Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus

Who doesn't know Depeche Mode? Awesome alternative/techno.

9/10

So we're rating songs too now?

The Howling Bells - The Bell Hit

There's something about the laid back style of this band that I love, and the chorus to this song gets me into a good mood everytime i hear it.

8.5/10

The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)

One of the best Drum n Bass tracks, remixed by arguably the best Drum n Bass formation ever. I absolutely love the original version of this track, but Pendulum adds a certain a "mood" to it, which makes it that tad more awesome. Powerful track.

8/10

If you like this, listen to the Freestylers & Pendulum - Fasten Your Seatbelts.

Np - Circle Takes The Square - Same Shade As Concrete

Cool people like Pax and Ecnemalas recommended this, and they generally like the same stuff as I do, so I decided to go check them out. Still getting used to them lol, but I do like it.

7/10 atm

Try getting Interview at the Ruins then. Anyway, if you want more hardcore/screamo/whatever is similar, you're better off asking spies or kows instead of me. Myself I don't really enjoy the genre that much except for a few bands (sed non satiata and ctts)

Bad Religion - Anesthesia

Excellent fast punk with good vocals, vocal harmonies that work, intelligent political lyrics, basically an excellent band with excellent music

10/10

Interpol - The New

Nice track on their amazing debut album. Really contributes to the soothing, yet depressive atmosphere. Very well written with lines like, "I can't pretend I don't need to defend some part of me from you." Awesome change 3 minutes in. Turns into yelping vocals backed by a piercing, trance-like guitar riff.

9/10

Chuck Loeb - Uppercut

Altough I generally don't like smooth jazz, there is some actual playing of the insturments (most smooth jazz is just backing tracks with a guitar player fapping on his insturment over it) on it. It also has an awesome bass line which is always good.

8.5/10

Interpol - The New

Yeah man, I've always loved that song.

The Appleseed Cast - Fishing the Sky

I brought 4 TAC CDs to work with me today, it was such a good decision. The guitarwork in this song is beautiful, when they played this song live a few months ago I went apeshit.

9/10

Kitaro - Lady of Dreams

I'm seriously in love with this guy. His arrangements are amazing in every single track he makes (guitars, woodwinds, synths, you name it). This album features vocals from Yes frontman Jon Anderson who did a pretty great job especially in this track.

Cameron Mizell - Eddie's Theme
(see avatar)
I love this song and this album in general is pretty sweet. I really like the horn parts and the drums, even though the band is named after the guitar player xD

9/10

Interpol - Evil

I gotta say, I'm fucking loving the music suggestions you guys are making. This song in particular is awesome!

9.5/10

Demons & Wizards - Fiddler on the Green

Holy fucking Jesus. This is one killer song. Starts off acoustically, with Hansi singing soft vocals, but just erupts slightly before the 4:00 mark, with an irresistible guitar hook, and Hansi's trademark scream that is bonechilling. The lead guitar at the end is of epic proportions. Jon Schaffer (of Iced Earth) and Hansi Kürsch (of Blind Guardian) show how to do power metal ballads, without sounding cheesy, strong songwriting, killer musicianship, and a fucking catchy hook to boot. God. This song never ceases to amaze.

10/10 definitely

Regina Spektor - Fidelity

I have no concept as to how popular Regina Spektor is...but damn she should be. Very accessible, yet very artistic. Probably one of the most creative female artists out there now. Beautiful voice as well.

9/10

senses fail - sick or sane (fifty for a tewenty)

I'M SORRY I FORGOT YOUR NAME, BUT THIS IS LOVE; FOR THOSE WHO'VE PLAYED THIS GAME,
I KNOW I MADE A BIG MISTAKE, OF PAYING YOU TO SUCK OUT ALL MY FAITH.

9/10

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Burning of the Midnight Lamp

Haven't given this one much listens but it's a great song. Hendrix uses a harpischord and "wah-wah" guitar effects along with other instruments to produce a powerful piece of music.

9.5/10

Nightwish - Dead to the World
The male vocals are kinda annoying but the guitar riffs make this one of my favourite NW songs ever. It's like duh-duh-duh-duh at bullet speed...makes your hairs stand up on end.
9/10
it would be 10/10 but for the male lyrics and the wah-wuh-wah near the end, which spoils the rhythm on the song.

!!! - Intensify

god I really love chk chk chk, and this song is specifically awesome, one of my favorites from their first album.

8.5/10

In my opinion, Dear Can is their best song, but they're quite awesome nonetheless. Also, Altmer gets props for Bad Religion.

Hooray - Minus The Bear

Not their best song, but the partly relaxing, partly fast beat works fine with this song and I like it.

8/10

Herbie Hancock - Cantaloupe Island (Live)

I got this from some guy on another forum who went to see Herbie and Vinnie play live and it's actually has good sound quality for a bootleg. This song is awesome and has some pretty crazy solos in it.

Nightwish - Dead to the World

I love the male vocals on that one! That is one of my favourite Nightwish songs.

Blind Guardian - Punishment Divine

Overblown, but awesome power metal. Hansi is a vocal god again, he just apes Queen with their vocal harmonies too much. This has some pretty killer speed riffs and energy, though.

8.5/10

Kaiser Chiefs - Na Na Na Na Naa

Pretty awesome song, and though I'm not new to Kaiser Chiefs, I don't listen to it much, decided I'd listen to this today.

8/10
