have made a mini-update only to add support for the languages that are still lacking it.

Is it possible to RNG Pupitar on Route 15 on B2? I know there's fog and a few WNPCs there, but if someone could tell me a success story they had, that'd be cool.

Thanks.

Yeah, both sandstorm & fog are "fixed" in BW2.
So you can't do that weather-remove trick (described in page 1) in BW2.
Might as well stick to BW1 if you can.

I'm trying to RNG the gift shiny Gible that Benga gives you after completing black tower. I select Method: IVs (standard seed), Encounter type: Gift pokemon, choose the nature/IVs and then hit generate. I get the correct IV spread (31 in everything except SpAtK). My question is, can I choose the nature of the pokemon? I chose jolly, but keep getting hardy or quiet or rash. When I copy/paste the seed into main RNG reporter page it doesn't even show Natures, just different IV ranges. Can I even manipulate the PIDRNG ?

Copy the seed you're using onto the main page. Select the method "Gen 5 PID RNG" Click on the box that indicates you're playing WB2, and any other that apply. Click on calculate initial PIDRNG frame. Click Generate.

If you use a custom chatter, every time you see its summary the PID frame will advance by one. Find a frame that has the nature you want.

Haha, yeah I just figured it out after messing with the drop down menu. I had it on GEN IV IV's Standard seed. Thanks though !

Oh? Really? Hmm, maybe I can still do this yet! Now all I need to know is how many WNPCs are in the area.

Trial and error will tell you enough. Why should you wait until you've found the answer to that question, if you could check it out for yourself?

^ just look for NPCs that don't move in a predictable fashion. Also, keep in mind that Route 13 and 14 are large routes, so certain parts of the route might not have the same number of WNPCs as another part, or any at all.

I'm no expert but I'd like to contribute to the fog discussion. As far as I know, there is no way to remove the fog in BW2 (mentioned already I know) even among the various suggestions you will find on google. But what I did find was interesting. So in one example, my starting frame is 55 and I am trying to grab a Metang on frame 70 in Giant Chasm, but no matter what frame I advance to below 70, I always encounter a ditto on frame 75 after a corresponding number of steps, even if I don't advance the frame at all. Long story short, same deal goes for encountering a Pupitar on frame 76 when my starting frame is 56. Anyone have a similar story?

It's still possible to rng while there's a sandstorm going on. I did this once in Black, way before I knew about how to remove it obviously. I managed to rng a sandile on route 4 by doing this and I got the right nature, ability and it was flawless. It just takes a lot of patience since it's hard to predict how much the frames will advance. However I found that in the time that it takes to encounter a pokemon, the game will roughly advance like ten frames or so. The same thing happened when I first tried to rng a ditto in the giant chasm. I would always be about ten frames off my target frame. Of course now I do the trick which removes the whether effect so that I don't have to worry about this sort of thing.

Anyway, I'm having some problems trying to do TID SID abuse on Black 2. I've done this before on Black 1 and I understand that the process is exactly the same. Yet I can't seem to get the right trainer ID. I have exactly four Timer0's on Black 2 and when I first attempted this yesturday I got four different trainer ID's but when I selected find ID hit and entered in the correct time, nothing would come up. Is this just my Timer0 trolling me? Cos I rnged two wondercard pokemon on Black 2 not so long ago and I was able to get them fairly easilly too.

Walking in grass advances the PIDRNG.
