E3 2013 | RETR-oh no....

I'm looking forward to Nintendo stuff and to see if the PS4 will be worth buying.

Also, Ubisoft posted this image to their facebook:

hyped to see some of Smash Bros 4 (which should finally bring WiiU out of joke console status). LttP sequel/spinoff thing should be neat as well.

I'm sure this is relevant...somehow, but a bigshot Sony business manager is asking for a vote about bringing a new JRPG to the vita, just make sure to vote with the hashtag #jrpgvita.

So fucking hyped for that nintendo direct. Cannot wait to get a glimpse of the next smash bros. Looking forward to the Sony and Ubisoft press conferences as well. I'm pretty indifferent to the EA.

I'm definitely not looking forward to another session of tv-sports-call of duty-dog from Microsoft, but this alleged leak has my hopes up for what's in the top left hand corner. What gives this leak more credibility than others is that Microsoft has said Rare will have a "historic franchise" at E3 and that Halo Spartan Assault was confirmed the day after the image started circulating. I guess it's still only a leak and should be taken with a grain of salt but... I can't help but get my hopes up

I am a massive Banjo-Kazooie fan and I've been quietly hoping Rare would unveil a proper Banjo 3 for four E3s in a row. A sequel 13 years overdue would be amazing.

If it turns to be some Nintendoland-esc kinect demonstration, I will smack every bitch

Yeah I'd like a BK game as well -as long as it's like the originals.

Even if they announced a new B-K platformer for the Xbone, I can't say I'll be hyped for it considering Rare's games have been really mediocre for over a decade. I just can't trust them anymore.

I would be happy even if it was just a remake. The first two games on the N64 were cool if I remember correctly.

Typical... the Pokémon Direct is in the middle of the night. Now well, if I get up decently early on Wednesday, I might still catch some of the discussion before everything is over-speculated (kinda like the types of Chespin/Fennekin/Froakie: everything that could be said about the subject was said within a few hours of the announcement). Nintendo might also have other positive "surprises" coming, but not beyond a certain point. Over the years, we've learned what to expect from them; we know that Mario platformers and LoZ will be coming, sure as sunrise. People aren't excited for the concept of SSB any more, it's more about how SSB will be and who will be in it.

As for the other companies, I say "Meh". It's "win or vanish" from EA: Unless they surprise us with something good (SWBF3, thank you very much), they're digging their own grave there. If they keep making uninspired sequels (CoD 14 or wherever they are now), or terrible "reboots" (SimCity, C&C), all riddled with draconian DRM and simplified to appeal to the casual market, they will eventually have to downsize or go bust.

Microsoft has one heck of a marketing job ahead of them. Their vision for the XBox is clearly not aligned with the wishes of the customer base. People can watch TV without the aid of a several-hundred-dollar box, and the mandatory Kinect smells trouble. People have also realized that the most efficient way to watch TV or movies without Microsoft's ever-looking eyes, is to not buy the XBox and instead keep using whatever they do at the moment. They also realize that the other consoles offer gaming without having to connect to the Internet. From what we know at the moment, there seems to be more downsides than upsides to buying an XBox One.

Sony is sailing with tailwind. They offer a top-of-the-shelf game console, and that's it so far. No focus on television rather than gaming, no cameras watching you, no mandatory Internet connection, free Online play, everything that has been said so far has been satisfactory enough. Perhaps they'll break a little more "bad news" about their console, but if they don't, they can keep surfing the wave of goodwill.

Sweet gonna be able to watch Pokemon Direct as its at 11 am in China AND I have the day off from work. Pretty excited for that!

To be fair SC4 was a good game.

So what's everyone want from Pokémon Direct? I want to see the final evolutions of the starters and see some new pokemon. I don't really give a shit about anything else in the game. Tarzan-style gyms? No thanks.

^SimCity 4 was a very good game, the plethora of available mods made it even better. SimCity (2013) was an insult to the franchise, lacking absolutely everything that made SC4 great, as well as adding tons of pointlessness and crappy simulation algorithms.

It wouldn't have been as bad if EA hadn't touted it as the next big step in the SimCity franchise. It was a big step, indeed, but it was backwards. The game was created to cash in on the success of its predecessors, abusing the SimCity brand name to generate hype, while delivering awfully little. We saw the same with the new Command&Conquer game: First, they promised a sequel to the beloved C&C Generals, then they scaled it down, changed the format of the game, announced tons of day-one-DLC, and generally left behind everything the game used to be, except from the (very marketable) brand name.

In later years, EA have been known for buying up succesful game studios, taking over their franchises, and release their own crappy sequels to famous and popular game series, often without any connection to the original developers (in Maxis' case, the name of the successful studio behind the original games was kept, but the developers were not).

As for the Pokémon Direct, I think we'll get to know a little more about what the game is about, who the villains are and what the "spirit" of Kalos is like. What's typical for the region, what are the legendaries all about, stuff like hat.

Inb4 EA shits everyone's pants with battlefront III announcement

inb4 shattered dreams

Don't do this to me Pwnemon... PLEASE don't... All those dreams! ;__;

So excited about E3 this year... So many good things ot have info on :D Shame everything as at night time for me :(

>Nintendo Direct right at the middle of evening lectures
>Pokemon Direct at 4:00 AM

Guess I'll still get to enjoy the comedy known as Microsoft's. Popcorn's ready.

I've got Nintendo at 7:30pm and Pokemon at 6:30 am, and given that I have an exam that morning I'll probably get to watch it. I'll probably wake up to see sony's as well since I'm seriously considering getting a ps4 when I'm in college. Definitely better than an xbox one, from what I've seen, and I can't wait to get away from my wii at home. I wish I could see EA's conference since I haven't played any of their games recently, but I still have a ton of their good older games and I'd love to see them make something good again.

So yeah, that's also basically what everyone else has said, I think.

So Rare's new game is Kinect Sports Rivals.

That's a let down.

EDIT: ignore me they're teasing something for later

XBOX XBOX XBOX XBOX XBOX XBOX

edit: currently throwing my money at the screen and nothing is happening

"World of Tanks" is all they can fucking muster.

Pretty sure Dark Souls 2 will be on Playstation as well so the best game they've shown is multi-platform.

Oh look, another hack n' slash action game that relies on quicktime events too much. Sigh.
