2013 Music

The new Majical Cloudz album, Impersonator is pretty amazing. It really has a gorgeous quality to it that makes for great listening. I only knew him previously from his work on Grimes album Visions, but this shows that he's a great artist in his own right. Favorite track is probably Mister, but everything on this album is awesome, so I'd still listen to em all.

A couple of new Dead by April songs were released a couple of days ago: Freeze Frame and Empathy.

Freeze Frame isn't as good as it could have been, but I only say that because they really overused auto-tune on it. However, ignoring that, it's okay.

Empathy, however, is a wonderful track. I just can't stop listening to it. However, if you don't like screamo, you won't like it. I'd imagine metal purists also wouldn't like it, nor would they like Freeze Frame.

That's all. (yes I'm posting about Dead by April here once their new album comes out)

Really looking forward to Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother's vocalist, before they broke up)'s first solo album, Keep Moving, which will be released later today

9. Streetlight Manifesto - The Hands That Thieve

How have they not released a single disappointing song yet? Every song is my favorite song. The title track might be their best song ever. It is definitely my favorite on the album. I applauded when it ended the first time I listened to it.

New JimmyEatWorld shortly as well. Gonna be the next thing I pick up.

Yeah they're a pretty spectacular band for sure. I do believe Everything Goes Numb is far away their best album though and they have yet to top it!

also @ above: that album is so great. "When A Fire Starts to Burn" is my favorite<3

Anybody listened to J. Cole's new album "Born Sinner"? It leaked, and is now streaming on bornsinner.com. I like it quite a bit, but I need to listen to it more. People are are comparing it to Good Kid, m.A.A.d City, which I don't think it's really even close to, but it's still pretty good.

I've also been listening to Animal Pharm, Lupe Fiasco's new single (although it's apparently not attached to a larger project). Really love Lupe's ability to stick to the theme, be clever without delivering "punchlines," and say some real shit.

I was really disappointed with Daft Punk's RAM. It's been so long since a new classic daft punk house tune for me to jam out to, and I really like Get lucky even though it doesn't sound too much like their old tunes. I expected something like the classic tunes they made to be revealed at the release and found a bunch of easygoing jazz tunes instead. I know they said it was a bit of an experimental album, but it really wasn't what I expected.
